    Cocktail hour
    RoseMary F.

The owners are a husband and wife team who created the theme and their own original recipes. We ordered a seafood tostada and Blackened Ahi Tuna, a beer and Paloma cocktail. The Paloma is served in a cute clay ceramic cup. Each meal was nicely plated and delicious. I would definitely order the Ahi Tuna again. There was one bartender (Cesar) on duty. He was very busy handling the drink orders for all the customers. It was quite entertaining watching him make each order. The outdoor patio is quite large and a super popular hangout for lunch, dinner and happy hour. As you enter the restaurant, the hostess station is by the door. Straight ahead is the bar. To the right is the main dining room. The left-hand side has tables and seating for the bar area. Make reservations to minimize your wait time. Sincerely, Rosemary

Pez is a hop, skip, & a jump from my office so I stopped in for a quick drink. This modern Baja eatery serves sustainable, coastal Mexican dishes. The restaurant is spacious and airy with a festive outside patio. I had a seat at the bar where I was greeted by a darling bartender named Brianna. She was very personable. Since the summer heat was starting to set in, so I ordered a Cucumber Jalapeño Margarita because it sounded refreshing. Brianna mixed it up perfectly. It was nicely balanced - not too sweet with a little bit of spiciness. I regret that I didn't have time to order food or enjoy more of my conversation with Brianna. She deserves 5 stars! Now, I have an excuse to come back for Happy Hour. Happy Hour Tuesday - Friday 3 - 6 pm

Spicy Ahi Tuna Tostadas - yummy!

I made a reservation for a group lunch, which went smoothly at first. We were seated indoors in a very stuffy, hot area--keep in mind it was 90 degrees outside. Fortunately, they did accommodate our request to move to a cooler spot. However, service completely disappeared after the food arrived. It took nearly half an hour just to get a to-go cup. We had to flag someone down for water refills, takeout boxes, and finally the bill--which already included an automatic 20% tip for a large group. It's frustrating not to have a say in the tip amount, especially given the lack of attention. The food was mediocre and overpriced. Overall, not a place worth returning to.

Been here multiple times since it's so close to the office. We usually come here for lunch or happy hour. They have a good happy hour menu incudes small bites and drinks. As for their lunch menu it was ok. I got the grilled octopus and it was so so. My friend got the shrimps cocktails and it was good. Will try other items next time.

A decent lunch spot for an office building. I came here for a celebratory promotion lunch. Although it would not have been my first choice, it was enjoyable. The Caesar salad was good but quite salty. The short rib was tasty. And the tres leches cake was just way too sweet! We had chips and salads when seated. The salsa was fresh but the chips were a biiiit greasy. The staff were quite friendly. It wasn't the best service due to the very large party but they did well enough. They have outdoor dining would looked pleasant. We were seated by accordion doors which were nice as we could get some fresh air after being in an office from the morning hours.

Chips. Too thick, but seasoned well.

Service is good and staff are nice. However, I would never go to this restaurant if I had to pay, I've only ever gone when our auditors treat us. For mexican food, this place is very average. Nothing is seasoned well except for the chips, but they are too thick. Thin chips and salsa are best. I have never notices the prices (bc I have never paid), but im assuming this place is pretty pricey for what you get.

Two Taco Combo with side salad

After a long meeting, my colleagues and I decided to try out Pez Cantina, and it was fine. The cucumber jalapeño margarita was awesome 5/5. The guacamole and chips were so so. Way over salted and seasoned. The two taco combo (had the carnitas and the chicken tinga) - on the otherhand was bland. The side salad was delicious but the two tacos were overly chopped and frankly I could barely tell you which was chicken and which was pork - both lacked flavor. Service was nice and friendly. I would come back for a salad and a few margaritas.

This was our second time dining at the Pez Restaurant. Lupe was our server and he was great, he answered all our questions and had we had great dinner for my birthday. The outside seating was perfect withe LA Buildings all around us, there was an outside four piece Latin band playing great music . I had the surf n turf that was great and can feed 2 to 3 people. My wife had tacos rice n beans. The margaritas are really tasty and compliment the great food.

We had such a nice time at Pez Cantina! We ordered the Campechana with shrimp and octopus, packed with fresh tomato, cucumber, cilantro, avocado, and the option of red or green shrimp broth. We also tried the ceviche, fire-roasted fajitas, and tacos, and everything was delicious. Portions are generous, so you definitely get your money's worth. The afternoon vibe was great with soft music playing, which made it feel relaxing and casual. Service was fine, not super quick but friendly enough. Parking is in the basement and can be a little confusing, and even with validation it is still paid, but honestly the food makes up for it. If you love seafood and flavorful Mexican dishes, this is a spot I would happily visit again!

