I just ordered the classic cheesesteak sandwich. The price on the board and the menu states $12,49. I paid, but the amount charged me (which included tax) seemed much higher than usual. I asked the girl how much she charged me for the classic cheesesteak. She stated $13.49, contrary to what the board or menu states. I checked their prices online, apparently, they increased their prices. Beware that the price in the resturant menu or board may not be what the actual price they charge you. read more

I wanted to give Philly's best a 3 1/2 or 4 stars because the cheesesteak itself deserves four stars, perfect amount of cheese and meat combo, the role is chewy and soft as it should be. But fancy ketchup is not fancy and not how we do it in Philly. The fries are where they lose points though and would get a 1 star if that was all I was rating. French fries have to be pretty bad for me not to eat them, And in this case they were just soggy unsalted brown potatoes, not worth eating. I didn't take a picture of the cheesesteak because I was busy inhaling it but you maybe you can see how unappealing the fries are. Horrible customer service. I drove from 30 minutes away to buy two cheesesteaks. I arrived 10 minutes before closing. I was told they are not making any more food. Linda was completely disrespectful and derogatory in walking away and shooing me off with her hands when she was finished speaking with me. I don't know who that woman thinks she is but she needs to watch the way she speaks to people. Even as of this review the store is still open during business hours and they still would not prepare my food. I asked Linda when they stop cooking and she told me "when they feel like it". Missing items and claiming that I was lying about not receiving my onion rings. Ordered a hoagie , cheese fries, onion rings, and a drink. Called the business back and the person on the phone said I definitely put in the onion rings, I was willing to FaceTime to prove that I was missing my onion rings and cheese sauce. Was told I could come back to get the items , I'm 15mins away and don't have time before working to make another trip back. I asked for a refund on my credit card for the items missing and was told I would have to drive back with my CC to get a refund. I have enjoyed the Philly Cheesesteak on several occasions, though it could use a bit more meat. The bread is great. I also order a side of cheese fries, though the cheese could be more flavorful. I recommend dining in as the fries usually get soggy when ordering takeout. Maybe they could poke a few holes in the top cover that holds the fries to release some of the steam so they don't get too soggy on the drive home. So I recently came back and it looks like they started filling it back like the way it was so I am very happy about that. The employees face said it all, that look were you are disappointed that a customer just walked in. He offered to make a cold sandwich only, nothing hot as they had already cleaned the grill. One of the best Philly steak sandwiches I've had here in the valley! We drive from Reseda to Encino for these sandwiches. The place is inside a plaza at the Encino commons, lots of available parking and next door to Michael's. My go to is simple, a plain steak with grilled onions. My man's go to is the tuna sandwich philly's way. We usually get the combo with French fries / onion rings and a drink for about $24. The bread they use really brings the sandwiches together.
