A very busy store and rightfully so. This place crafts unique takes on coffee with a selection that can cater to anyone's taste buds. The staff are busy but kind -- I have been here a few times now and the staff always greets and takes my order in a kind manner. There is so much foot traffic with people coming in and out... that would drive me crazy but they are calm & collected. The drinks come out in a timely manner with the amount of people ordering. If there is a long wait, that means there are a lot of orders and we just have to be mindful as customers of that. The durian coffee is definitely my favorite -- Every drink that I've had so far has a base of Vietnamese coffee. Then there is either foam or a concoction of the menu item in the drink. For example, the durian coffee (my favorite) has just durian foam on top. It is sweet but has a smokey flavor, that is the best way I can describe it. Durian itself is very pungent. However, here there is a slight pungency but does not overpower the drink. I have also tried the ube coffee, that one is not my favorite because it has such a thick concentration of durian syrup or paste at the bottom and it doesn't mix well. The pandan was okay. There's nothing wrong with it but I'm also not a big fan of the flavor itself. However, I am sure lovers of the flavor would appreciate it. There are also tables for people to either study or conversate. I haven't tried to study here but will provide an update once I do. Two words: Banana matcha. I know the focal point should theoretically be the coffee, but unfortunately I can't speak on that quite yet LOL. When I saw people's glowing reviews regarding the banana matcha I had to try it and my usual need for coffee subsided and my need for matcha became stronger. (Though I will be back to try their coffee because it's only fair and duh, an excuse to come through again). All I have to say is I was thinking about their banana matcha for a hot minute after having it. I got the banana matcha in less sweet and this was the "sweet" spot for me hehehe. It wasn't overly sweet and had enough sweetness to really do it for my tastebuds. I think what made this banana matcha a really big standout for me is that it didn't have that artificial banana syrup taste. A total win in my book. Especially as a banana fan. I'm a fan of pandan coffee/matcha and I've seen a lot of people post about Phin Cafe! I came on a weekday and it was a full house. This location is within a plaza so parking isn't that difficult. I ordered a pandan waffle and a pandan coffee. They were both ok. Their pandan waffle is more cakey. The pandan coffee came with a cute egg roll as a "straw." It was a bit stale but it's a good touch with the pandan coffee. I'd come back but will cross my fingers for a crunchy fresh egg roll next time. read more

Seems this location changed their menu a little over a month ago. They still have a good combination banh mi sandwich but now only have 4 basic fruit teas. They use to have a decent pineapple tea but no longer. No longer do they have any jelly toppings. I was told because it took up so much counter space? I tried their supposedly new berry tea which was just strawberry tea that I feel like it could be the same one I tried and posted already. They have a medium and large sizes. My husband found Phin Cafe online and I am so glad he suggested we come here for our afternoon pick-me-up. The baristas were very friendly and kind. They also put a lot of great care into crafting their beverages. I was having a tough time deciding on what delicious matcha option I wanted, but I ultimately landed on an iced Ube Matcha with oatmilk substituted. This is so ridiculously good, I wish I had ordered 5 lol I'm also sad that I'm rarely up here for work because I'm going to be craving this for months. My husband got the Peach Cold Brewtra, which has a subtle floral note that compliments the peach nicely. He's very much enjoying it. The space was also so cozy with tons of plants and beautiful décor. I finally found a good quality sandwich when I ordered the grilled chicken banh mi. I was impressed mainly with the freshness of all ingredients most noticeable the chicken was amazing and cooked in some kind of sauce ! I would have come back for this sandwich every day. The Vietnamese style coffee here are quite good! I'm always looking for Pandan flavor food and drinks, and not many places offer Pandan flavors or places don't do it well. But Phin Cafe makes a really good Pandan coffee. They've made all the drinks I had well. It's pretty busy on the weekends but the staff has always been friendly and patient. The store offers seating and it looks comfy but I haven't stayed to enjoy my drinks. I do recommend the brew black coffee with condensed milk over ice, the Ube matcha latte, the Pandan coffee, and ube coffee. read more

Tried 4 drinks this time around. I've come one other time to try coffee but I've been trying to see if I am a Banana Matcha boy, and as it turns out...Definitley not (at least from here). I'm no connoisseur of matcha. In fact I am of the school of thought if it is emitted by your lawn mower, it doesn't belong in a drink. But I digress. Unfortunately, and I say this without any expertise, I feel like the matcha in my banana matcha wasn't bloomed properly - it was like drinking a muddy (albeit sweet banana flavored) sand that sort of left your tongue feeling like Velcro across the top of your mouth. Doesn't sound great right? Yea, well it wasn't. Well, suffice it to say I needed to try one of the other iced teas we got to get the flavor out of my mouth, and restore the moisture level to a proper human level, not the mission hills during a 107° heatwave. It was some Brewtea perhaps, cold brew peach and another called Queen. When I asked what the queen tea was, the cashier just sort of shrugged like it wasn't any of her responsibility to understand what she's selling on the menu. She did attempt to ask the guy behind her, but there is some sort of vibe in this shop where they all seemed really inconvenienced by each other. I wish I knew why one of the workers was yelling at her colleague "You didn't hear what I said" as she's trying to make change - who knows. Well, after my 2 attempts at this place, my overall feeling is - there's better, there's nicer, there's less expensive out there.
