Went for the first time today and I love this place. Been to a bunch of Vietnamese restaurants around the Bay Area and this is one of the best. Great food and the service was fast and friendly. The pork and shrimp egg rolls were crispy, flaky and well seasoned. My vermicelli bowl with pork and tiger prawns was fresh and delicious. The tiger prawns were grilled really well - not overcooked or rubbery. My son had the plate with three types of pork, rice, egg cake, etc. My wife had a vermicelli bowl with just pork. All were crowd pleasers. I'd definitely come back for pho because everything was so good. Stop in if you're shopping at the Livermore outlets and you won't be disappointed. read more

I rarely crash out, but this place made me so upset. 4.3 stars? If this place is 4.3 stars, I'm a unicorn. I have been to dozens of pho spots across the world, and I have never been so let down. I'm Asian and you can count this as a credible review. Do not come here, do not waste your precious time, money, and calories on this place. I have not been so disappointed in a restauraunt in years. Oh man, let me paint you a picture real quick. I handpicked this spot that was #4 on Yelp and drove out 15 minutes out of the way bc I trusted the reviews and pictures. First of all, you're basically paying $20 for a bowl of large bowl of pho. $18 for a medium. You will not pull the bowl trick on me. There was probably 4-5 bites of noodles in my large pho and 3 thin slices of meat. I measured my large portion to my girlfriend's medium portion and I just felt so disrespected. Both portions were the skimpiest thing I've seen. I'm not trying to be cheap by any means - I don't care about how much money I pay for food if it's good. I'M A REAL EATER. But for pho standards this is taxed - and if I'm paying this much for a bowl of noodles, it better not taste like dishwater. I told the owner how I felt as well. He thought I refund would make up for it but I would rather he just did a better job. He knows back home that this bowl is $2 to $3 dollars and he is serving a disgraceful bowl of pho. I get we're in Livermore, but don't try to serve some lazy gentrified flavorless pho. Also the Vietnamese iced coffee just tasted like some vanilla creamer. Do you know how hard it is to mess up a cup of Vietnamese coffee and a bowl of noodles and soup? No spoons or napkins at our table as well. We asked for napkins multiple times, they never came. I had to go to the bathroom to get napkins to wipe off the grease on my hands from these 3 eggrolls for $12. Every pho spot I've ever been to, they take your order within 5 minutes. This place took almost 15 min to take my order and it wasn't even packed out. This place is STINGY and a RIP OFF. Service is horrible, food is horrible. I've never had a pho spot make me feel so out of character and crash out like this. Disgusting, wouldn't come back here if you paid me. I feel betrayed by all these reviews. Do better owner. My mind is blown I even have to write this review. This was a disgrace and I was embarrassed to come here. Update after 48 hours: I had diarrhea and hit the bathroom probably 4 times after lunch. Response to owner's comment: Of course there wasn't any food left on the table, there was barely any to begin with. You think that if I'm starving and going to be paying $20 for a bowl of pho I'm not going to eat it? I was complaining loudly about the poor service and food quality at my booth the whole time for everybody to hear. My girlfriend looked you in the eyes and asked for napkins as well and you ignored her and walked away. I walked up to the counter to pay (because who knows how long it would take to get a bill to the table) and when asked if everything was ok, I gladly let you know. We tried to get your attention but the service was horrible and you ignored us. How would anybody hear about it until then if no staff was attending to us? So let's not attack my integrity on this one and act like payment was ever an issue. I promise my disappointment for bad food outweighs any monetary value on any day. Yes, there are plenty of restaurants in the area, but I specifically chose yours and made a big mistake. Learned my lesson! read more

We ordered spring rolls and chicken pho. The spring rolls were fresh and the peanut sauce tasty. The chicken pho was another experience. The chicken was rubbery and overcooked. The soup temperature was tepid. The service was not very good. We had asked for an extra bowl and napkins. After several minutes, I had to ask another server for the bowl and napkins. A few Vietnamese places have been at this location, and this one has been the best so far. It is in the small shopping center across the street from the SF outlets on the side that has has the tesla superchargers. The same shopping center has the drive through starbucks but this place is to the left of that. The nice thing about this place is that they have a pretty extensive menu well beyond pho, so you can find a good amount of meat and rice dishes in addition to just soup. It costs a little more than typical pho places but it is worth it. Great service and ambiance too. read more

Me and my cousins were looking for a new place to eat after going to the Livermore outlets. We came across Pho Ao Sen. As soon as we entered they greeted us so kindly and seated us fast. My review has changed since coming. There is a asian lady that I assume is the owner. She knows nothing about her menu at all. You can say you want something as simple as a pho with meatball and she will ask you what number it is. Shouldnt you have that memorized? Every time i pay at the register she asks what my table number is. Lady, do i look like i work here? My go to for pho in the tri-valley now! I've really enjoyed the pho & the com tam here as well as the spring rolls. Great flavors and portions are perfect. The pho ga does leave much to be desired though. Broth had good flavor but chicken was extremely dry and tough. Service is generally good, but our first time here I believe we were helped by the manager and she was a bit rude and unaccommodating. She spent the rest of her time sitting with a group of her friends instead of working with her employees and helping them out...felt kinda bad for them. The vibes here are immaculate! It's such a pretty restaurant and the set up is so pretty. We got the shrimp spring rolls and 01 and 05 pho. They also recommended the Thai tea to us since we wanted the Vietnam coffee but it was too strong to drink at night. Got sat down and didn't get provided menus. Next group came and got sat with menus so they ordered before us even when we sat first. Besides that the manager became attentive and the food was good. We got #1 phos and appetizers of egg rolls and nam spring rolls. Although the food was yummy the family came down with really bad stomach ache afterwards and was stuck in the bathroom. We were excited to try this new restaurant and support a local business. However, we had to wait so long for our food to come out - almost an hour. With kids, this is an extremely long time. We had a guest that has a shellfish allergy and they were not very helpful in substituting items - they said they could only give her more pork and no other option. She wished there were more options for vegetarians or people with allergies. The food came out sporadically so trying to eat together meant that some food was cold. We even walked outside for awhile and the food still hadn't come out. Also the food was expensive for pho. Overall they have a lot of things to iron out in terms of efficiency and customer service. I was shopping at Livermore outlets and was craving for a bowl of hot pho. I was surprised that this pho restaurant is adjacent to the outlets and today was their grand opening day. I had their bowl of dac biet and I it was very tasty and delicious. The meat was tender and the hearty broth was just perfect, complemented with with herbs and spices. I've enjoyed every bite to the bottom of the bowl it with a glass of their Vietnamese ice coffee. Tasty and strong with bold and nurture flavor profile. The hosts and servers were friendly and polite people. I got to meet several of them as they were training together and ensured I had a pleasant experience. I would highly recommend this place as it's one of my new favorite pho restaurant in Livermore. A definite must if you love authentic Vietnamese cuisine. read more
