First let me say the food was INCREDIBLE. Three stars is not reflective of that. It's because of the way the staff ignored our family for 20minutes after being seated and seemed to want us to leave asap. The best recommendations for food are from fellow foodies, not matter their age or location. I am grateful to have so many friends who live in the vicinity. They shared some of their favorite spots, and when they said that they drive up the hill where I live to eat at Pho Hana, I went the next day. And the day after that. And I will probably go tomorrow. Anyone who has a developed palate appreciates the nuances and difference between a good broth and a great broth. The best pho I've ever eaten is at Pho Golden Star, but it is in Chino (60 miles away), so although I will travel for food and pho, I won't make that drive in rush hour midweek traffic...ok, maybe I would, but only once a week:) Pho Hana has a good clean broth, they use quality ingredients, and their combination #1, with rare flank steak, tendon, and tripe for $10 is a very satisfying bowl. Of course I added all of the bean sprouts, basil, jalapenos, and lime, along with a generous squeeze of garlic chili sauce:) The seafood noodle version was $2 more and included fresh crab! It was a slow tedious process to get the meat out of the claw, but if you have the patience, it is a rewarding workout. Pho Hana also offer soon tofu or curry soup, so I tried the beef soon tofu medium spicy (next time I'll try the very spicy, but always better to level up than be in pain and regret your choice) for $14. It was bubbling when they brought it to the table, so be careful when eating, and remember there is a raw egg in the middle of the pot that you may break into the soup so that it cooks in the bubbling broth. A nice selection of sides come along with the soup, and it was exactly the right amount of food for me on a day when I had not eaten for 6 hours.... The service is very friendly, and the decor ranges from a Christmas tree, a television set to either the Travel Channel or HGTV, and a bookcase full of old LPs, to a various Western artifacts like a tall wooden Indian. This is truly an eclectic place with menu items from Korea, Vietnam, and China, but you can't go wrong with the pho, and the comfort of finding a place on the hill that serves palate pleasing broth. read more

We checked out this eclectic Asian restaurant serving Pho, vermicelli bowls, fried rice, Korean meals, tofu soup and more. My Thai iced tea was very tasty with lots of boba. I would definitely order this again! I enjoyed the fried spring rolls and shrimp rolls dipped in peanut sauce. You're supposed to wrap the lettuce leaves around the fried spring roll. The Pho was tasty. I'm not a big Pho eater, so not a good judge. Loved the complimentary shaved iced dessert. I think that's such a nice tough. One man was taking care of all the customers and the bills, but he did a great job. The decor is so interesting. A Christmas tree. Indian sculptures. Old cameras. Records. Pics of Paris. Well, I've been eating here for nearly 15 years now. And I've never once had something I didn't enjoy. You can drop your finger on anything on the menu and you'll love it. The service is always so great and quick and everyone is so friendly and kind. The music is always nice and low and you can actually hear eachother speak when you're at the table. sad to say I will no longer come back to this location. Today the owners "grandaughter" or "niece" was rude to me all because I tried to explain to her my order. I prefer to place my order with either Chris or Jeanie because they typically know my order by heart. When I told the grandaughter my order I specially stated "I don't want lettuce please substitute with cilantro" she then stated "it doesn't come with cilantro" Im aware of that that's why I'm telling you what I want. I go inside to pick up my order. the granddaughter looked at me, grabbed my food basically slammed it on the side table, I gave her a $20 dollar bill she snatched it out my hand gave my change back but didn't hand me the change in my hand she just sat it down on the counter top. Then I asked her "are you ok" she said nonchalantly "I'm ok" I so then proceed to tell her it seems as though you have an attitude with me. she denies having an attitude. There's no other way to describe this establishment other than curiously interesting. I mean, they have a large Christmas tree set up in the middle of the restaurant in May! Combine this with everything from the picture of Jimi Hendrix on the wall to a large vinyl record collection and a bright orange and green paint scheme, thus, that gives you an idea of the environment and what to expect once you're inside. It's Interesting to say the least... In terms of their food, it is a combination of Pho and Korean cuisine. There is a large amount of Korean dishes as well as a number of Pho options to choose from. Overall, all the food at this restaurant is pretty good. They also offer domestic an Asian beers as well as wine. Aside from the obvious, in terms of their atmosphere, the tables are well spaced so you never feel too close to other people dining in the restaurant. The overall atmosphere is spacious. Personally, I have walked past this restaurant for years upon years. The exterior is nothing dramatic and it doesn't really call people inside. I will say, however, that once you eat their food you will probably be coming back for more. So, don't let their plain exterior keep you from going inside. In terms of parking, they are located inside a large exterior shopping plaza. So, there are several lots surrounding this restaurant and the other businesses that these lots serve. Thus, you should never have a problem with parking. Overall, it is a fun place to eat both in terms of their abstract interior and their food. Ok. This place is my favorite local pho place. The service is always fast. Which is typical for pho places but they are always hospitable too which goes a long way. They have a bunch of vintage photos and cinema/photography stuff all around the restaurant which makes the atmosphere unique and I'm constantly noticing something that I didn't see last time I was there. I typically get their rare steak and brisket soup and highly recommend their combo egg roll/ spring roll appetizer. So good! read more

Very homey restaurant up on the hill. I always order #7, and it is always very good, but I decided to order something different this time with the seafood noodle soup. The noodles were very good, cooked just right, but the soup was pretty fishy. I know you'd expect this from a seafood pho, but it was overly fishy. Also, you could tell that the seafood inside was not the freshest, and was most likely frozen, as it was super chewy (like very chewy). If you come here, I recommend sticking to the regular pho with meats inside. Nonetheless, the service here is ALWAYS amazing, the guy always pays attention to our table and serves us very quickly. I'm not sure if they always give complimentary dessert (shave ice with red bean and boba) but sometimes my table gets it, and sometimes we don't. The dessert is always very yummy. read more
