    Large Bowl

Are they sisters to Pho Filet 2 on San Gabriel Blvd? If they are I prefer no.2. Large bowl of PHO is plenty and next time I'll get the smaller bowl. I'm not a connoisseur of Pho but for me it was pleasant! For ambient just ok nothing fancy. Come give them a try. !!

Came with a friend and decided to try this place due to the high reviews and it being close by the freeway. Parking was easy as they have a lot. It is located in a sketchier area of El Monte so just be careful and weary. I went inside and was greeted by the lovely aunties. They spoke to me in Cantonese which I thought was funny as they noticed I didn't speak Vietnamese. I ordered the #17 and they had an option of cooked or raw bean sprouts. I never got asked that before so thought it was nice the bean sprouts are cooked prior to adding them to my soup. Meat and noodle portion were decent but the broth was okay. After I finished it, I noticed that there was a lot of fat that lingered at the top of my bowl which was a bit gross. For the price, it is fair and cheaper than other pho places I normally visit (Golden Deli/Saigon Eden). However do note that there is a 50 cents extra charge if you pay with credit card. Bring cash to avoid that.

Scary. It's very dirty. I couldn't finish eating. I should've noticed the B rating before eating. The staff need training on cleaning and washing hands.

If you want a quick spot to go to grub on some pho, this is the place to be! They're friendly customer service and are also fairly quick w the food service. We ordered two pho beef one small and one large with a good portioned size as well as fried rolls as our sides. I love their rolls! Happy to come back here everytime!

Pho tai, gan , Bo vien with a side of sliced onions!

Feels like a family member serving you home cook meals. Cute clean area. They have tables for 6 here! They have more than just pho. But I had to order the Pho today. Can't pass up a this pho bowl.

This place may be called a "Pho" restaurant but we really came here for the broken rice ("Com tam") plates. We ordered a couple of different rice plates, but pictured are two popular choices: 1. Com Dac Biet: this is the special plate that basically comes with a little of everything. It includes shredded pork ("Bi"), the tofu skin shrimp ("ta hu ky"), Chinese sausage, and egg/meatloaf ("cha"). All items were prepared well and portion sizes were generous and made for a satisfying meal! 2. Com Suon: pork chop ("suon") over rice. The portion size for the plate was amazing. They give you two large chops, which you can really share with two people or save one for lunch the next day. Other items we ordered (but not pictured): 1. Pho Dac Biet: very large bowl of pho. Broth was tasty and amount of noodles and meat (brisket, beef slices, tripe, tendons) were plentiful 2. Pho Bo Kho: an equally generous sized bowl! Plenty of beef chunks and tendons. The only small negative could be the "oily-ness" of the broth. That could be a turn off for some. Service: great service from the staff. They're very efficient and responsive. Food came out very fast. Even faster had we all just ordered Pho, but since we had rice plates that required some dish preparation, that took a few minutes longer. Parking: this restaurant is located on a corner, in a very small strip mall where there's two other businesses next to each other. The parking is limited and can be a little crowded. But fortunately, this is near a neighborhood where you can find street parking as long as you're willing to drive walk a little. So overall, this is a GREAT place to grab a bite if you are in El Monte. It's so much more than a Pho restaurant. Try out the rice plates...you won't be disappointed!

The best authentic Vietnamese food in the area. They speak English, Cantonese, mandarin and Vietnamese. Parking lot is small but adequate. Hole in the wall place but food is absolutely delicious. Price not bad as well. Star of the nice was the grilled pork chop. Don't come expecting fancy interior. Bathroom is outside in another hallway

    16. Pho Dac Biet (XL)

Came here for dinner recently with a group of 4. We ordered Pho Dac Biet among other things. The Pho Dac Biet was the only thing I tried so I'll only comment on that. Ordered the XL size, lots of meat and noodles. They fill the soup/broth all the way to the top of the bowl, submerging everything. So don't be fooled by the pictures. There's lots of ingredients underneath. Only thing is, the soup was just slightly hotter than warm. It wasn't piping hot like I'm used to at all the other places I've been to. So a little disappointing there. Complimentary iced/hot water or iced/hot tea. The tea was very strong and floral. I loved it. Water tasted like filtered water. Free parking in parking lot or street parking. Good service. They speak Vietnamese and English.

They accepted cards since beginning of the year

    Is there outdoor seating?

Yes there is, but very limited seating. Like around 5/6 tables last time I was there.

This soup is so pungent that the only time I get to savor it is at home and the stink doesn't leave your home for a few days. So, it is to my delight that they offer it here during the weekdays. It is a nicely stacked bowl that has everything but the kitchen sink in it - roast pork belly, catfish, squid, eggplant, and stuffed jalapeno with fried fish cake. Very filling and reasonably priced! The only reason I gave this place a 4 instead of 5 rating is because you can only order certain items from the menu when they open. I wanted to get some Chinese food to-go for my husband, but was told by the server that the other items were only available beginning at 10 am, which is odd to me.

