Was led here by New York Magazine's "Best Thanksgiving Pies" article and was not disappointed. Picked up seven different pastries and all of them were superb. The highlight was the pumpkin carrot pie - beautifully presented , really delicious, and fairly priced. The woman behind the counter was really helpful and patient with explaining their offerings. The cream puffs are so good. There's a delicious fruit jam in the middle that I didn't expect. My favorite is the passion fruit one that tastes like the actual fruit. The frosting is really good and not overly sweet. read more

Desserts were very elaborate but nothing made us want to come back or reorder. They package the eclairs very carefully for delivery

Apple puff, chocolate and passion fruit eclairs were my pickings. Favorite was the apple puff with its ample apple filling, sweet crust and vanilla creme. The eclairs were good, delivered on its flavors but tad too rich. Apple puff was delicious and likely would get it again. read more

Way too expensive for what it is. Flavors are good overall but, ironically given the name, the chou pastry on the hazelnut eclair and the craquelin on the passion fruit & guava puff left a lot to be desired (too thin, too soft). The chocolate supreme was good, though the caramel was a touch too salty. The flan is way too stiff (seems like they might put gelatin in there) and, again, the pastry on it was not good. read more

Delicious pastries! They are handmade and each treat tops the one before. We tried quite a few things on the menu and I can not wait to go back. The strawberry macaron tasted so fresh, the peanut butter jelly was absolutely amazing!! The mango & coconut eclair was outstanding and it had a bonus a mini macaron on top. Another delicious treat is the everything bagel croissant with jalapeño cream cheese - if I could, I'd have it every day! There is no place in the city that has treats as fresh, delicious and creative as Petit Chou. read more

A HIDDEN, DELICIOUS GEM!!! I have sampled a few pastries over the months and gifted even more to friends who loved them too. Each one is beautifully baked and decorated, and taste amazing - the raspberry eclair, strawberry puff pastry, banana cream, pistachio with chocolate, etc. Bassam is a truly gifted baker, and the staff is friendly and helpful. For a lunch event this month, I ordered a lovely Strawberry Cheesecake (without the bottom cake layer) and the divine Tropical Mango Coconut Passionfruit cake, both Gluten Free. The cakes were a hit at our family lunch, and people were blown away - gorgeous, special, and not overly sweet - each one, perfection! A lovely treat for yourself or others - I highly recommend Petit Chou!!! read more

One of the best bakeries I've tried in NYC. I found this place on Instagram and decided to try them just based on the sheer beauty of their pastries. These pastries did not disappoint. We had several of the weekend specials and each one seemed better than the last. Not to mention, the chocolate chip cookies are insane. This bakery is just a delight! From the warm welcoming staff to the beautifully decorated pastries. Everything looks so amazing that you might want to just stare at it all day instead of eating them. But the moment you take a bite, it is out of this world. You can tell everything is handmade with love and is fresh and no artificial flavor. I also have to thank the chef for their ham and cheese croissants, my two year old wouldn't eat anything at all but cereal in the morning and when I tell you she DEVOURED it, she really devoured it ! Walked in pleasantly greeted by the kind staff. Left with some amazing and light, yet large, ECLAIRS (not "donuts"). Highly recommend the passionfruit blueberry cream puff, but get to it early, those are their best seller! Went to pick up pastries for holiday celebrations. I got the flan, some eclairs, and a chocolate torte (forget it's actual name). All baked to perfection and not too sweet. The flan was a real treat- the card s a little firmer and stands up well to the crust. Of the eclairs, which were all tasty, really loved the hazelnut. This bakery is pretending to be gourmet with their $7 donuts. Since when do you fill eclairs with heavy chocolate frosting that tastes like it should be on top of a grocery store birthday cake? Cheese danish wasn't impressive either, especially not for 6 bucks. It made me really miss the Paris Baguette that used to be on 1st Ave a block away. I see that they make cakes as well, so hopefully those are better than the window pastries. Two stars for being basic and ridiculously priced. The third star is in hope that it's a place for cakes and not the place you stop in for a pastry. read more

I love the eclairs and cream puffs here! I tried the chocolate eclair, almond croissant and pistachio & raspberry cream puff and they were all great! There is a generous amount of filling, everything looks exquisite and the employees are super sweet and do a great job with packing treats to go. It is a bit on the pricier side but everything I've tried here has been A+ so far and I am looking forward to trying more of their pastries! read more

"M R" must have been drinking before he/she went there. This place is absolutely the finest French pastry shop I have EVER walked into and I have been around quite a long time (I collect Social Security so do the math). Bon bons are delectable. Croissants are impeccable. I ordered a custom cake with two European flags on top and I have never seen such extraordinary work. The owner/pastry chef is a wonderful middle eastern young man with an unsurpassed talent so exceptional he should be given a show on Food Network. Yes, he is THAT good. flan and eclairs are top notch. texturally on point, flavor-wise a hit. tend to prefer chocolate, coffee, and vanilla pastries to fruity ones, but that is a personal preference. friendly staff, clean store. have yet to have much from their cookie/croissant case--will have to be back to try! read more
