After a couple of service techs telephonically confirming they can resurface my truck rotors-Once I took my truck I was told they do not. For the shocks which I supplied would not work according to the tech. (I bought the shocks from the manager of AutoZone who researched what I needed) the tech recommended shocks twice the price. Then, PepBoys ordered the shocks. Then they said they were the wrong shocks and the ones I need are $700 each. I then Told them to forget it and I'll take my truck. I brought my car here to get the tires checked they lied and told me my tires were dated for 2018 and that I needed to replace them immediately or else they would pop and I could get into an accident on the freeway. They tried to charge me over $500 with the maintenance plan I got with my car for all 4 tires so I brought it somewhere else cause I'm frugal and ya must be crazy. I took it to Decatur tire shop and they said I only had one tire that concerning but not enough to change the entire tire, they just patched it up and sent me on my way, the rest of the tires got some air and I needed to replace the tire sensor. I'm so tired of these places trying to play women like we do not know what we doing. I drive a foreign and I'm smart when it comes to my money, of course I'm going to try all my options. I paid 2700 to have my engine fixed. They fixed it but admitted that a technician left a bolt out of my valve cover. I took it back and they supposedly fixed it. I picked up again and the next day my engine blew on me and last me stranded. Now they refuse to take responsibility and said it was my fault. He fabricates explanations when he doesn't understand what's going on and, while it is NOT his fault for being untrained on the customer service, it's understandable why he gets frustrated. Not in a rude way, but in a "how can I resolve this customer's problem or answer their question" sort of way. He is solutions oriented, but takes too long to ask for assistance when he doesn't know. I came in with an appt at 12 noon to get four tires and a alignment. I was told two hours. 40 mins in they were like the lug nuts were stripped and needed to be replaced which I understood. They called around and said that they couldn't get them until 3:30p and they would call me when it was ready. I call at 5:17p and was told that they were almost done and would get a call back shortly. No phone call and they are closed. Came in after buying a car from a friend because I needed to take her tags off so I could put my own on. That's it...just needed the plate taken off but the screws were rusted on so I was willing to pay to have someone remove them with tools. I was already not happy with how long it was taking, but I wouldn't have minded waiting if it were for the guy at the front who was on the phone the entire time he had customers in front of him and he straight up ignored me when I tried to speak to him so I just left....other guys were nice but this was a horrible experience....... read more

So, the plus side of this place is they have a pretty knowledgeable staff and they're fully stocked, having everything I was looking for (Floor mats, windshield wipers, spark plugs). In and out of there with zero hassle in record time. If you really need work done to your car, they have multiple bay doors and they do repairs, though i'm happy i've never had to take my car in for repairs. Large parking lot and clean store, can't ask for much more. The bad of this place is it's a pain to get out of! If you're at all interested in getting back on south hariston road, good luck. It's much easier to find a reason to turn on Covington Hwy, even if you don't want to. Still, despite the terrible time at getting out, this place stays busy. read more

No words can express how absolutely wonderful this business has been. My truck broke down 6 hours from home, after traveling across country to purchase this vehicle. We had the vehicle towed to pep boys. Unfortunately since the truck is very old, they weren't able to provide what I needed. BUT they did more than most. The workers stored the vehicle for two full days while we worked out the kinks in getting transport back home. One of the employees on his day off came in, looked at everything, gave honest advice and even helped unplug more things so we don't do anymore damage. Let me use all amenities even though I wasn't a paying customer-like restroom, charging my phone, etc. if you're looking for a business who's willing to give their shirt of their back, knowledgeable and overall one of the most genuine group of guys I've EVER met, then this is it. I wasn't even able to have my car serviced here because the staff couldn't manage to add my name to any list to get it done. I called and asked if they take walk ins for an oil change. The answer was yes but the wait is 30-40 minutes. Cool. I packed a book. I get there and the wait is 2 hours now apparently. Cool. I need it done I can wait, I ask if my name will be added to any list. No. Just call back in 2 hours. I left and called back later and asked if I can schedule the next available appointment, thinking that would be less confusing than a walk in. I was told the next appointment wouldn't be until 3. I've been to this Pep Boys three times in the past year, twice for tire service. The service bays are grimy, dark and depressing. I don't think people realize that service garages don't have to be grease pits. The customer "lounge" is a cave with a couch and a few loose chairs it in. It's has all the appeal of a holding cell. I'd just as soon find a place to sit outdoors. On both occasions for tire service, I found the front counter staff behavior disturbingly unprofessional. They stand around fussing and arguing with each other, and doing all of it just little too loud. Some people don't mind an atmosphere of employees "just being real". I do. What I found most shocking was that even though they had the tire I needed, they couldn't put it on what the service writer called my "aftermarket" wheels. Luckily I had my tablet with with me and I was able to show her that my wheels were not aftermarket, but authentic Ford equipment. And how is that an argument in a store that itself sells aftermarket wheels? . Then she just confessed, that she just didn't think the service team was competent enough to handle it. Really? A national chain auto service store that sells 20" tires but employs people that don't know how to install them? read more

