Extremely impressed with the staff! Super friendly, extremely kind and boy do they move quick. I stopped by to try them out today for the first time in my food was ready in no time. Not just that, but I was greeted at the minute I walked in. They totally make you feel welcomed. The dining area is completely spotless. Now for the food, I had the LA Philly meal which includes fries and a soda. It was so so good! Will definitely be going back! The bread was nice and moist without being soggy, their house made Wiz cheese is fantastic. Looking forward to trying on things on their menu.

This is not going to be for me. Want to have my party catered and so I order delivery to try them out. Crispy chicken wings- no crispy to be found, rubbery- tiny to be $2 each Cheesesteak- overall made me sad, inconsistent burnt char, no seasoning, breads empty end. $20 a pop is gonna be a no go. Quality reality does not match the hype of their videos

Anything you order from here is off the chain. I've had the both cheese steak and spicy chicken sandwich. Today the Philly cheese steak fries, so good just had to leave a review.

; It's not what I expected. I thought I would be in for a treat with a local gem cooking up authentic Phillys. I ordered a ten piece chicken Hot honey and Hot lemon pepper; The spicy LA with Wiz and Cooper, & a side of fries with additional Wiz for dipping. Now, in my favor I thought they was on top of they shit when I seen the Cooper cheese as an option but upon making it back home to devour the haul I was distinguished by the low quality. It's not prepared with angus steak cuts. The ranch was of a low quality and no taste. My wings were bland and flavorless. The cool faces and humble demeanor made me think it was #goodeats but I'll have to say it's not

First time trying and I've gotta say, as a person who don't usually like to eat cheesesteaks... this one was fireeeeee. Soooo delicious. Portions were amazing, service was amazing, ingredients are fresh, and price was decent for the portion. Definitely recommend if you're in the valley come here and visit them. Their Jawny sauce is too die for. The steaks are fresh and cooked in front. They're very clean and keep it clean. Chairs are provided with table. Outdoor seating. Parking is limited.

Last time I came here I tried the wings and it was amazing! So I had to run it back and get a 50pc order this time! Went with the hot honey and it's easily my favorite!

Tried Philly Boyz and overall it was a solid experience with a few standouts. The Chicken Cheesesteak was full, flavorful, and definitely satisfying, no skimping on portions. One sandwich was more than enough, and honestly, I'm glad we didn't order fries because we were already stuffed. The 215 Philly, however, was a bit underwhelming compared to the chicken. It wasn't bad, just didn't have the same punch or wow factor I was expecting. One small wish: I'd love the option to order half a sandwich, the portions are generous, which is great, but sometimes you want variety without committing to a full one, or you eat like I do and can't do a full sandwich justice. All that said, I'm excited to see what they do with their brick-and-mortar location opening in April 2026. Definitely a spot worth checking out, especially for the chicken cheesesteak.

Love it - long line but it moved really quickly and food was ready pretty quick too. Nice roomy area to park and eat in/near your car, or there are tables and chairs set up. Loved the cheesesteaks and will plan to come back!

The half of my sandwich with no MEAT!!

I was born and raised in Philly and this was definitely NOT A Philly JAWN !! It was seasoned very well but I was so disappointed... First for paying $21 per sandwich as the delivery fee was an additional $3 per sandwich ( instead of 1 fee for the entire order) Second for only getting a 1/4 of the meat typically found on Philly Cheesesteak this was outrageous!! There was mostly mushrooms opinions and cheese with very little steak... in fact on one 1/2 of the sandwich the meat didn't even cover the bread... see attached photo! They had the nerve to charge $8 for extra meat ... in Philly, you don't need extra meat!!

Jawnys is fire. I forgot the other name they went by but I've been frequenting them since then. I love a good cheesesteak even going as far as going to Philly for one and Jawnys could definitely compete with sone of those east coast staples. I usually order them on Uber Eats but you can pick them up if you feel like. They don't have much of a seating area since it's in a parking lot but somehow folks make it work. If you don't order before hand you may have a small wait but it's cool because there's usually people around to converse with so it helps kill time. Definitely hit them up, I'm no expert but I think they're doing one of if not the best cheesesteaks in SFV

Philly Boyz Cheesesteak with White American Cheese, Onions and Hot Peppers. Stellar to eat under the stars.

