Came in 1st thing at 11am, craving a great philly! Ordered the 2 Philly cheesesteaks hoagie style with lettuce & tomatoes plus hot peppers too. Got home to devour my food and one order was missing the lettuce & tomatoes plus the hot peppers, ugh! The food was pretty delicious but upset my order was messed up. This place has been one of my favorite places to stop in when I'm in the Virginia Beach area. All their sandwiches/ hoagies/ subs what ever ya'll call it is always made fresh with ample amount of toppings their deli pickles are supper yummy and as I write up this review my mouth is salivating I have been up to Philly and tried Pat's and Geno's (advertised on Diners and Dives) and Philadelphia Cold Cuts by far surpasses any of those places up in Philly. So if you are looking for an outrageous burst of yumminess stop on by and check out their massive selection sandwiches/subs/Hoagies.. Stopped in today and the cheeses steak was great and the fries were piping hot! The bread was very fresh and slightly toasted... but not to much to sacrifice the softness! And the meat wasn't so juicy that the bread was soggy. The cheese on the sandwich was perfection. They have 3 sizes, 6" ($5.75), 10" ($7.99), and 17" ($10.75). Getting into the parking lot is tricky but there is plenty of parking. The place is a little divey/small but getting to go is an option. No room for big groups but 5 booths and 3 tall top tables. So although my husband's cheesesteak was delicious (for the area), my Reuben could definitely use some work. The flavors were okay but the bread was cold & soggy. Because this is Virginia Beach, I wasn't expecting much but a little effort would have been nice. read more

Second visit was the best ever. My fiancé brought me a sub from them before and it was good but he let it get cold so I didn't enjoy it. I went there after a 3 1/2 drive yesterday because I didn't feel like driving anywhere else. It was so nice in there and the cashier was such a sweetheart. I was greeted with a smile, which is rare to me. I'm from N.C and I've noticed some ppl have that I hate life attitudes around here but not this lady. She made me feel like I was home. While I was waiting for my food she was busy cleaning the storefront window and sweeping under a nearby booth. I swear I love a clean establishment ... She actually brought my food to me. It smelled so good I went to the nearby 7/11 for a slurpee and ate in the parking lot. Best sub I've had in a while. It was stuffed with meat, cheese, peppers and onions. I could have made another sandwich with all of that meat and I had the small. If you have a big appetite they have two more sizes. I also saw a salad on the menu that contains quinoa and glazed pecans gonna be a hard choice my next visit but I'm definitely going back more than a few times. Feels good to be out of town and get a nice greeting. Can't post a pic because my greedy butt ate the model before the session lol but I will add one after my next visit. read more

I am really disappointed with my first visit. The cake we ordered was solid as a rock. I ordered a club with no lettuce and no mayo. Had both. Took 30 minutes to get our food. On top of it all I was told the grill was closing half hour before close. Loved my sandwich. Kind of a shame so many businesses these days have these issues. So much promise. read more

I ordered a Philly cheesesteak tray on a Friday afternoon, to be picked up on Monday afternoon for a business meeting. Simple. No add-ons, no extras. When my coworker arrived to pick up the order, it wasn't ready. She was then given the wrong order and charged over $20+ more than I was quoted over the phone the previous Friday. 20 minutes later, I received a call to bring back the wrong order. While on that call, I checked on the status of my correct order. I was told that it would be ready by the time I got there. When I arrived, the cashier didn't know how to refund the credit card charged and my order wasn't even started yet, let alone ready. I stood around for SEVERAL minutes waiting for my order that should have been ready for pickup 30+ minutes before. The manager came out to refund the card, but couldn't operate the POS system either. No one was really apologetic or concerned, which further irritated me. When I arrived back at work with the correct order, the food was mediocre at best. I haven't eaten here in a minute, but decided after becoming disenchanted with Iggles CheeseSteaks on Va Beach Blvd, because they started skimping on the meat, which threw off the bread/meat ratio for a good sandwich! I decided to give it another try. You see, I had stopped going to Philly CCC because although the sandwiches were huge, the cheesesteak beef was not up to par. There was grizzle and fat in the meat. Well, let me tell you, this place has had a great makeover, and now offers along with other new items, delicious Rib Eye Steak! I ordered the Biggy w/Fried Onions, Sweet Peppers, Ketchup and Light Mayo. Well after waiting a long time, it was Friday night After 7p y'all, The most delicious juicy, packed w/meat, cheese and down right goodness of a CheeseSteak was delivered to my table! I can't say enough about the excellent quality, cleanliness and professionalism of all the employees. These sandwiches are very good and the same next week as today with good quality control. Ok, so I have been craving a steak and cheese for weeks now. After having a horrific one at the Mellow Mushroom in Newport News last weekend and based on positive reviews I decided to give this place a chance. First impression is that the place is a hole in the wall, though it wasn't overly nasty just old and worn down looking. The first thing that I noticed was the large selection and variety of chips and drinks, A+ there. I ended up ordering a mini which is the 6" sub to go. It looked seriously tiny in the paper that it was rolled up in but ended up being quite filling along with a 20-ounce soda and fries. The fries were a little on the salty side for me. Personally, I like a plain carry out style fry so I can add salt, pepper, and loads of ketchup. They weren't bad fries per say, just briny tasting. The steak and cheese was actually pretty good. Maybe I should have gone light on add-ons to get a better feel of what a plain sub tastes like but I'm an add-ons girl so.... Next time I'll definitely ask for extra lettuce and peppers since those were added lightly. There could have been a tad more meat, but the bread was A1. Total price for a 6-inch sub, fries and drink $9.91. Though I'm used to cheaper prices for a sub in DC I will definitely be back since out of the few places that I've tried (Iggles included) I've hated. Overall, I give the place a 4/5 because I took it home and it was a bit soggy not the restaurant's fault, I'll update the rating later if a repeat visit in-store results in a close to perfect sub. read more

I got a "little" cheesesteak - 10" a drink and chips. The staff are nice and the value is good for the quantity, but the quality of the cheesesteak was average. The bread is excellent, but the steak is lacking in flavor and authentic preparation. The steak is below average in quality and over cooked to mask this. The cheese is small in quantity and mixed in the grilling too soon. The overall result is a soggy sandwich. Too bad, because the ladies there are very pleasant. read more

Was just in Philly last weekend any ate at both Pat's and Geno's and I must say this was better. Similar to Geno's but the "wiz" was not as salty as Geno's and PCC's had more meat. Not intimidating to order like it is in PA and the staff was very friendly! read more

I'm in the process of training for a Triathlon, which means I eat a ton. After a fairly strenuous Saturday workout, breakfast and two lunches, I was still hungry and in the mood for something greasy. I decided on PCC over Iggles based on the stellar reviews here. Overall, the steak wasn't that bad. The bread, Amoroso's is classic philly and what all steaks should be served on. The mushrooms, however, were canned and thus clearly not sauteed with the steak, but that is something I can overlook. The big complaint I had was about 3/4 of the way through my sandwich, I bit into it and got the overwhelming taste of something that shouldn't have been there. I can't say for sure what it was as the partially chewed cheesesteak ended up on my plate within seconds, but it was definitely of the industrial chemical persuasion. I'm pretty sure when I'm at Pat's in Philly, a "Cheesesteak With" does not mean with something potentially toxic. For now, I'll stick with Iggles for my post-workout cheesesteak cravings. read more