I grew up eating pho in Saigon and IYKYK, the pho in North America vs in Saigon are distinct. One isn't inherently better than the other, it's just a matter of taste. Didn't think I'd find it here in the SGV vs in Orange County where I lived for 10+ yrs. Broth at Viet Huong is richer vs the clear broth favored at most places here. The brisket (thịt chín) has a little bit more fat to it which makes it less dry, cut with a meatier cut vs paper thin. The rare beef is minced a little. All the good things that remind me of the good old Saigonese pho flavors. The staff is very friendly. They all speak English really well which made me doubt the authenticity of the food (lol) but that worry was put to rest soon after my pho bowl came out. This will become my new favorite pho place.

We ordered the Grilled Bloody Clam w/ Green Onions, Scorched Rice Topped with Pork Floss, Thai Seafood Hot, and Grilled Garlic Butter/Pepper Escargot. The escargot and the blood clams were fun to eat. They both come out on sizzling plates. The escargots were chewy and garlicky, while the blood clams were juicy. Both were flavorful on their own, without the sauces. The Scorched Rice Topped with Pork Floss was crispy and crunchy. I loved the texture of it. There were also additional toppings on the rice, like Chinese sausages. The Thai seafood hotpot is not like the Vietnamese sour soup with catfish and tamarind, by the way. While I understand how hard it is to run a small business, especially in this economy, the lack of communication made the experience frustrating. Being told "wait, wait, wait" without updates and seeing newer customers receive their food first made it feel like regulars or friends were being prioritized. I get it, but there should be a better system, especially when friends are coming in and out of the kitchen. It also felt like dishes were being prepared strictly one at a time. I couldn't help but wonder if investing in additional stovetop equipment or having a second person helping during busy hours would really improve the flow. I came by on a Friday at 7pm for a dinner (weekend before Mother's Day) and was able to get seated in 15 minutes. They have a Yelp waitlist but you must go in person to join the waitlist. There's a spacious parking lot but there's rarely any spots available and will require you to wait for a free one. The interior is honestly very pretty. It's decorated with overhead chandeliers with bright lights and marble tables. When your table is ready, they also give you a tray full of chopsticks, napkins, and forks. Each table also has hoisin, sriracha, chili sauce, and another sauce I'm not too sure about. After we ordered, I got my pho da biet maybe 5 minutes after. The cha gios also came out a few minutes after too. Unfortunately, my boyfriend's com tam was forgotten about until after I devoured my pho. We even asked them about it in the middle and it was checked on but we weren't updated and thought they had went ahead and cancelled it but it still came out. No biggy, we packed it to-go since we basically split the pho da biet. Food: Pho da biet (9.5/10): The pho was soooo delicious. It was meaty with a little bit of sweetness to it. This is one of the few places where I don't feel the need to sauce down my pho to enjoy it. There's a good amount of meat in here. If you're a tendon enjoyer, there's about 3 big chunks in here. I love the way they separate everything. If you order this, it comes with the stone bowl at no additional costs. They separate the noodles and ribeye on the side and let you "decorate" it yourself. There was also a good amount of noodles in here. Com tam (7.9/10): I thought that this one was just okay. We got the grilled pork and grilled pork chop and I thought that the meats were cooked perfectly. There was a nice char to the meats and it was seasoned deliciously. It came with a lot of rice and a side of soup to enjoy! I did enjoy this fish sauce more than the one that came with the egg rolls. Overall, I wish this dish came out the same time as the pho so we could've enjoyed it together. Cha gio/Imperial Rolls (7/10): I love egg rolls but this one didn't really stand out to me. It comes with a good amount of vegetables that you can use to wrap your egg rolls in. I wish the fish sauce that came with this was more salty. Maybe it was that day, but I couldn't really tell what was inside the filling. It was all mushed in together instead of different layers. The skin was very thin and crispy which I really liked!

The broth was deeply flavorful with just the right amount of spice, and it came loaded with big, meaty pork feet and pork blood that made it feel extra hearty and authentic. Definitely one of those dishes that warms your soul. We also tried the banh beo. The flour mixture was a little on the thicker side, but it was still really tasty--especially with those crispy little pieces of pork fat on top that add such a great savory crunch. On top of the food, the service was friendly and attentive, which always makes the experience even better. All in all, a great meal and I can't wait to come back and start working my way through the rest of the menu.

I ordered the pho vit (duck soup), the pork belly sandwich, steamed rice, a cake, pho vit with bamboo shoots, and lemongrass duck with rice, all of which were excellent. While I am not a Vietnamese cuisine expert, I visited with a Vietnamese foodie friend, and we both agreed the food was very good. I don't dine out frequently these days because individual meals can cost around $20, but you can easily find satisfying options for $15 or less that are flavorful and come with generous portions. The higher prices typically reflect dishes containing half or whole ducks or chickens; these are more expensive but are suitable for sharing among several people. My only small concern is that the temperature inside the restaurant was a bit warm for my comfort, but I'm perfectly fine with takeout. Overall, the restaurant offers great value, excellent taste, generous portions, and friendly staff. I highly recommend it. I don't have any photos since I was focused on enjoying the delicious meal, but the dishes on the menu looked just as good in person as they appeared in the images.

It was definitely worth the 15 minute wait to get the center table big enough table for all of us. Highly recommend the duck salad and the chicken salad. They both came with porridge or pho. So good. The taste wasn't heavy but had just the right flavor. The bonus was the pandan-flavored iced tea is free! We would definitely come again. Small strip mall or street parking. Can be crowded on weekends.