My company hosted me and my co-workers for Happy Hour. This also included Happy Hour food items that were placed in roll top chaffing dishes. The restaurant is esthetically pleasing and the spot was busting with a great vibe. Our server was hustling, polite, attentive, and very friendly. The drinks were well crafted and food was very tasty and flavorful. We all had a great time and we'll definitely be back!

Pez Cantina had great bar food--the nachos and pupusas were our favorites--but the real highlight was Cesar behind the bar. He was super friendly, made awesome drinks, and made us feel right at home. Definitely the kind of bartender that makes you want to come back

Wow top quality food here. Everything we ordered was really good. Food was fresh and good quality and portions for the price. Staff was A+, super nice and on the ball. Menu has lots of tasty options to choose from. Bar and drink menu looked great. Interior was clean and hip and fun. I will come back for sure....

Ask the Community - Pez Cantina

Is there music playing and/live music Saturday evening?

During the summer, they have extended hours and live music on the patio until last call. I believe they still have a DJ on the patio in the fall and other seasons, but they don't go all night long, to my knowledge.

Do you do bottomless mimosas during the week?

    Are there taco tuesday deals?

Where's the outside seating located ? Does it get cold or windy out there?

They also have a la carte, hot pot, etc. We had crew set which includes 1.4 lbs Manila clams, 2 whole shell oyster, large clams, shrimps, mussles, scallops, octopus, potatoes, served with korean ceviche, steam egg, pancake, spicy rice cakes, korean noodle soups. There are 3 different dipping sauces which are delicious. It is a lot of food. You definitely get your money worth here. The staff is friendly and attentive. They cooked the seafood at the table. The air ventilator is pretty good but I probably won't wear my must dry-clean clothes to dine here. Overall, Burnin' Shell did live up to its hype!

Wish they had Kumamoto oysters but their selection was more local. - Clam Chowder (7/10) Wasn't terrible, but I prefer a more thicker chowder. Still, at $9 a cup I would give it another try. Found Oyster is located in East Hollywood, on the same street where Saffy's is. It can be a bit hard to find street parking nearby because of neighborhood rules, but we managed to find a spot after circling a bit. The restaurant is very small, but it has both indoor and outdoor seating. I think the size of it adds to the charm. It also has a nautical theme inside and a New England feel about the place. The seating options inside are either at the bar, or tiny high-top tables. For appetizers, we shared the peel and eat prawns, half a dozen oysters and the sicilian crudo. Everything was good, but the servings were smaller than I expected. I also think that the peel and eat prawns would have been pretty mediocre without the special sauce. For mains, my husband got the lobster roll, while I had the mussels. His lobster roll was good, but in my experience it's hard to go wrong with buttered lobster on bread served with fries. My mussels were fresh and tasty. They were good, but nothing to write home about. Service was friendly and efficient.

I think the sauce was a little too light for me as well, but overall still a solid dish. Cioppino - Also a little lighter in flavor and I think just smaller in size in comparison to price. We opted for the grilled halibut and seabass dishes with garlic bread, rice, salad, and ceviche. Even though it was a little cool from the rainy weather, it was still nice enough to eat outside in an enclosed patio with electric heaters. They also have two restroom facilities for any bathroom needs. The main area where we ordered was also where we picked up our orders. We also had the option to call ahead and place orders for pick up/to go. Those were processed in the Seafood Market section (where they had different fresh fish and seafood options). The food was pretty good--opted for garlic butter sauce for the fish and it was the perfect complement to the halibut, but the sea bass was honestly so tender that it needed no sauce. The garlic bread was also pretty tasty and a juge portion, but the ceviche, although good, was a smaller portion than expected. It was fresh and quite flavorful and came with a side of chips. There are security guards at the entrance so there are no transients loitering. I got the shrimp and scallops plate and a clam chowder. I thought the plate was ok. Fries were cold .but everything else was fresh but again, nothing stood out. The clam chowder was not salty enough. But it had so much clam pieces! The garlic bread was amazing. I love garlic and this alone was their saving grace. You can taste the fresh garlic and butter! Overall I wouldn't come back but I do see that there are A LOT of loyal patrons. So I would suggest to give them a try.
