Hidden away from main roads is this wonderful little place. you always hear it's the little hidden places that are the places to go for the best food. This is one of those. we eat here weekly. It's a good pho restaurant. I come here very often, maybe 2-3 times a week. I live near by and also work near so it's one of my fav spots to come to. Pho here is not too expensive, good pho and the meat is delicious. I also ordered sea food fried rice from this place, it was delicious! To have come to this place for so many years, Today's visit was absolutely the worst. Upon arrival, no one was there to greet us, simply sat ourselves in the back wasn't a good idea but in the past, it was never an issue. Until, a gentleman who I never seen in the past years walks over, stands over the table and angrily stated, "he would not serve us because he felt disrespected we sat ourselves" after being spoken to like little children, making sure he got all his feelings out, then throws 2 menus on the edge of the table. the tone and look on his face was so disrespectful that it was the FIRST time my friend and I ever walked out half empty restaurant. I guess thought he was in Vietnam. I'm in the restaurant industry, it didn't take a second to do the right thing, get out of there! On the way out, the lady and guy spoke in their language thinking we didn't understand. Guess again, understood the foul language that was used. I've been coming here for quite a few years now. I can definitely say the service has gone down quite a bit since moving from that area a year ago. The service has always been terrible. I don't think I have ever tipped a full 20% because they honestly don't give a damn whether you enjoyed your experience or not. They're always incredibly rude and rush you to get done. The food is really good. That's the only reason I keep going and the fact that it's kinda hidden so it's never too busy. It's such a shame they make such yummy food but the service is enough to never come back. Last night I had an experience terrible enough to cause the decision to never step foot in there again. My boyfriend and I got there about an hour before they close at 9:00 pm. When you first walk in the sign says to wait to be seated so that's what we did. We noticed that the servers were eating in one of the booths but waited patiently for them to notice us. When they did they didn't even walk towards us. They just stood up asked if we were 2 people and pointed for us to seat ourselves. Slightly rude they way they did it but not a huge deal we expect for them to be rude when we go. We grab some menus and walk to one of the booths and browse the menu. We get the same thing every time so we only needed 2 minutes. When the waitress came to us she didn't even start off by asking what we wanted to drink. She just went, "What do you want?" So I ordered and then my boyfriend ordered. She rushed us so much to order. Even taking the menus away she like snatched them from my hands and ran off. I looked at my man and said, "Well, it looks like we don't get anything to drink tonight." Coming from someone who has served in a restaurant the first thing you do is ask their drink. 5 minutes later a gentleman brought us some waters which was good and he was a very kind man so I thanked him. When our food came out it looked and smelled so yummmmmmmy! We got pretty much through all of our pho when my boyfriend looks at me and says, "There's a fly in my soup." For some people like us it wasn't too big of a deal but I know people who would completely lose their appetite from something like that. It's just like, if you're going to have horrible service at least make sure there isn't bugs in your food. They did take the price of the entire bowl off the check which was great and we appreciated it but we decided to never come back. Over all, steer clear... Came here for some much needed pho after a night of going out. Really liked their broth, it really had a good umami flavor. Taking off stars though because they gave barely any side toppings for the pho, unlike other pho restaurants I often go to. Their limes were cut into tiny pieces and only a small pile of bean sprouts. Also it was freezing out today but it felt like they had their heater on low or something because I had to wear my big winter jacket inside just to stay warm! Came here today ordered a chicken salad. It was pretty busy for lunch time around 12:30 but I sat at the bar and ordered my food. It was great the chicken was very flavorful & the server/ manager I think was extremely nice. He made sure I was happy and genuinely seems like a nice person that cares if his customers are happy. As Tysons residents, we've been coming to Pho Deluxe for the past many years. This used to be a hidden spot not many people knew about for some easy fast Viet food in Tysons (without having to trek out to Falls Church). Unfortunately, over the years this place has really lost its luster. Their vermicelli bowls used to surpass even some of the restaurants we go to in Falls Church, however, last night our visit was extremely disappointing. The bowls were literally filled with vermicelli noodles and lettuce topped with some pickled carrot slivers and your toppings of choosing. There was less meat than previously provided (or even compared to other restaurants). There was also a lack of really anything else - there were maybe a sprinkle of crushed peanuts and the fish sauce lacked any red chili in it. We literally had bowls of noodles with fish sauce poured on it. We also ordered a couple bowls of pho broth on the side. These used to come out in a small bowl sprinkled with a bit of green onion and cilantro. Last night, the broth came out in a small cup and was simply plain. To top it all off, my husband had finished his meal but I was still very much working through mine, and the server came over to drop off the check - which I find very rude regardless what "class" the restaurant falls in. read more

