My personal favorite pho place. Biggest reason is because they have the best egg rolls in town. The rice paper instead of normal egg roll wrap really elevates it and the filling is always moist while the outside is perfectly crispy. I've ordered egg rolls from basically every pho place around and these always come out on top. Also, I have been coming here for at least a decade and the food has always been consistent. Pho is top quality and they have a really good fried noodle combination. (#85 with soft noodles!). And 99% of the time, a lot of seating and the food comes out super fast. Been coming here for years. The restaurant usually has a handful of tables open. Service is fast. If you're used to warm, friendly, chatty servers this place isn't for you. You come for the food. Period. I always get Pho Tai. The flavor is always good but the Pho is always served as a compact ball of noodles under the broth and veggies. I get that it's a time saver to have the noodles pre balled so they can quickly be placed in the bowl. But, I don't mind waiting an extra 30 seconds to have it run under water to have the noodles ready to eat instead of spending time breaking them up! I'm hungry and want to eat. Stop making me work for my Pho! #FirstWorldProblems My daughter got the Chicken and Rice and could promptly eat her meal...which she said was good. While the food here is fine, I have to say service is awful. I arrived for lunch and it was obvious that the rush had started; not a problem. There were only two servers working the entire floor, so I expected slower service, but I was basically ignored. The male server saw me waiting to be seated but walked by me twice until the host appeared and barked at the server to clean a table for me so I could be seated. It took about five minutes for that to occur. The server never said anything to me, just pointed to sit down, which I did. He never gave me a menu, just a place setting. As I was patiently waiting, I saw the female server was handling the drink orders and the male server was running all the food. He kept walking by me and never made eye contact with me. So after 10 minutes of patience, again the lunch rush was in full effect, I see two different parties of people who were seated after I was had their orders taken by the male server. So I finally flagged down the female server asking her if anyone was going to bring me a menu and take my order. To her credit, she seemed horrified that I was never given a menu and she took care of me. The male server showed up 5 minutes later and just placed my food in front of me and walked away as I asked hom for a dipping sauce plate. I got up to approach the host to ask for the plate, and then when the male server saw me going to the host, he suddenly ran to the kitchen and brought me a plate. Not sure what the guy's problem was, it wasn't language. He was speaking fluent English to the other customers around me. Not coming back here again due to how he ignored me. read more

The pho had a good amount of chicken, but the broth was dull and basic. The chicken curry was very bland, with too many onions as filler, rather than carrots/potatoes. They have many options which I appreciate since I'm always looking for a combo without tendon but has tripe. Broth was flavorful and definitely hit the spot. When you get the craving for Pho, only one thing can cure it... Pho! But not just any Pho, get the good stuff! This is definitely one of my new favorites and is very fairly priced. The broth is super tasty & they offer a generous serving size. My boyfriend & I ordered a large & small bowl, which ended up being about the same size. We placed our order over the phone & it was ready right when we arrived, 10 minutes later. When we went to pick it up, I was bummed we hadn't decided to stay to eat in! It looked like a great place to sit & eat, enjoying the ambiance. Their menu looked amazing, so I will definitely be back to try more! I got a to-go box of the grill pork rice plate. Everything tasted decently good, but it was quite a small portion. I don't know if I was super hungry or what, but I once I gobbled up that last piece of pork, I said to myself, "I NEED MORE FOOD." So I got an ice cream sundae. I went to this restaurant last night with a friend. The food was good but the waiters were rude. We would try to stop them to ask a question, and they would ignore us, and when we finally placed our order, they seemed pissed to have to take it. What really sealed the deal was when we started to leave. We went to the cashier to pay and the guy said it was cash only. My friend and I started to panic because neither of us had cash. We told the guy we had no clue it was cash only because we weren't told and there were no signs posted. He said the credit card machine went down 10 minutes ago (which is long after we ordered and ate). He suggested going to the Albertsons in the shopping center and use their ATM. But that would mean we would have to pay a fee. We tried to check our phones for the nearest banks, but we couldn't get cell service (even when stepping outside). Plus it's not safe for a woman to go to an ATM at night alone. We told the cashier our hands were tied and this wasn't our fault. Normally a restaurant would say not to worry about it and eat the cost to provide good customer service (especially since our total bill was only $40 something dollars). But instead they kept insisting one of us go to the ATM, and one of the employees moved near the door to prevent both of us from leaving. When we kept insisting we weren't going to the ATM, one of the employees finally got on the phone with the credit card machine company and got it fixed. There are plenty of other pho places nearby that we will go to next time instead of dealing with this poor customer service. read more

