I always order here, the pizzasteak is to absolutely delicious!! They are always quick and the food is so yummy!! Today was my first hiccup with them in a few years of being a customer. I ordered Uber eats and recieved the wrong item. I got refunded by Uber and placed my order with them a second time, stating in the notes the mistake they made previously. They made sure to click "ready for driver" as soon as the order came in, and my new order was picked up and delivered in 15 minutes!! They also send a couple free coca-colas, and a punch card with a 5 punch head-start!! I came here because I heard rumor of the secret menu item, "The Pastrami Best". I'm a huge fan of Pastrami, so I came in to try it. I looked skeptikally at the cashier, as my eyes wandered over the menu. Nowhere did it say pastrami anything. I thought for sure that my leg had been pulled. So, I begrudgingly said... Pastrami best. The place is in the encino mall center type of thing. it wasn't really hidden. parking was a bit packed at lunch time. i ordered philly's best, per recommendation of the cook. it was about $13.50 with taxes for a combo. the food got ready pretty fast. the bread was nice and soft, the meat was the star of the show however. juicy, seasoned, creamy, savory, it was an amazing experience. the meat with grilled onions, the bell peppers, and mushrooms really added that touch of earthiness and goodness to the meal. the fries were nicely cooked and crispy. the whole thing was really nice and would def recommend. It's truly the ONLY place I've found in LA that is a brick and mortar that serves a decent Philly. I've been to Philly and had over a dozen different Phillys and THIS place has the closest thing to it, bread from PA and chopped rib eye and whiz. God bless them for it. I come here whenever I head to Michael's so it's a good pick me up before I shop. They have a frequent buyer punch card also that's always good to get punched towards that freebie. It's clean and quick. The staff here are really nice and I like seeing the meat being cooked by the line cooks... it smells so good. The only thing is people who have Lexus', BMWs, and Audi's are all DB for making their own parking spaces along the michael's curb because 1) it's a red zone and 2) it makes it a tight squeeze to get people in and out of spots and 3) it adds difficulty for pedestrians who need to get to their cars that are actually parked in spaces. Finally found a good cheesesteak in the valley! I'm not very picky when it comes to my cheesesteak/chicken cheesesteaks, but authenticity is key. Here I get that nice, hot goodness. I have been craving a good cheesesteak for a little while now and after being extremely disappointed by another place in the valley, i remembered I wanted to try Philly's Best. I only need 3 things on mine besides meat: cheese, sweet peppers, grilled onions. I went with the chicken and peppers with white american and grilled onions. Oh. So. Good!!! The cheese was melted perfectly, i didn't need to get double meat to be satisfied, fries were good, and everything was piping hot. Did that stop me from still trying to eat fast? Nope. The bread was also soft and warm and the size was perfect. I'll honestly probably be back later today because once i have my craving for a cheesesteak, it lasts a few days. I just walked out of the Encino location furious, disappointed at the service and communication and staff. I put in my order in at 2:54 and at 3:20 when I asked how long it would take the girl at the register stated..."not ready yet" at 3:25 I checked the orders and said I think this is mine she said no that's not yours. Then at 3:35 she figured out that the order I had been staring at for 10 minutes was mine, she spelled my name wrong. I was furious at the incompetence of the staff and I walked out with cold food and the worst service. I will not be supporting this local business ever again. So I was in Wwodland Hills today and have been wanting to try this place. The cashier and the cook were very nice. It is very nice and very clean inside. I made a special request which they had no problem with. Since I was going back to Simi Valley to eat I asked for extra foil wrap to keep the food warm and they were very happy to do it. The sandwiches were delicious, both my husband and I loved them, pretty good onion rings also !! Thinking back the only thing that bothered me a bit was...there was a gentleman whom I believe to be the manager if not the owner. He walked past me several times while I was standing waiting for my order and he never once acknowledged me. It's an insult to Philly and the whole state of PA to call this place "Philly's best"! The meat tasted like it was cooked on a dirty flattop, had greasy onions and there was so little cheese, I had to poke around the sandwich to find it. Seriously, it's in the name..CHEESE steak! Pastrami cheese fries and Philly's best sandwich. Omg. The fries were heaven. They had a tiny bit of crunch but were super moist and soft (in the best way possible) as soon as you bite into them. I loved every bite of the pastrami accompanied by the gooey warmness of the cheese. Most places you will have a few fries left bare but NOT here. There was a perfect pastrami & cheese to fries ratio. I may not be from the 'City of Brotherly Love', but I am from the next state over (Ohio) which means I have spent much time in Pennsylvania. This naturally means I know a good Philly Cheesesteak sandwich when I see one. As cheesy as it sounds (pun!); the Philadelphia choir angels have sung at Philly's Best. Philly's Best is located in the Encino Commons shopping center/plaza next to a Yogurtland and Michael's craft store. Parking is simple as the lot is large and spacious. The actual eatery is medium in size but very airy (high ceilings) and calming when you walk in. Instantly greeted, there is an air of friendliness here while the floors, tables, etc are quite clean for a fast-food type environment. It is very surprising in the best way possible. We were made to feel very welcome by the female on duty who was all smiles and quite pleasant. She must have passed the Philly's Best orientation with flying colors because she knew the menu back and front. Philly's Best offers cheesesteaks, veggie versions, chicken sandwiches, hoagies, salads, and burgers. It's the sort of place you take your man friends to pig out. All of the sammies are served on Amoroso bread which is direct from Philadelphia. An extra cool detail? Philly's Best has Wise brand potato chips and Tasty Kakes! I haven't seen either of those since my days in Ohio! Of course there is also a plethora of pickles and cherry peppers available to pop in your mouth while waiting for your order. My boyfriend ordered the Philly Cheesesteak (steak sandwich with white American cheese) and added mushrooms and onions. You can also choose between cheeses (American, provolone, or wiz -- which is known as the cheese battle in Philly in terms of what you prefer on your sammie). He's never had Wise brand chips so he also grabbed a bag of Salt & Vinegar chips. The sandwich is LARGE (great for sharing) with tender meat, perfectly melted cheese, and great flavors. The buns are soft and flaky resulting in a heaven of Philadelphia cheesesteak flavors. This truly was near the perfection of the real thing. Not good for the waistline but great for the tummy. For those who like to watch TV while chowing down; there were a few televisions available for viewing. I don't think I stressed enough how clean this eatery is and how pleasant the employee was. Not only did it make a great experience but encourages patrons to return (hopefully not to be let down the next time). Closest thing to a real philly cheese steak. I've had my share of the real deal cheese steaks back in Philly and you have to have wiz on it for it to be close to the real thing. I just happened to stumble upon Philly's Best while coming back from an appointment, I was hungry and wanted something different. I was greeted by a friendly female and male who gave me a menu to look at instead of looking on top of their board. I asked them for suggestions and they recommended the Philly Chicken and cheese and I added mushrooms. Wow this bad boy was nice and hot and definitely cheesey and chickeny, it had a perfect blend of peppers, sweet and juicy. I even got some pickles on the side to add some zest.