Acceptable, but very far from exceptional. Technical flaws in the Pho included wet basil, inedible basil buds left on basil, undercooked noodles and lack of "molten sun heat." It wasn't cold, but it sure wasn't "Pho hot." On a Pho scale, it would likely be called "Pho Frigid." Add to that a dour waitress and a restaurant philosophy that believes the customer is an unruly enemy who must be told what they can't do in signage, not a great experience. Extraneous Question: Do signs telling people not to throw paper towels in the toilet really work? How many times would that happen before a sign is needed? Does a sign actually egg people on? Would it work better to add a "please?" Too bad this noble dish is so poorly represented and delivered. Don't see any reason to go back. read more

I went here for lunch today right at the start of the lunch rush with a friend. We both LOVED the food and how quickly we were in and out of the place, all while being able to enjoy everything at our own time. The staff was friendly and the service was great. I think some people here expect these places to jump through hoops and they mistake brevity for rudeness. Even at the start of a lunch rush when an empty room filled to having every seat full in under 10 min, our server was happy and pleasant. I was warned!! I love pho and I happened to be in the area and saw it near by. I had heard it was not great, but that's an understatement! Food was ok, although I agree with what other reviewers say about the food, it was the service that cannot be forgiven. Overall rude. It seemed they were going through the motions and was difficult to get their attention away from their phones if you needed anything. Do NOT recommend. I eat Pho all the time. The service was horrible! Our party had six people. We only had an hour for lunch. After waiting for 30 minutes, we asked them to for to go containers. We were told if we asked for containers, the food would take even longer and we should just wait. The food came only minutes before having to go back to work. The food containers never came. My hubby is a lucky guy... my favorite Pho place just opened a second location minutes away from his job. It's only the opening week, and he and his co-workers have already ordered from there twice. Should I mention that it's only Wednesday? The Pho here is divine. I love the broth-- flavorful without being overly fatty or oily... I swear that they are putting crack in the broth to keep luring us back. Paired with an ice coffee, or in the case of my hubby Boba tea = LOVE Take Out- So far, Pho Deluxe Tysons has done an exceptional job in understanding the importance of take out orders accuracy. I went to Pho Deluxe in Tyson's on August 22 for lunch with a coworker. I would like to be able to tell you how the pho was, but sadly I can't. We entered the door and waited to be seated. . . . and waited. . . . and waited. They weren't that busy and there were several available tables they could have sat us at, but no one came to greet us or even let us know that they would be with us in one minute. Several employees walked past us and glanced in our direction, but NO ONE came over to help us - at all. After more than 10 minutes of being ignored we left, along with two other groups and went to Potbelly's next door. We didn't get to sample the food, but with the service (lack of) I'm definitely not going to go back. read more

I came here on a Sunday afternoon for lunch so it was not busy at all. I wouldn't have known this place existed because it's hidden in the back of a building. Food: -Spring rolls: good flavor, nice and crispy. I liked the peppery taste in it. -Pho Tai: broth flavor was just okay, very small and paper thin slices of steaks so they were all overcooked. I stopped by for a quick lunch today excited at the prospect of a pho place near work. If you work near Tysons, you know there are not any very convenient pho places nearby. The place is off Spring Hill by the car dealerships. It has ample parking and is cute inside. I stopped by at about 1pm and it was still pretty busy with the later lunch goers. Service moved fast and was friendly. I wasn't super hungry but the minimum for credit card is $10 so I got the cha gio (fried egg roll) and the pho tai chin (round and brisket). The cha gio were pretty decent and actually a good sized portion. The pho was pretty mediocre. I thought the broth was passing and the meat was so-so. I''m happy to have a pho option as the weather starts to get colder. Their menu is comprehensive and I also did see quite a few bubble teas served. When it comes to Pho, it is always about 'what's in it' but in the case of Pho Deluxe, it is also about 'what is not in it.' Anyone who enjoys Pho understands that the broth is the make or break for a good joint. What's not in it: Protein derived soup base. You don't taste the beef stock and expected soup base. You don't even see the particulate material floating in the soup. What's in it: A whole lot of MSG. And for those of us that know, a bag of Vietnamese chemicals/flavorings make producing the soup base more profitable and faster. There are instant pouches of flavoring that restaurants can use to take shortcuts and these are undoubtedly used here with reckless abandon. The reviews exclaiming the unbelievable soup base actually had me in chuckles. Newsflash: When eating noodles out of the bowl, they aren't supposed to be super flavorful and you don't walk away strangely dehydrated with a slight headache. All hallmarks of mono-sodium. Bottom Line: Eat here if you are too lazy to drive to Falls Church, your friends cannot correctly pronounce Pho and you honestly can't tell the difference between Pho restaurants and don't mind MSG intake. Don't eat here if you don't care for a sodium overload and you know what a bowl of Pho is supposed to taste like. For the pricing, despite overhead costs of operating in Tyson's, you deserve better quality. I went to this restaurant on a team lunch on Friday because it was convenient. And honestly, that's about all this restaurant has going for it which is proximity to work. Pho Deluxe, I really wanted it be true, but you didn't come through. Take some time to make the broth the right way instead of taking shortcuts and we'll talk (I hate driving to Annandale or Falls Church). read more