I don't know why there are hate on some of these reviews. It's a family business trying to make a living and they provide the best food. I'm an average guy born in Vietnam and living here and the Pho's is the same as Pho Pasteur in HCM city. If you didn't know Pho Pasteur it is one of the most famous pho places in HCM and has been there since the 1960s and still going strong. Minh the manager is s always friendly and his staff bend over backwards to get what ever you want within reason. The food is authentic and exactly what you would get in Vietnam. If you're looking for some fusion dishes then this is not the place for you. Also for those that say the pho is better in Little Saigon, I would say BS. I have eaten at quite few pho places in little Saigon and even the places where they display cooking beef bone to make the broth and I really don't taste any difference. read more

Just be firm and assertive with what you want and use the numbers on the menu to avoid confusion bc psst... guess what...it's Irvine so English isn't always gonna be everyone's main language lol and if anything that should reassure you the food is at least gonna be authentic. The FOOD I can't speak on the pho or the broth bc I'm not viet and I don't know how to assess that stuff. But their number 52&57 are BOMB. Chicken thigh with special yellow rice damn gimme that any day of the week. And diced filet mignon with garlic sauce and special rice is also good but sometimes the meat is a bit tough...gotta throw more corn starch on that thing mr. Chef! Their egg rolls are a must order as well. The wrapper that they fry them in is unique to their region of Vietnam and so much better than the flaky bs other places serve. Few restaurants make me feel strongly enough to leave a review. Usually, when either the food or the service is decent, I don't complain. I came with my date on a Sunday evening around 8. It was not crowded, and we were promptly led to our seats. After we got our water, the staff was a little too eager to take our order, checking in on us every five seconds with a "Are you ready to order?" even though we told them repeatedly we'd still need a couple more minutes with the menu. But the service was fast; the food came out almost five minutes after ordering. After the service, they did not check on us to see if we needed more water or anything else throughout the meal. The food was decent, and the pho was just like any others I'd had in terms of taste. The #8. Cha Gio appetizer was a decent fried rice paper rolls with shrimp. I got #23. Pho Tai Nam Gan, pho with rare steak, well-done brisket and tendon. My date ordered #30. Pho Bo Vien, beef meatballs rice noodle soup. The portions were overwhelmingly more rice noodles than meat, but it seemed fair given the price ($15 for my large pho). The rice noodles were a clump in the broth. The brisket seemed cooked, but the tendon was pink and rare. What made me feel strongly enough to leave a review here is that almost immediately after having my first couple of tastes of the tendon, I started developing a stomach ache that lasted throughout the meal. It ended up with me on the toilet trying to make a deal with God later that night and now woken up at 3 am the very next day by the discomfort from the itch in my throat that is now developing into something serious. As I was writing this review, I stumbled upon their Health Score on Yelp and discovered that they somehow got a PASS from a recent routine health inspection in March 2024 -- just last month -- even with 18 violations. Take this with a grain of salt, but I would NOT recommend anything "rare" at this place unless you want to take your chances with food poisoning. read more

Spring rolls, the number 69 broken rice with pork, shrimp cake and shredded pork, and the bun thit noung. Spring rolls felt like it was left uncovered in the fridge. The edges were dried out and pretty rough. The broken rice dish - mostly shredded veggies and the charbroil pork was very good, but at least there was much of it. Bun thit noung - same pork used in the broken rice. Not very good. And again mostly just shredded veggies and lots of noodles. I don't carry cash anymore. It's dirty and inconvenient. When I said I didn't have cash and asked if it would be a problem...he chatted with the manager and then informed me that I couldn't order. Why? Let's breakdown the dIfferent dishes. The service is good and the restaurant is very clean and modern. Pho. Nothing special. The meat was okay. Bun bo Hue. It should not be called bun bo Hue since they use the same pho broth. Com bo luc Lac. Shaken beef. Not very good. The orange rice is kind of odd. Com tam Bi Thit nuong. Broken rice. The rice isn't broken and the thit nuong isn't grilled on an actual grill, but more sauté. The bi was fresh. The salad is good. Bun thit Nuong. The egg rolls were average. The thit is similar to the com thit nuong. The best dishes would be the com tam or thit nuong. It's good to try new restaurants just to know but I will have to go back to known restaurants in the future. read more

We initially wanted to go to the Shabu Shabu place right by this but it was crazy packed so we decided to try this place and we loved it! Food was so good! This pho place is one of the best for sure! The broth is so flavorful and delicious. The drinks were tasty! The Thai tea was sweet enough, a lot of places make really sweet bobas but this one was perfect! The service was awesome! So yes, I am NOT picky. That being said, this place is great! Service is fast, friendly, and simple. Prices are always fair ($21-ish for 2 bowls of pho, plus tip) and food is CONSISTENT. The food is good but im not sure about sanitary. I asked to eat outside which is great, they set everything nicely for us. While waiting for food, i went inside to ask for bean sprouts, lime and basil for my pho. The older worker lady was by the cashier talking, and then i saw her went into the kitchen, i saw her grabbing all those veggies with her bare hands. No gloves, nothing! I dont know if she washed her hand before, but she was standing by the cashier, who know what if she touched anything else. I felt so grossed out. I dont think i will come back.
