We came late night after a night of drinking in St. Paul. The service was super friendly and courteous-- I was grateful they put up with our drunken state. French fries, according to the boyfriend were delicious. But he wasn't exactly sober either... For some reason, the crispy strips of bacon really hit the spot. I ordered mashed potatoes as well-- delicious and savory beef gravy. And Perkin's coffee was a lifesaver; thanks for the sobering up!! read more

Blaine doesn't have much by way of a diner, so we stopped by this Perkins for lunch. For noon time, the place was pretty empty. Was surprise to see tanks not bussed with dishes just sitting on them. Hostess seemed annoyed when we asked to be seated somewhere else. We did want to sit amongst the dirty tables. Our server came over, and she was gross. Smelled like cigarettes really bad. We placed out order and the sandwiches were horrible. I mean, how hard is it to make a sandwich? Thick greasy white bread slices with meat and vegetables sitting in the middle somewhere. I took a bite and all I was eating was bread. When our cigarette marinated server came back, I told her the sandwich was not very good. She said it was their most popular sandwich. No way. It's so bad it's not possible people ever order it more than once. She took my plate away, and I was left with no lunch but now able to breathe better since I no longer was holding my breath so I didn't have to smell this women's cigarette clothes, body or breathe. Got the bill. Went to the counter to pay. Some lifeless hostess/cashier took our money and said have a nice day. No smile. Didn't ask how our crappy meal was. Plus they charged me for the sandwich I never ate. Never again. Maybe it was an off day. But too many issues occurred to add up to me feeling that the people here just don't care. Pathetic read more

Way over priced for very small servings. Don't order takeout because they will put very small servings sizes. I got less than a handful of fried pickles for 8 dollars with no sauce and a ridiculously small amount of fries with my burger. Called and asked about it and she just said "hm you must have been over served the other times you ordered then." Wish I could add pictures. read more

It all started one night when I was with my home girl Trish Trish and we decided to stop at this fine lookin' Perkinz off of 65. We walked in, waiting about 15 minutes until our ankles got arthritis and eventually we had to seat ourselves. Of course this was all at 3 AM, so there was only one server for the dining room which is understandable. We walked into the dining room, and we were greeted with bright orange, camouflage and Gander Mountain baseball caps. Later that night we found out they were all having a meeting because they were part of a magazine called "Venison: The lifestyle." So, we sat down next to these hillbillies and looked through the menu. I order some blueberry pancakes with a lemon topping. Dey sure were good. The next thing I know, Trish Trish orders a shake. The thing is, it came with some weird toppings on it. It wasn't April Foolz Day, so we were just so perplexed as to what was going on. We decided to let it slide, and the bizarre toppings actually added a nice hint of acidity and texture to the cement-like drink. Thank you to our ah-mazing waiter! I can only comment on the Blaine location, but good food, good service. The waffles w/strawberries are particularly excellent.

Perkins is by no means my favorite place to go for breakfast let alone any meal however it's still a decent place. I like the fact you can order a shake/malt no matter what time it is. That being said since the server actually makes them, you get inconsistent results depending on who is working. My malt was a little runny, my server did offer to make a new one but it wasn't bad enough where it needed to be remade but it could have been better if made correctly the first time. The food isn't bad, it's not great either it's just average. This restaurant is always open which is nice if you are looking for a late night bite. Service is usually average & for the most part friendly. Expect average food & service. read more

Not impressed. Every time my boyfriend and I go to this Perkins location the service is slow and empty tables are piled with dishes. On our most recent experience we went in at about 7:00pm. We were seated in a side room that was just trashed. There was only one other table of people in this room but every table was dirty and stacked with dishes, and no one seemed to care. We both knew what we wanted to order when we entered the restaurant and our trip to Perkins still took us an hour and a half, and I think that's a little long. I'm not sure if they were just understaffed, but if they were, they seem to be understaffed a lot. Someone might want to look into it. When we left, the whole area was still unattended to. But, I do want to add that free pie Mondays are a wonderful idea. read more

If I could give minus stars I would! There were 6 tables including ours. We were seated quickly but it took almost 1 hour and 45 minutes for us to get our food. The waitress was very busy because three tables came in close together but where was the manager ( she wwwas also the one that took us to our table)? I ordered the Griddle Platter which had French toast, eggs, bacon and pancakes. I ordered the bacon crispy, the eggs over easy. The bacon was probably cooked half way. (I couldn't eat it) The eggs were runny and slimy. The plate was hot but the butter wouldn't even melt on the French toast OR the pancakes because they were cool to lukewarm at best. Also the breakfast my husband ordered, the eggs were not cooked to order and the butter lay on top of his toast. I ordered a blueberry muffin to take with me, (we were traveling), and it had a burnt taste to it. I complained to the manager who took our bill from us. I said the waitress was working hard to take care of everyone but needed more help. She told me that they got very busy and that is why it took so long. Sorry but it's a poor excuse. I used to waitress AND cook and I know I could have made and served the food faster. I hate to complain and usually don't but this was unbelievable! I won't be back to a Perkins anytime soon. read more

This 5 star rating is for our server - Cole. We were in on Saturday night (May 7). Food was good. Our server cleared our plates, and 5 minutes later, my sister-in-law noticed that she had left her dental apparatus (which costs $3,000) on her plate! She panicked, and we found our server. Cole went in the back and dug through the garbage to find it, and brought it out in a little to-go container. He did it with a smile on his face, too. Give that boy a raise! read more

My husband and I were tired of Denny's hurting us so we tried this place again. They had bland food for awhile, but I didn't have anything to lose. I was happy surprised. The fried pickles were to die for! The dill wasn't overpowering and ranch added divinity. Chicken strips were crispy outside, moist inside. The honey mustard is always awesome here too. Never had issues with that. The bacon on my tangler burger was crispy and tasted like bacon. Not like that cheap crispy bacon sub some places use. The onions could have been crisper, but the taste of it was still amazing. Just the right amount of sauce, too. Other places seem to be skimping on it, badly. But not this place! While waiting for our takeout, I organized the menus and my husband tipped 10 bucks. We got a free piece of pie. Not sure if it was the tip or my OCD mixed with boredom aimed at the menus, but it was awesome. The only down I had was the spices in the mozzarella sticks. They seemed to be missing something. Terrible service. Ordered our drinks and placed our order right away. Not once in 45 minutes did our waitress check on us. 3 cups of coffee later the waitress comes to our table and informs us she forgot to put our order in. Says they will comp our meal if we want to wait because ticket times are bad. No, we don't want to wait, maybe if you made our food right away. But another wait time... NO THANK YOU!! So frustrated!!
