I took my car in to get two new tires, alignment and an oil change. Their sign says that they beat competitors' prices, so I took in my estimate from another mechanic. They beat the price by about $60 or $70. This was due in part because they had a "buy 2 tires, get a free oil change" deal going on. One of the worst shops in the world and the worst companies. I wouldn't recommend this shop or any pep boys shop in the area. They overwork their employees, don't give them breaks or days off. I've seen their worn out techs make terrible mistakes like leaving lug nuts off cars and oil out of engines. STAY AWAY FROM PEP BOYS. They never change tpms kits on cars so tires leak and sensors go bad. They charge $84.99 for an alignment and they only adjust toe on the front, they tell you they rotate your tires but they dont. read more

Do not ignore the bad reviews. This place is horrible. I got a filter changed by them. It literally took them 3 minutes. I'm like wow this is great service. A day later the glove box wouldn't remain closed. I called the location the young lady that worked on the car answered and stated the left side of the glove box was loose before (she never told me this information) she installed my cabin filter (my car is a 2016). She states I should bring the car back for her to fix it again. So I say ok thank you (why would I have a liar touch my car again). I called again and talked to the manager minutes later he says the same thing (come back so we can fix it). I look to see if something was preventing the glove box from closing and the WHOLE glove box falls to the floor as soon as I opened it . So after being mad about the situation and thinking about driving 20 miles back to this location I finally decide to YouTube the DIY to replacing a cabin filter and discovered the "young lady" never properly reconnected the glove box after she was done. I'm angry that they could not complete a simple task. I'm so glad they did not do any major work to my car. Just be cautious of the services provided at this location. The server was new, not one of our usual's like Gary (Gary is afraid of heights) but we welcomed the opportunity to meet someone new. She looked a lot like judge judy but we were informed it wasn't her. Anyway, Judy started us off with drinks and everything was fine until we got our salads. I got a ceaser. When I was about half way through I found a fart in my salad. I was shocked at first and called over the manager our good friend Adam Noel. I was very upset that they had me wait around for so long. When I asked about my car, they were unapologetic about the wait time. I purchased a new set of tires. When I retrieved my car, the tires were extremely dirty and scuffed up to the point I thought they were used tires. I call them and they told me to bring the car back. I returned the next day and the guy argued with me saying they were new tires and he told me to run them through the wash. Why should I have to run them through the wash when I just bought them? I felt out the survey and gave them a very bad review. They call me to replace the tire, which meant I have to come back for a 3rd time. All they did was wipe the tires off and ensure me they were new, they just got dirty from being on the floor. I talked to some friends and they told me new tires have some kind of ink on them so they shouldn't get that dirty, front and back, when they just put them on. In my gut, I still feel like they weren't new nor should I have to come back THREE TIMES to get professional service! Needless to say, I will never return. read more

I got two flat tires, and was in a huge bind, but this Pep Boys location literally saved the day minutes before they closed, even staying after to help me out. The branch closed at 7PM, and I got 2 flat tires at 6PM. I called a tow truck but had to wait and was so nervous nobody would be able to take my car, I'd be stranded from my apartment in the city and work in the suburbs the following day. I called, asking if I came in minutes before closing, if they could please help me and change out two tires. The entire team was nice, the service was extremely fast, and the car was ready to go in about 30 minutes. Freddie, the service advisor, and Joey, the tech, were so friendly as well. I was so thankful they were able to help, and provide great customer service, and repairs. The day could've been a nightmare, but thanks to this team, I was able to get home in my own car and make it to work. Highly recommend! read more

