    Traxx Collins
    Chelsea B.

Such a cute little place, not the newest amenities, but it has a lot of charm. My sister and I got some snacks & drinks here after we got arrived on the train. Our waiter was super friendly and attentive! I appreciated the drink rec, I ended up getting the Collins. The brussels sprouts were delicious, and we also really enjoyed the prosciutto toast! We ended up coming back before happy hour ended at 7, but we went to Traxx Bar instead of the restaurant. If you are solely looking for drinks, I recommend going and sitting at the bar. You can sit at the restaurant but the server has to walk all the way from the bar and give it to you, so it's probably easier on them if you use the seating area at the bar (there's plenty!) just a tip.

Ice Tea at $5 - Refill Policy One Time Only Chopped Salad at $16

6/25/2025 - Arrived at the L.A. Union Station at 2:45 PM and found that the next available Metrolink train is at 4:30 PM, decided to stop by at TRAXX Restaurant for a casual dining. The ice tea is very good, and the signature burger is 4 stars - the meat is never-frozen, but freshly grounded. Unfortunately, the meat has no flavor, but tender and juicy! My waiter service is 5 stars - very friendly and came to my table four times for refilling the Ice Tea once (one refill is allowed only) and delivered the burger, etc. Sincerely wish some billionaires can donate some money to upgrade the TRAXX sofa (See the photo for details) to enhance the ambience of the restaurant and image of the L.A. Union Station. No free WiFi access is available at the restaurant - Wish the L.A. Union Station will provide a FREE WiFi there, similar to a large shopping mall or many Asian Nations' Railway Gateway where a FREE WiFi has been provided by a centralized organization (e.g., LAX Free WiFi). It would be a pity when LA 28 begins if the L.A. Union Station does not provide a FREE WiFi access from the richest nation on earth!

    Chicken Cutlet

Traxx is truly a hidden gem inside Union Station! We had an amazing meal here and were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed everything, from the food to the atmosphere. We ordered the chicken cutlet ($19), which was house made and full of flavor, served with fresh herbs and a tasty house-made pesto that really tied it all together. The Birria grilled cheese ($15) was another hit; incredibly rich and satisfying with tender braised beef, melted cheddar, and a perfectly crispy, Parmesan-crusted sourdough. Definitely comfort food done right! You can also add fries or a side salad (we went with the Cesar salad - definitely worth the upgrade). Generous portion and refreshing. The ambiance here is so nice & nostalgic. They play jazz throughout the restaurant and bar (which has its own Yelp page), which creates a relaxed, timeless vibe that feels like a step back in the best way. The staff were super friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. There's also a large outdoor patio on the restaurant side; it's tucked away and feels like a quiet escape in the middle of the station. A perfect spot to unwind or even host a special event/dinner. Traxx is absolutely worth it. We'll definitely be back!

    Grilled cheese & tomato soup
    Jeremy S.

Our big group sat outside, and it was my first time trying out this restaurant. The weather mostly felt nice and just a tad chilly at times. We had the grilled cheese & tomato soup, Traxx burger, chicken panini, veggie burger, and hummus. I ordered the grilled cheese & tomato soup ($16) which also came with a free salad. Including my share of tax and tip, I paid $20.40 for my meal. I liked dipping the sandwich in the tomato soup. It reminded me well of comfort food, and I felt full afterward. The tomato soup's texture leans more on the thinner side. The menu didn't say that the grilled cheese & tomato soup comes with a free salad, but our server let us know when someone ordered it. I initially wanted the chicken panini but switched at the last minute. Regarding the dining experience, I had the impression that our server got surprised that we had ten people in our party. I felt neutral toward the customer service here because the server didn't feel welcoming to us. Regardless, the restaurant accommodated all our requests.

This was a great experience for me. The perfect escape from the beautiful chaos happening in Union Station. Service was fantastic and the food was great. Stopped in before catching a train. Will definitely be keeping Traxx in mind for future commutes. Calamari was a huge surprise. A lot better than I expected. Crispy and plentiful. Birria Tacos were also pretty good and the perfect snack before resuming my travels.

Cool Art Deco vibe and very clean. Service was slow. I had to ask for an update on my one item that was already 30 min wait for toast. When I received it I was soo disappointed. It was obviously burnt , very hard and cold. I had to ask for my refund and I hope to see that in a few days. I guess restaurant can burn toast. Two stars for the ambiance.

