If you're craving pho, it gets the job done. Since there isn't a lot of competition for pho in this area, I'll take what I can get. I get my usual Pho Tai at every pho restaurant (regular beef noodle soup) and this time was no different. The noodles were the right texture and the soup was ok, not too greasy, didn't make me too thirsty afterwards, but it needed just a little bit more kick of flavor. I believe that this place is Korean owned and operated. There were quite a few Korean food items. It's like you can satisfy both ethnic cravings at once! The decor inside is nice, but it might be difficult to accommodate large groups. The prices are also a bit higher compared to your standard bowl of pho else where. Again, the lack of competition in the area allows for Pho Hana to up the prices a bit (probably b/c the rent is also super expensive.) Anyway, Pho Hana is A-Ok as they say on Yelp! read more

Okay I love this place! Better than the one on Hawthorne for sure. I love the atmosphere in this restaurant, it's very cozy especially if you're going for pho on a cold day. I only give 4 stars because I wish they were open later. I also was hoping they'd sell french bread since it's a common bread with Vietnamese food. Also i wish they gave more lime with the pho instead of a quarter of a slice (i had to ask for more and i get they probably don't want people to waste). I'm both a glutton for pho and very picky about the broth, so discovering this place when we moved to the area felt momentous. I absolutely adore this place - the pho broth is incredible, the portions are generous, and you'll have a great meal whether you opt to dine in or order takeout. The owner and employees are also super warm and friendly, and the kitschy decor is super charming. It's probably for the best that this is a 20-minute drive from my house, or I may be tempted to eat here almost every day. read more

I am currently eating a veggie noodle dish!! It is absolutely amazing and flavorful, with plenty of veggies to enjoy. I really appreciated that they had my food ready when I got there and they were taking all necessary safety precautions for themselves and customers. Our whole family has been coming here for many years now. Its like a comfort food for us although we are not Vietnamese. Service is great, we like their food and varieties they offer other than pho too. Its kinda uniquely decorated... just a comfy place for us to dine in. I am kinda bummed that they dont serve shaved ice with read bean for the desert anymore. After nice bowl of hot pho with bursting flavors, we did look forward to that desert. But oh well.. thats not a deal breaker read more

Surprisingly good for a place that had Chinese television on the screen, Vietnamese food in the title, and Korean food on the menu. Often, these "fusion" places do one thing well and fall short on the rest of the menu, however in this case, fair is fair, everything we had was a B+ or better. Couple that with easy parking and reasonable prices, and you have a place where your party can each get something from a wholly different area, yet every dish is good. Quite rare. read more

The most whatever overpriced pho I've ever had. I could've had cup o noodles and been better off. The worst part is that I went to have a sit down meal and it was so hectic but not overly busy the staff just seemed extremely overwhelmed not helping customers but taking phone orders. It took 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge me. Then I just said I'll take it to go and it was 42 minutes for it to be ready just pho! I went to old navy to shop and came back and it still wasn't ready. I'm new to the area and love pho but over all it was a terrible meal and experience the worst pho I've ever had. After coming to this restaurant for over 2 years I have to say the service is always amazing, very fast attentive and kind. The food is superb and always prepared perfectly I am a regular eater of the pork/beef rib plates and also the #6 pho noodle. The beef and pork are also juicy,tender, and full of flavor. There were 15 people on waitlist to sit down and they did not bother to check in with anyone for over 40 minutes. When I approached the owner and his wife they told me to eat somewhere else. Rename ur pho to a bowl of noodle soup with three pieces of meat please. Giving them one star because their vietnamese food tastes like shit and they advertise themselves as a vietnamese food restaurant ( their korean food is fine ). If you want crappy pho, this is the place to go!! Growing up in this community and seeing people go into this place thinking that they are getting "vietnamese food" is honestly so disheartening. This crappy recreation of vietnamese food is so embarrassing to the vietnamese community and they honestly shouldn't even associate their version of pho to the authentic one. The broth is very transparent (no true beef flavor in the broth). It tastes like they use some sort of pho flavoring powder (which if you are charging higher than a traditional vietnamese restaurant you would expect some aspects of quality in the broth). Pho is usually made by slowly extracting the beef essence from the bones through boiling. No fresh beef flavor, kinda tastes microwaved. I dont even know how to describe it other than it SUCKS. No meat at all. The noodle to meat ratio is disgusting. It's literally meat noodle soup, not noodle soup with three pieces of meat. U r basically paying for the noodles. Sorry if I'm being harsh but this has been a long-standing review. My friend said that she thinks pho tastes like a dirty sock. At first, I was incredibly insulted that she dissed my culture like that, but then she told me she had only tried this place. Now I understand. Zero stars for service. Rude, condescending and disrespectful to customers. My daughter and her friends go and deal with the rudeness for overpriced pho bc the food is decent- hence the two stars. However, now we're done. Last time, they switched our meals where one was extra spicy and one was mild. We asked, are you sure, and the gentleman (likely the owner) rudely said yes. Then after my daughter was eating and suffering from extra spicy we called them back. The man was dismissive and insisted that it was the way we asked. Finally he went to the kitchen and confirmed their error. No apology, no compensation, nothing. He brought out a mild pho but the experience was ruined. I get that mistakes happen. Just own it. I guess during the week, it's dead in this plaza. Especially this late in the evening. I met up with my friend for dinner and conversation. Seems like this place is Korean and Vietnamese. Interesting mix. Stepping into this place, no one was watching the door so we seated ourselves. They were playing with the karaoke sound machine. Someone brought us some menus to look at. I always like the rare beef and tendons so I got the number 4. They have a fridge here with soju and Korean dishes on the menu. Typically, with a large bowl of noodles and meat and onions, I get water logged pretty quickly. Some reason I was really thirsty after this but only had sips of tea after. Very nice place if they weren't playing with the sound system. Hard to talk while eating and talking over the music and TV and our slurping of rice noodles. read more

