Somewhere between four and five stars depending on the items, but if you like sweet confections, you have to stop by. They're a bit on the sweeter side, but very well constructed, especially their cream puffs and eclairs (anything with the choux pastry.) We've had most of them, and they're all interesting and delicious. I found their croissants to be solid but I wish they had more distinct flavour and texture, as they tend to be a little on the soft side and mild. Didn't like the cinnamon bun as much either. The chef also seems quite friendly. Speaking for someone who wants to see small businesses thrive, please go support this bakery and this chef. FWIW, meaningfully better in sweet pastries than Patisserie Fouet, which is a few avenues away, and mysteriously packed. No shade on Fouet, who seem to be lovely nice people too. read more

Terrific cake order! The chocolate caramel cake was truly one of the most delicious and beautiful cakes I've ever had the pleasure of enjoying. It was for a special occasion, and the glossy chocolate finish, chocolate collar, tiny decorative macarons, and the sophisticated personalized writing made it as pretty as it was tasty. I ordered the hazelnut eclair and that thing was HEAVY! It was filled with smooth and silky hazelnut cream and the chocolate on top adds a nice crunch to every bite. I got to try some items from this place with TooGoodToGo a few times. Everything we got each time was so delicious. The almond croissant is probably the BEST I've ever had. It's chewy, soft on the inside, and there is so. much. flavor. The chocolate croissant isn't just your average choc croissant - it's filled with this creeaaammmy milky chocolate and not just a tiny dab of it either. But hands down favorite is this peach croissant thing. Not sure if that's what it's actually called, LOL. I've been to Petit Chou several times since their grand opening and they do NOT disappoint! The pastries not only look beautiful but they taste incredible! They're not too sweet like some places where you need a liter of water after taking one bite. If you like savory, my favorite item is the jalepeño cream cheese roll - y'all, THIS RIGHT HERE?! It's like having an everything bagel with cream cheese that has a little kick to it. If you want something sweet...I'll try to list my favorites but there are so many! The mango eclair is like biting into a real mango! Plus, it's decorated beautifully - you can really tell the attention to detail. The pastries are delicious, however I went to this place because Yelp said they had vegan options and they did not.

If I could give this establishment more than 5 Stars, I would. The desserts are unlike anything that I have seen before and I have traveled the world. They are artfully presented that my first time there, I took photos. It is difficult to make a decision on which dessert to purchase so you may end up buying more than one. My favorite among many is the seasonal Pumpkin Spice Cheesecake, the Kalamansi Tart and the filled Donut that you can only get on Saturdays. On the other side of this shop, they have oversized Chocolate Chip Cookies, White Chocolate and Cranberry Cookies as well as a Rocky Road. They are all amazing to eat. In terms of the Savory section, I have been to Paris numerous times and I have never had a better Ham and Cheese Croissant. After my previous review, the owner was kind enough to reach out and rectify my previous experience. We went back and tried the passionfruit and guava cream puff, hazelnut eclair and quiche. We went back earlier in the day around noon, and had a better experience with the dessert. Our favorite was the passionfruit and guava cream puff, the passionfruit curd hit a good balance of tart and sweet, I actually like it a lot better than the bibble and sip cream puffs which sometimes lack flavor. The hazelnut eclair was good but not for me, and the quiche was quite delicious warmed up but a bit too buttery for my personal taste. That's like preferring papa johns over Artichoke or Robertas. I've gone to this place multiple times and even gifted friends some eclairs, croissants, no complaints, their vegan option was apparently delicious. I've been coming to this amazing bakery since it opened about a year ago. It was in the middle of COVID and my family was delighted to see such beautiful pastries in the window. Boy were we blown away when we tasted them! Our favorites are passion fruit/blueberry, the chocolate supreme, the hazelnut eclair, the lemon strawberry eclair, ohhh the pistachio eclair is also out of this world! I could go on and on. Petit Chou has become our go-to bakery for birthday cakes and all celebrations! My husband surprised me with the salted caramel cake for my birthday last year and this year we got the mango coconut for my son and my neighbor!. Sooo delicious! Bassim, the owner, is such a wonderful man who followed his dream to open a bakery. He studied his craft in Paris and returned to NYC to share his talent with us! On a side note, Bassim went out of his way to make a special birthday cake for my mom today even though he was swamped with Valentines Day orders this weekend. He made the passion fruit/blueberry, which usually requires two-days advanced notice. Bassim felt sorry for me and did his best to make my mom happy! He also decorated it extra beautifully!! I didn't really understand the hype behind eclairs until I came to this place. It's a bit on the pricey side, but it's a taste that would make me come again. The chocolate eclair in the inside is so smooth and it definitely gives you a feeling of luxury. Every bite was so creamy and chocolatey so if you're a chocolate lover, you have to try their chocolate eclair. I also liked the passionfruit blueberry puff. I wasn't sure if the two will mix well, but the sweetness of the passionfruit on the outside complement the tart taste of the blueberry. What a great combination. Just incredible. read more
