The pipe to our bathroom sink broke and leaked under our house where the pipe goes underground. I first called a plumber my next door neighbor recommended as that couple had recently had some work done. That plumber asked if he could cut a hole in my bathroom floor instead of crawling under the house. He also wanted me to crawl under and take pictures with my phone so he could see what was needed. I called Pete Fer Plumbing. Years ago, they had rebuild the floor heater under my small old San Pedro house. The Pete Fer plumber came out, crawled under the house, looked at the broken pipe and gave me a reasonable estimate. He came back the next day and dug up the old pipe and replaced two segments. My air conditioner needed refrigerant added. I had this done previously in the past, once per summer (2x last couple years). I hired a new company because I saw that they were local. The technician that came to work on it and I discussed this when he got on site. He checked the system and confirmed that it was low. He told me he didn't have enough on him so he would need to return to the office to get more. He arrived at 9:15, brought me the receipt at 12:15. He attempted to charge me for the full 3 hours even though he was gone for over an hour. He removed one hour after sharing that I thought he should have come prepared. I called the office and explained to them that I still felt like I had been overcharged as it doesn't take more than 30-45 mins to top off the refrigerant (based on the last two tech visits from other companies, they only charged an hour). I requested to speak with the owner (not available) and then requested they review the invoice and confirm it was appropriate. No response. To be fair, they were responsive, sent out a tech the day after I called and left a message. The tech fixed the immediate issue (adding refrigerant) and the system is cooling the house as expected. read more

Had a kitchen sink that needed to be replaced along with a facet and garbage disposal, the plumber came in took a look under the sink and said it couldn't be done, I'd have to hire a contractor to build a support for the drop in sink I had already purchased. He made it seem like it would be a complicated job that he wasn't able to do and then he left. I found another plumber the next day who did the whole job extremely easily, quickly and professionally. If you want a job done I'd suggest going to a different company because this one makes simple tasks out to be impossible ones. read more

I had an emergency major leak from broken pipe relative to kitchen sink plumbing. The repair was made successfully the same day. The plumber, Anthony, was diligent and professional. He did not have all parts on the truck but I had a unique pipe need for conection to dishwasher so that is totally understandable. Very good plumbers. We had them out to change a faucet that was left broken by the previous owner. It was in our kitchen sink. He brought a really nice Delta faucet with a pull out sprayer. He was on time. Ready to do the job and left no mess. So we were pleased. Called them again because the wet bar in living room is leaking. Probably a tail piece problem. Had a leak under my kitchen sink which caused water damage. Called the insurance company and they told me to call a plumber and get it looked at right away. I picked Pete Fer plumbing because of the solid reviews. So I called them and let them know my situation and that I was dealing with an insurance claim and wanted them to come so everything was documented. Can't say if they do good work or not. They did not do any work at my place just turned on my dishwasher and confirmed that water was dripping from the dishwasher. Was there for 10 mins and collected $160 from me. I don't really post many negative reviews in general but if I had read the review I'm posting here I would not have used them for my insurance claim. My insurance company contacted me a couple months later and said they wanted a statement regarding the work Pete Fer plumbing performed. I went to the office twice and was told I would b contacted and never was. All I wanted was a signature on a letter that said they came looked at the washer turned it on and water was leaking from it. That's it, nothing more, I even wrote the letter all I need was a signature. If u have an insurance claim the insurance company will try to screw you so make sure you use a good vendor for repairs. Not sure this is a gd place to get the repairs done. read more

The worst experience with this company. We had pipe leak at front yard. Since it is under palm trees the service guy suggest to by pass around the trees. After the work is done our whole front yard sprinkler doesn't work anymore. Now, the service guy doesn't even know if the leak is from the pipe or sprinkler. We were so upset and want to talk to their boss. But he refused to talk to us over the phone and his excuse was he wasn't the one doing the job site so he doesn't know anything. I am not sure what to say to that. They also add more hours that they didn't even work for. So we negotiated the amount that we owed since they mess up our the sprinkler system that will cost us more to fix it. They agree to accept the amount and took the check. Now they tried to sue us for the rest of the mounts left. We are very disappointed with this company. read more

I scheduled a service call for an estimate. I told them I was available 9-12 or 3-5. The lady on the phone stated someone would call that morning to let me know when they would be here. The day they were suppose to come, nobody called. After sitting around all morning, nobody called or showed up. I called around 3pm and after getting the recording I pressed 1 to schedule an appointment and a man answered the phone with one word, "yeah". I verified I was talking to Pete Fer plumbing and he said "yeah" again. I needed to have a clogged pipe cleaned out for an upstairs bath in my mom's home in San Pedro. They not only quickly fixed the clog via the cleanout at the back of the house but also informed me that the cleanout access was no longer adequate and quickly replaced it to the current code at no additional cost. We have used Pete Fer a couple of different times for residential as well as commercial. They were able to locate an old circulating pump for us and installed in a timely manner at our place of work. This was very important and it was for a 4 story office building. At our house we had a leaking Galvanized steel pipe from our main connection to copper, it appears the old homeowners did not want to run the copper all the way to the main. i found this company to be dishonest in backing up their warranty. i called their service billed me 167.00 for two hours work which should have taken 15 minutes to change out valve, plus an additional 50.00 service charge for what i do not know, and $10.00 to use their vacumum...these costs were not told to be prior to work being done..i was only aware of hourly rate, but i did not think it would be two hours...plus the work they performed failed and i asked for a refund they refused to honor the 30 day warranty...had another company come out did the work no problem at all..i am very unhappy with this company read more