Finally stopped at Philly Boyz for a late night cheesesteak, and now I'm angry at myself for not stopping much, much sooner. The nicest guys on the planet cooking up excellent cheesesteaks to order on a well-seasoned grill that imbues the meat with just the right flavor and char. Fresh rolls flown in from Philly get lightly toasted and neatly cradle the very generous serving of meat, cheese and whatever fixings you decide to add. I had them chop in their hot peppers, and that gave the sandwich a serious pop of vinegar and heat. I came at a slow time, so my sandwich was made quickly, but now that I've had my first taste, I wouldn't mind a wait if that's what I encounter in the future. And as we know, this operation is a pop-up at the Fashion Square Car Wash in Sherman Oaks, so the ambience is nighttime parking lot chic. And that's perfectly fine for such a fine rendition of a meal that has always been a casual experience. I'm told they're opening their brick & mortar shop in February, and I'm betting they'll have lines out the door. Way to go, Philly Boyz.

I ordered the chicken strips with fries, while my partner ordered a two-piece chicken dinner with macaroni salad and spicy rice. Although we had to wait a little while for the food, it arrived hot. We both agreed that it was some of the best fast-food fried chicken we had ever eaten. The chicken was moist and the batter was crispy. My fries were good, and my partner's macaroni salad and spicy rice were both flavorful. We especially loved the biscuit. I also couldn't help noticing that although the dining room feels like something of a relic, it is very well maintained. There were no dirty tables and no trash on the floor. I was genuinely shocked when the cashier came out to ask how everything was and whether we needed anything else. Most fast-food chains seem determined to eliminate as much human interaction as possible. Pioneer Chicken was a refreshing reminder that fast food can still be friendly, clean and satisfying. Pioneer Chicken is a winner in my book!

In a not very obvious area of DTLA, next to Urth Cafe but no other restaurants. We didn't have reservations so we had the option of sitting at the bar or following the waitress to a back room area instead of the front room that is visible to everyone. My son is a minor, so to the back we went! Seriously, the closer we got to the back room the more I felt I had been cast in "The Chef." Scary! Lol! The back room is black. Blackout black! Black tablecloths, walls, chairs, dark, low light. Very luxurious and open space. Which - because it wasn't full at the time - felt a bit like being in the film, The Menu." A bit too upscale and empty to feel comfortable. More guests arrived later, a large table, so that was more comforting. The food: Recommended *Kara Kara Tamales: braised oxtail with a peanut butter sauce. Wow! The taste was wonderful! Hard to explain but Filipino/African food meets Latin food. It was on the "shared plate" menu, which to me means it will be a lot. But the 2 tamales were not very big. Still, they were so rich that the 2 really were sufficient to share. Quite filling. I couldn't get enough of the sauce! *Crab fried rice: Very tasty and generous portion. Plenty share! Not recommended: The street eats menu. Now, this is what pulled us in - the sights and smells of the food being grilled outside the restaurant. Most of which was on this meme. Like a tasting menu. But for price to portion ratio, it simply isn't worth it. I ordered the skirt steak. 4 oz, cut in half. Cooked down to what looked like .5 oz! Each on a toothpick sitting in a paper plate (or maybe it was cupcake holder?) IDK. I just know it wasn't a good presentation and the taste wasn't memorable. Regular. More grill smell than taste. Not at all worth $8. Service: Really nice. And mostly good. Though they did fail short by (1) Using only small appetizer size plates and (2) Not bringing a fresh plate to eat the crab fried rice on after the peanut butter sauce laced tamale appetizer was eaten. The server brought the fried rice, but didn't bother to give us fresh plates (nor silverware). My son was mortified when I grabbed a plate from one of the empty tables! (Teenager energy on full effect). But after initial attentive service, the variety of different servers whizzing by didn't stop to ask if we needed anything. And I sat waiting at least 8 minutes staring at the rice. I assured my young man that the servers would be fine with me getting another plate to save them from having to. And once I did, he suddenly started eating from my plate of my peanut butter free fried rice. And of course, when a server did attend to us and I let her know, she was glad I took matters into my own hands instead of not eating for 15 minutes. Thoughts: Go for dinner, and order from the full dinner menu, skip the skimpy street eats menu. With reservations you can sit in the main restaurant area that has some view to the outdoors. Without it - back to the black room you go! Know that it will be expensive. And it will be original. Not sure I'll go back. It's very "special occasion" upscale dining. But If I do it'll be with reservations. The meal was memorable and worth experiencing.