Both times I waited for a long time to get someone to begin the process. I waited a long time for a call back on the status of my car. Once I was given an insane price and I told them I would call them back, I received two more calls within the next hour asking if I would be able to pay that amount. I made an appointment at 11am this past Saturday to get my brakes checked and replaced at this location. I also needed to change a tire so I also asked them to see if they had another tire for me. When I arrived they took an hour to just get my car to the garage. I asked Tenecia when they were going to check on my car since I did make an appointment at 11 and it was already noon. She said I was the next in line and as soon as they get it to the garage they were going to take 30 minutes to fix it. Milton was the one working on it and raised my car onto the lift. Instead of taking the tires off to check it they just leave it sitting in the air. I see 2 or 3 other employees through the window from the waiting room just sitting there talking. After an hour I was losing my patience and was about to say forget it and go somewhere else cause I had somewhere else to be. I went up to Tenecia and was wondering why it was taking so long and she said they were looking for a tire. First of all it shouldn't take an hour to look for a tire and second they could've already taken the tires off my car to at least check on the brakes. As Milton was just walking around I was watching the mechanic next to mine doing oil changes. This mechanic went through THREE oil changes before Milton had a chance to fix my brakes. I mean the guy was eating chicken while working on the cars. I kept seeing Milton walking around looking lost so I go around outside to figure out what he was doing. He said he didn't know my car had needed a computer to read the electrical brakes. I would have told him that if I had known that's what spent a whole hour looking for it. I would assume they would know that by now. Just by knowing that it made me more frustrated and annoyed. I didn't even want them to change my tire anymore cause I knew it would take another hour. The fact that it took them one hour to take my car in. Another hour to take the tires off and check the brakes. And another hour to work on it. What's the point of making an appointment if they're going to have you wait about 3 hours for your car?! Wasn't happy with my visit with pep boys. I had a mobile coupon for 19.99$ for a oil change, this is the price I have always paid when I presented my coupon at a pep boys establishment. When I went in the other day to pay for my oil change I presented my coupon and it only look off 12$. So I ended up paying more for than usual for an oil change and the manger didn't even honor the coupon. read more

I had a very bad experience with this store. I had a oil leak in my 2002 Cadillac DeVille. I planned on keeping the car so I knew I had to invest a lot of money in it. I took it to Pep Boys to get an estimate and they quoted me a price of over $4,000 to get the work done. I didn't want to pay the price so the manager offered me a 20% discount which brought the price down to $3,600. She said that this would fix all of the oil leak problems and they needed to remove the engine which is why it cost so much. I agreed to let them do the work. After getting the car back I still felt that I still had an oil leak and I talked to the regional manager. After about a month he told me that he didn't feel comfortable with Pep Boys doing the work so he advised me to take it to another shop. I took it to the Cadillac dealership and they said the engine would have to be removed again because there was another oil leak. I had a one year warranty with Pep Boys but they refused to do the work and refuse to pay me the money to have the dealership to do the work. I have decided to allow the Cadillac dealership to do the work and I'll pay them out of my pocket. Then when everything is done I'll take Pep Boys to small claims court to try and get my money back. I cannot believe that after giving them $3,600 and with a one year warranty they will not guarantee their work. read more

He even asked me about an alignment to be sure I had one because there was no record of it in his records. He also updated my phone number which was suppose to have been done when I purchased the tires . If I could give this place a negative 5 I would!!! Jesse who is the Assistant manager was VERY RUDE. I made an appointment for 5pm, didn't leave until 7. He even said appointments don't mean anything! The whole time we were talking, he was looking at the computer, never made eye contact with me at all. I gave them a coupon that said an oil change would be $19.99 but I was still charged full price with NO explanation as to why. I even had to remind them to take me keys from me so my car could get serviced! I WILL NEVER COME TO THIS PLACE AGAIN. fyi don't bother making an appointment because you will have to wait hours regardless. I don't usually go to this location but I had a flat tire and it was the closest one to my location. Mamie the sales clerk was so incredibly sweet and helpful. I was very pleased! My only disappointment was that the Pep Boys stores don't seem to link up to each others system so my purchases from the pep boys I usually go to for tires were not visible and I had to dig up paperwork out of my glove box to show I had road hazard insurance. That is something the company will need to deal with but the store staff was exemplary and I appreciated it. read more

This place was awful. I went at 7am and was the second customer and the wait and service was ridiculous. When I asked about my car I was rudely brushed off and ignored. The staff are jerks and I still have no idea what they did to my car because they refused to give me a receipt or any document to say what they did to my car in the 3 hours I was there. Giving people the run around and crappy customer service seems to be the norm there. I will never waste my time at a place like this again. read more