Before taking the Amtrak to Santa Barbara, I came early to Union Station to explore this gorgeous building and take time to have lunch. I was super happy to see they had a great sit down option at Traxx right past the entrance of the station They had a private event happening on their patio so I opted to sit on their interior patio which offered great AC and people watching seating I went with their popular grilled cheese and vegan tomato soup combo. It hit the spot! The soup doesn't have a traditional creamy base and was a bit light on seasoning...so I added a few dashes of Tapatio which boosted the flavor a couple notches The ambiance was great and staff was super friendly. Shoutout to James who was awesome Will come back to try more of their delicious menu items on my next trip from Union Station

I have been here a few times for dinner but this was first time for brunch. I made a reservation, was asked to confirmed reservation 3x, noted it was celebrating a birthday and gave no preference on seating. I arrived on time, but one of my group was parking. There were a few people milling around and I was greeted with "checking in?" No hello, no welcome, no mention of celebrating and told to let them know when entire party arrived. (This is becoming more common to be seated along with a $25 per person fee if I canceled less than 24hrs. I know restaurants are struggling but come on!) I watched as 'walk-ins' were given priority tables and when our party was complete, she was squeezing in a 3rd chair to a small cafe table right by the pass through door. No asking our preference. When she returned to seat us, I said "you're not putting us at that small table are you?" Her response - "yes...unless you want to sit inside." How was that not a conversation first? A professional would have said "I apologize, where would you prefer to sit? I see you made a reservation, are celebrating an event and we had some unexpected guests for seating options." Perhaps she was having a bad day, or was still reeling from a prior customer interaction but she was NOT up to the standards I equate with Manuela. My mom ordered a biscuit. The server asked whether she wanted butter, and she also requested jam. There was no mention that either would cost extra, yet the bill included $1.50 for butter and $1.25 for jam. I ordered the double cheeseburger and asked for a slice of tomato. That added another $1.50. Then, on top of everything else, every table is charged a 3% "Happy + Healthy" surcharge. I expected to pay extra for oat milk in my chai because it was clearly listed on the menu and that's become fairly standard. The "Happy + Healthy" surcharge was also listed on the menu. The butter, jam, and tomato were another story. Those charges weren't disclosed when we ordered and felt like an unpleasant surprise at the end of a mediocre meal. Unfortunately, the food didn't justify the nickel-and-diming. The "crispy" breakfast potatoes arrived whole, not cut into pieces, and were firmer than crispy. The chai had an odd aftertaste. The burger was overly salty, and the biscuit tasted like it had been sitting around since the day before. It certainly wasn't warm or fresh from the oven. The cleanliness was also disappointing. The seat cushion where my mom was supposed to sit was visibly dirty. When we pointed it out, our server explained that guests sometimes bring dogs or put their feet on the cushions and that they try to clean them weekly. Weekly isn't enough. We were the first customers of the morning and the only people there when we arrived, so it would have been easy to seat us somewhere clean. To be fair, the courtyard is beautiful, and the staff was friendly and attentive throughout our visit. Those positives, however, couldn't overcome lousy food, surprise charges, and cleanliness issues. We won't be back.

They are creating unnecessary obstacles and dont have enough staff to justify the dead silence for the hours you will wait to receive anything - nothing is bussed - nothing is cleaned and nothing will be addressed during the times you could easily leave without paying for the bill. We will be back but will need to plan for a small meal before as this spot cannot handle the high demands of a very very very small seating footprint.

My friends, wife, and I had been looking forward to trying Linden for quite some time, so we made a…read moreFriday night reservation with high expectations. Unfortunately, we left feeling more disappointed than impressed. To start on a positive note, we were seated on time, and all four of our cocktails were well-made and enjoyable. Unfortunately, that's where the positives mostly ended. Our overall dining experience lasted over 2.5 hours, which was simply excessive. We were seated outside, and for most of the evening we appeared to be the only table outside being served. Despite that, everything moved at an incredibly slow pace. Several items we ordered were either never entered or never brought out, which only added to the frustration. For appetizers, the Caesar Brûlée was the biggest disappointment. It honestly tasted spoiled and had an unpleasant aftertaste that made it difficult to enjoy. The Curry Corn "Ribs" had a nice flavor, and the Lemon Pepper Brussels Sprouts were easily the favorite dish of the night. The $23 bread basket, consisting of two fish-shaped pieces of cornbread and four small pieces of focaccia, felt very overpriced for what was served. For our entrees, we ordered the For Goodness Steak and the Bama Smoke smoked chicken. The steak itself was cooked to the requested temperature and had good flavor, but it arrived only lukewarm, which took away from the experience. The smoked chicken breast was tender but lacked seasoning, and the Alabama white sauce wasn't what we'd expect from authentic Southern-style Bama sauce. We were also excited to try the restaurant's famous oxtail pot pie, but unfortunately it had already sold out by the time we arrived. What made the evening even more disappointing was the lack of hospitality. When we expressed our frustration about the long waits, we were told they were busy inside--as if sitting outside somehow explained or justified the delays. Had we been informed that outside service would be significantly slower, we could have made an informed decision or at least adjusted our expectations. Even more surprising, during a meal that lasted over two and a half hours, not one manager or member of leadership stopped by to apologize, check on our experience, or acknowledge the obvious service issues. Overall, the food was average at best, with a couple of standout appetizers, but nothing that justified the lengthy wait or made us eager to return. Service and hospitality are just as important as the food, and unfortunately both fell well short of expectations. Based on this experience, it's highly unlikely that we'll be back.