Stopped in about a month ago and had a headlight replaced. HAd to buy pack of 2 light bulbs from them cause they didnt have any singles, whatever...Kid didnt seem to really know what he was doing...... fast forward to today, am driving my car and suddenly all of my coolant blows out of my system. Take it to a real mechanic I trust and he finds that a hose up by where my headlight was replaced was not secured properly. Well it's obvious that the hose had to be removed to get to the headlight so it was obviously not reattached properly.... Thankfully this fix only cost me $20 but add it to the cost of my original service and unnecessary additional bulb and its cost me about $90, for a light bulb, damn... After getting an oil change, I shouldn't have to find myself wiping the top of my engine down from anti freeze being all over it that happened obviously by someone that opened up the radiator cap while the engine was still hot. It was splattered over the engine. And why are there droplets under my engine on the ground of oil? That is an indication to me that shows the engine was not entirely checked to make certain that everything was installed properly, and wiped down. Run the engine after the oil change to make certain it is free of any potential leaks!!!! Top make certain that nothing was left loose, like possibly the filter!!!!!! Now I find myself having to check the vehicle to see if any oil remnants are underneath it. UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I asked also that my tires be rotated because it is part of the package. NOPE. They were left alone because supposedly there was no sign of wear apparently on the front tires compared to the rear ones. SO WHAT!!!!! ROTATE THE TIRES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And when I handed over the vehicle, I specifically asked the manager to look over the vehicle to make certain everything was done right. NOPE!!!! And here is the worst part of all, this is my second experience with this location that went wrong. ONLY REASON I HAVE GONE THERE IS BECAUSE IT IS CONVENIENT TO WHERE I LIVE. Avoid this place. I got my oil changed here and right after that my check oil light was on. My boyfriend brought it back and the employee explained to him that it would be $90 to tell us why. I literally just got my oil changed here. i got on the phone with him to question it and instead of politely and professionally explaining the charge, he had an unpleasant attitude and was far from helpful. He handed the phone back to my boyfriend and mumbled a remark involving the word "disrespect". Customer Service and correct advice cost extra here - I didn't pay enough to get it. After giving a full description of the vehicle and part needed, I was given the wrong part. Unfortunately, the only way to find out was to dismantle the front end of my vehicle. The next day, when I explained this to the MANAGER he told me it must have been the computer's mistake (not the tech). When I asked for a refund, I got an attitude from the manager. Worst repair shop I have ever dealt with. They "repaired" my front axle. After less than 3 months, it broke in half and came off while I was driving. The cop that came to the scene said I would have been killed if I was in traffic or on the expressway. PEP Boys denied that they were responsible. My insurance company is suing them. Enough said. What should have been a quick fix turned into my nightmare! Around the 2nd week of December 2010 I took my car into PepBoys because my service engine light was on. PepBoys replaced my spark plugs and some other items. I picked up my car and my service engine light came on that night!!! I took my car back to PepBoys the next day and they said because they changed the spark plugs that may have initiated the new problem with my throttle body part. This is a 2003 Nissan Murano PepBoys was working on. Why didn't they check my car again before releasing to me? I asked the PepBoys staff and "Henry" said the technician should have but he guess he didn't. So I asked for the estimate for the throttle body relplacement and the quote included $130.00 in labor!!!! I just took my car from PepBoys the day prior and I'm paying for labor again?!?!?!?! I opted to wait till January to order the part and when I tried to order the part I calle d PepBoys exactly SEVEN different times and there was SO MUCH MISCOMMUNICATION THE PART WAS NEVER ORDERED!!!!!!!!!! They said they'd call me back the next day, no call, they said they'd contacted the dealership, no answer so they try the dealership again the next day, they said they'd ordered the part finally, no order was placed, and finally it wasn't until I demanded them to call the dealership on three way with me that the part was ordered. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE (I have not even gone into the LACK OF COMMUNICATION they had with me) I ALWAYS HAD TO CALL THEM TO GET AN UPDATE!!!!! I thought their supposed to call me!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! The car arrived and they replaced the throttle part and said the service light would stay on because another problem had come up with the car. PepBoys knew the problem code but asked for a diagnostic charge of $89.99!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm livid at this point! What are you diagnosing? You know the problem code, you just told me what it was! I have paid over $500.00 and NEVER EVER EVER again will I use another PepBoys EVER! I told them I'd pay for the throttle part and labor and I left as quickly as I could. If these are the kind of employees you have representing your company you will not be a profitable company much longer. The SERVICE and COMMUNICATION WAS ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!!!! Worst oil change experience ever! DO NOT go to this place. I waited for over an hour for a 10 minute oil change. To top it off, I received no explanation for the delay or even a polite apology. The only reason I even went here to get an oil change was because I had about $25 on my Pepboys rewards card. But apparently, you can't just redeem it from the card, you have to redeem it online and wait for them to send you a gift card. It is not worth going to this place for any sort of rebate. We paid hundreds of dollars for new tires and the workers at this Pep Boy location didn't secure the lug nuts in the passenger rear tire. We hear a weird noise when driving and pulled over. My husband realized he could unscrew the lug nuts by hand! This is an inexcusable and blatant oversight. We are lucky we noticed before getting on the highway! I must say, before I made my appointment, I had not read the Yelp reviews. Just before my appointment, I was on Yelp for something else and decided to check out this location's reviews. I was surprised by all the negative reviews and almost cancelled my appointment! At the last minute, I decided to go ahead with it anyways. Fortunately, I had a more positive experience than most of the other reviewers. I purchased a new set of aftermarket wheels and tires and had them mount, balance, and install the new set of wheels. Joe, who was behind the counter, was very personable and helpful. The final price was the price estimated. I was in and out in about an hour. Came to shop needing new tires. The gentleman working the computer and walking us through the options seems nice enough. He said 1.5 hours. We left on foot and milled around the stores in the neighborhood for 90 minutes. When we returned, we were given our key and the paperwork and then the same sales associate asked us if we were here to pick up the completed work. We said yes. He seemed surprised and needed to find the tech. He then informed us that work had not begun and the tech had an issue with car/job before ours. That part I understand. What I don't understand is the more than four employees not knowing or caring which job was being completed or when. We asked about the time due to travel and traffic considerations. Well, they had a waiting list of about 4 years so I hesitantly tried my luck at Pep Boys instead. The mechanics were friendly, articulate, and helped guide me to the right services/improvements for my car. They were honest and made for a refreshing experience. I called a day in advance to ask for a quote for strut repairs. Max answered and gave me a quote but alerted me to coupons for the work on their site. I brought it in the next day at 7am and they told me would not be done until sometime in the afternoon. They called when completed and Max checked me out. I had taken it to another place for other work and explained my experience, which was not good. Max took about 10 minutes to explain to me what they would have charged and how they would have handled the customer service. The customer service was great.