Like all of the previous Yelpers who have recently reviewed, I was dying for a good pho place to open up in the Tysons area. I always make the drive to Falls Church when I am craving a hot bowl of soup. For some reason everytime it rains I feel like eating a big bowl of pho. I guess everyone else had the same idea because the place was super packed! We didn't have to wait very long to get seated though and the servers were very friendly and helpful. The actual pho itself was just okay. It was kind of greasy, definitely had big globs of oil floating around on the top of the bowl. The broth was decent, but nothing special. We also tried the crispy rolls and they tasted homemade, but just felt like something was missing. One thing that I will say is that their large bowl is actually a large. SO BIG! Overall, I probably wouldn't come back just because I wasn't very impressed and it was kind of expensive for pho. I'll just have to make the drive to Pho 75 or wait until Pho Sate opens back up. read more

My friend and I went to the newly open Pho Deluxe on Friday. It had a large lunch crowd which I wasn't sure was due to the fact that it was new, or that it was Friday or that it was lunch. Either way just be aware that you might need to wait to be seated if you come during lunch as this is set up as regular restaurant (not like typical pho places where they have shared tables). Unlike, most other pho places they accept credit card which is a definite plus. Although other commenters talked about the broth and its MSG (or lack thereof), unfortunately I'm not a pho connoisseur so I couldn't tell you if it had MSG or not. I would say that it was decent for my untrained palette. I got the small bowl of pho with all the combination meats (tripe, fatty brisket, tendon, etc.) and it was filling and delicious. There was a lot of noodles in my bowl to the point where I couldn't put any bean sprouts in my bowl, but I wasn't going to complain. #firstworldproblems I also got a taro bubble tea which was just okay. I would pass it on it next time. For being the only pho place in the the immediate Tysons Corner vicinity, I would say it is just fine for your pho fix. Obviously, if you have the time you can drive to Eden Center for pho/boba but if you work in the area, this should fit the bill. read more

Service: I literally ate here about 45 minutes ago and must say I was quite pleased. I called in early to see if I could order ahead, and the staff suggested that I just order upon being seated, as the food comes out very fast. I was a bit hesitant to go at this point because I had to be back at work within the hour. I said screw it and hoped for the best. My two colleagues and I got to the restaurant and were seated immediately. Our food was out in 3-4 minutes and we had exited about 15 minutes later. Service was fast and the host was very open to us paying up front to avoid the wait times. Only thing I take a star for is table service. We were not checked up on and my water was empty for a good long portion of the meal. Food: I had the #39, Pho with eye of round, lean brisket, and fatty brisket, which is what I normally order at every Pho restaurant. It was perfect, tons of noodles, copious amounts of mead, and not an overload of greens. Great job! Environment. I came at around 12:30 today, and we took one of the last two open tables. The place is not huge, but has a decent number of tables. Regardless, It is packed and loud so come hear early or make a reservation if you are craving Pho like I was today. read more

