Been here twice so far. The staff is friendly and accommodating. My go-to is the mint mojito. I'll be back plenty more times hoping to try other things on the menu. Their pastries are also really tasty. The only thing that could be difficult is parking because it's street parking outside the coffee house. read more

I have to admit, I'd never been to Philz before today. But today I had time and a need to camp out somewhere and work, and Philz it is. I ordered the mint mojito since that seemed to be the overall favorite of the yelp reviewers and the most common order being called out. Well, I can't tell you what it is, but it's good. Honestly I have no idea what's in this thing (the only description is "fresh mint, sweet, creamy") but I like it. I do wish they actually described what their drinks were because I really have no clue what I'm drinking and I'd normally like to know what goes into my body. $5+ for a cup of run of the mill coffee?! Uninspiring. I was shocked at the register and had to confirm with two different employees that the order I made was $5+. They assured me it was and that it would be the best coffee I ever have had. It wasn't. I will stick with my Keurig before going back to Philz. read more

The three ladies who were closing today were so sweet! We had a HUGE order maybe 14-15 drinks? And right before they were closing they had to open another bar again but they didn't mind at all! This was a disappointing experience. No app, then no coffee for you. After standing in line, the window agent informed me they were only serving customer orders made through their app. Further, the credit card machine was down and they weren't accepting cash. Yummy coffee, per usual! I usually say "never say never", but I honestly haven't met a single unhappy or unpleasant employee here.

The store is on the smaller size and only has a handful of tables on the inside, and 3 big ones outside. People are always super friendly to share a table, but most of the time you have to go somewhere else if you want to just talk or work while enjoying your coffee. Coffee is amazing, as any other Philz. Their Mint Mojito (iced) is my favorite and keep craving it every time I walk by. You can order it with less percent of sweetness if you think it's too sweet. I always get it 50% sweet. I have never tried their food, but it seems like it's very popular and see a lot of people getting their pastries and toasts, so they must be good. read more

Philz Coffee is really delicious. Their many beans are blended with other flavors to give each cup of coffee a unique flavor. They also sell bags with most of their beans, though their beans just don't have the same taste as when they make it. read more

Starting off with a new review for this new year! I've been to many different Philz locations and this location is growing on me. It's less crowded, friendly baristas and the drinks come out pretty fast! I've decided to give myself a small break from my usual coffee selection of Mint Mojito, Canopy of Heaven, Soooo good, and Philtered soul, so I've decided to try out their green tea. I'm quite surprised on how good it tastes and wondering why I didn't try it out earlier! They will also add honey and mint leaves if you'd like. I definitely recommend adding those if you like mint or sweetness! I'll be back to try the rest of their teas except the chai since I've tried that before and it's definitely not my cup of tea! read more

So I would give a five if we are only talking about the tesora and the iced mint mojito. Those are a must try at Philz and they are amazingly delicious coffee drinks that put Starbucks to shame. If you want to try really good coffee, then you got to try Philz. There are some annoyances though when you get Philz coffee. First, the lines are long because they are popular. But the lines are also long because it takes a while to brew your coffee. Now if you have the time to wait, then go right ahead and order the tesora. You will not be disappointed. However, if you're in a rush, looking for a quick caffeine hit, or ordering for a group, you might be waiting 20-45 min. Unfortunately, that's the cost of good coffee.. time and convenience. But also not everything on their menu is worth the wait. I tried the tesora and mojito and those are the bomb. I also explored a couple other flavors and they were just Meh.. I recommend they just stick to the good ones and not try to offer so many options. read more

In the 3 days I was in SF I was at Philz 3 times. I spent a few days in Carmel and each day I found myself saying I wish I could find a Philz. The coffee was a such a delight from the harsh brews of most other coffeehouses. I love the Tesora. It is a medium-bodied coffee that has a very buttery, nutty and almost deep caramel flavor. I can't wait to come back to have more. This is the only location I enjoyed and though parking is a bit of a challenge, I always found a spot - morning or night. read more
