Came here to try the pho. I had the pho filet which was three dollars more than the regular pho Tai. At $10.75 I expected extraordinary but the meat was not tender at all. The broth was okay but a little on the sweet side for me. We ordered the bun ca nha Trang for my kids which they ate but they kept asking for water in between. We will probably come back to try their other dishes. Also tried their snow ice (mango, strawberry option)-- no fruits just jelly and fruit pops. It was tasty but the snow itself was already sweet, i would probably forgo the condensed milk that came with it in the future. Took my family here to try it out and see what all the rave is. Also all 5 stars so I had to try it 1. It's new and clean this I agree 2. The service to me was alright. The staffs is friendly but not attentive, they just the order, being food out other then that they don't come and check up on you to see if you need anything else. 3. I love their hu tieu mi go and pho bo kho. They're so good. The bo vien(meat balls) that come with the soup are unlike any other typical pho restaurant. There's a really nice crunch to it and the meat is so fresh. They also give a decent portion for their noddle dishes. I typically had to share with whoever I went with. They are light, but filling and totally satisfying. The dipping peanut sauce is outstanding. -Bun Bo Hue - Hue Style Beef noodle soup with lemongrass - tasty and delicious. When I'm craving for something spicy, nothing feeds my palate more than this delicious soup! -Bun Dau Mam Tom - vermicelli, Vietnamese herbs, pork belly, fried tofu and cha com (Cha com is made from pork, but like its name indicates, it contains a few green rice flakes) served with "mam tom" sauce, which is made with fermented shrimp paste. The flavor is hard to describe, it smells like hell but tastes like heaven, so it's usually the case either you hate it or love it. Many people can't even stand the smell, but for those who love it, just even think about it will make them crave big time. If you don't like the idea of "mam tom", there is an alternative: ask for the sauce you get with egg rolls, fish sauce, instead. -Pho - Delicious. The broth here is flavorful, as well as the basil, bean sprouts and jalapeno. Service - quick and friendly and the establishment is very clean. The waitstaff is good, but may not be that attentive. My bun dau mam tom was pretty good, especially the cha com, the fried tofu was crispy and the sauce was okay. My bf said the bun cha was good too. I tried one of his pork and it was so tasteful. It wasn't a language barrier. I speak fluent Vietnamese. Anyhow, after we got our orders in, we waited and waited and waited. Not sure why it took so long. The restuarant was pretty dead. So the pho finally arrives. Where is the freaking lime and plate of veggies? It felt like a monumental task just to grab their attention. Now we finally get to eat. Trying to find a good pho place besides the one by my house in diamond bar is very hard! I was going to the pho place a couple doors down from here but when I went inside it smelled really weird. I cannot describe the smell. So I decided to come here instead. I only go the pho with rare beef and tendon. Everything was pretty good except the broth. It was really strong. I had the pho that came in 2 bowls and it wasn't too bad. I wouldn't say it's great, it's difficult to eat, I just put it altogether and it tasted fine. I wouldn't say it's the best pho, but I haven't had anything like it before. The meatballs didn't have much tendon in them, a bit smalll and light on texture. My wife had the fish soup which she enjoyed. We tried the sauteed corn appetizer which was way overcooked so the corn was hard and chewy, nice try but definitely needs some work. What this place had surprised me quite a bit was the refreshing glass of water. I knew the instant I tasted it that it wasn't your average filtered tap water, they served alkaline water. I have to say that may have been the best part of the meal. Not too sure this place will survive in this location but I think if they work on the execution and delivery consistently good food it will have a chance. They definitely put some work and money into the decor, but better to put that effort into good food because in this part of town no matter how nice you look if you don't have the food to bring in the customers they won't come. read more