I was really excited to try this place as I work near Tyson's and hadn't been able to find a solid Vietnamese restaurant to get pho without driving to Falls Church or Arlington. Overall, the restaurant looked clean and was well decorated. The staff was reasonably attentive and nice. We got the pork egg rolls as an appetizer and they were delicious but pretty standard. My biggest gripe was that the Pho was not up to par with other places in the DC area (Eden Center, Pho 75). The broth was very light and clearly had not been given as much attention as it should. I was also unimpressed with the amount of meat they provided. Overall, this isn't a bad place to stop by and grab a quick meal in Tyson's but I would never go out of my way to come here. I must say that this was some of the best Pho I've had in a quite a while, and by far the best in the Tysons Corner area. I had the seafood Pho which was excellent and came with plenty of seafood. Good pho. Went here for lunch today. Feemers got the crispy spring roll appetizer and the pho w/well done brisket. I got the chicken pho (trying to reduce my red meat intake). Everything was good. The spring rolls basically tasted like crispy fried egg rolls but filled with shrimp. The large phos were good and come with all the normally fix-ins (sprouts, basil, lime, jalepeno). Disclaimer: This entire review is fueled by the fact that my "crispy" spring rolls are now soggy and cold. Well, that's it. This place has lost my business for good. This is not a one time occurrence; they have always had a problem with being severely understaffed and extremely busy around lunch time, and only the latter is understandable. Knowing this fully well, I decided to place an order for pick-up. The gentleman was more than pleasant on the phone, and after waiting to be seated there for more than 20 minutes before, I was hopeful that this would be a much quicker process. I might as well have sat down and ate an entire meal by the time I was out the door. I get that you're busy, which is made more obvious by the fact that the same person that is 'sometimes' at the front is also seating, food running, answering the phone, and checking people out. I shouldn't have to flag someone down just to get him to help me, and then continue to watch him take care of 3 other things, including answering the phone, first. This was after 15 minutes of just standing at the front, while a huge group of people were waiting to be seated (probably by the same guy) and another group checking out got so fed up that they just left their cash on the counter and left. What's worse is that the door was opening every 5 minutes or so, letting the freezing cold air into an establishment that either doesn't have heat, or doesn't turn it on. Even a simple "sorry for your wait" would have been enough to make me forgive these dang soggy spring rolls. The pho is actually pretty good and comes out quickly if you have the patience to be ignored, cold, and late for whatever engagements you had planned after lunch. read more

We go to Vietnamese restaurants 4-5 times a month and this is by far the BEST. With all the choices in DC area this is a hidden gem. They have a new chef and it seems like it has gone from 4 to 5 stars. We have been here 5 times since they opened and it has gets better each time They have plenty of parking, service is amazing (usually Vietnamese restaurants lack good service) The place is spotless and very clean. It is a bit off the beaten path (between Fuddruckers and Rt 7) across from new Walmart. But it's worth it. read more

Lunch with one of my favorite people in the world is always a blast! I happened to have a meeting in Tyson's right near her office...one quick text and we are so in sync we both said Pho Deluxe!! I have been meaning to check this spot out but never got around to it. Since I was running late from my meeting I had her order for us both. Our bowls arrived shortly after I had a seat. Piping hot and flavorful -- our bowls were just the right size for a quick lunch time pick me up. Although I'm accustomed to paying the usual 6 bucks for a small in Eden Center, this is Tyson's. Our total came to $17 before tip which seems about right considering their rent is more in this area. Pros: quick service, the broth flavoring was great without being to salty and the interior is sleek and modern. Cons: the space seems like it could be just a tad bit bigger. I felt like I was going to elbow the guy in the two seater table next to us. Tip: They have Happy Hour specials so it might be worth it to check them out if you work in the area read more

Here's the thing- Pho Deluxe is the best pho in Tyson's corner. The downside is most people know this, and the experience is so overwhelming now that I no longer come to this location. This pho shop is located near the Ratner building where you see Pot Belly's on the corner and at the Spring Hill light. There is a big and VERY busy parking lot outside of the restaurant. If you love pho, you know that rainy and cold months bring more business than usual to these places, so in the summer it's really no problem getting in. In the winter, this place is busting at the seams with suits trying to grab some lunch before headed back to work. I've not waited, but been told there would be a 45 minute wait for lunch at times when visiting Pho Deluxe. No one who works in Tyson's corner has time for that. They will not hesitate to have you sit at the bar right next to the heavily rotating door with cold air blasting you the entire time. It was after an experience like this that I looked down Leesburg Pike for Pho 7 and became a regular there. Pho Deluxe has bubble tea, which Pho 7 does not. Pho Deluxe also has a wide variety of other options outside of pho that look great, though I have admittedly never tried them. All in all this would have been a 5 star review had it not been for how crowded it is and for the chance that you will be seated in front of a steady stream of arctic air while trying to sip your soup. read more