I've been a loyal customer of pho Hana since 2007 and I really love it here. I usually get the pho with beef broth and beef (I think it's #4), but since I'm a vegetarian I've had to switch to the veggie noodles. Review for the beef pho: Pretty good, the broth is flavorful and the noodles taste authentic. My only complaint is that they cook the noodles a little before putting it in the bowl with the steaming hot broth, so it's a little over cooked if you're a slow eater (like me). overall rating: 4/5 Review for the veggie pho: one of the best veggie phos I've had since I became a vegetarian! the broth is very flavorful, which is really good and pretty rare as far as clear vegetable broths go! (they're usually a hit or miss) The vegetables are over cooked (cmon America, step up your vegetable game) so I tend to eat them first before they break in the bowl. Review on my meal last night: My mom and I decided to try something new last night, we ordered a salad, noodles, spring roles, and a kimchi pancake. First thing to note, the spring rolls can be customized to your liking (eg no shrimp). However, I would not recommend getting the spring rolls and taking out the shrimp (which we did), because it's pretty bland and 3/4ths of it is vermicelli noodles. Pho Hana is one of the classic Palos Verdes hometown restaurants on the hill, especially for teens and pre-teens who frequent the malls. It's always been consistently good pho place with quick service and reasonable prices. The atmosphere of this place is interesting with its Korean drama shows playing on the tv and the numerous nutcracker figurines scattered around the restaurant, but it's a place where many have grown up coming to again and again. I usually just get the normal rare steak pho or some variation, and it's just a simple solution to get my pho fix. I enjoy that they also serve a free dessert at the end of the meal: shave ice with red bean, boba, and condensed milk. I've been coming here for years and the only thing that's changed are the prices. For $8.49, it's pretty pricy for a bowl of pho, but the portions are so big! I can get full from a small pho here, just from all the noodles and toppings they give you. I come here all the time since it's close by and it's convenient when I'm up on the hill. There are those times when you just want pho and because of the limited choices, Pho Hana is a spot a lot of PVers go. It's owned by Koreans but the pho is pretty alright. You have your usual choices of combo with all the different beef parts, as well as a few others. Of course you can choose the size you want, small medium or large. Egg roll is a must. Good crispy fried goodness. There's also your typical broken rice and vermicelli to go along with a good selection of Korean food like soondubu, Korean BBQ, seafood pancake etc etc. You can also order boba and shaved ice although I don't really recommend any of them except for the Thai Iced Tea. Hard to mess that up! They also give you a small shaved ice with red bean and condense milk at the end which is nice. Sounds good, but why such low rating? Well... the damn price. Honestly... I don't expect to pay over $5-6 for pho, let alone a SMALL. It's ridiculously overpriced for pho, as well as the other items. BBQ is expensive as hell, I could probably buy 2 orders of eggroll with what they charge here. Crazy decor all around the place, which is pretty cool. What a strange restaurant. When I walked in, I immediately remarked that I felt as if I was in someone's living room. There are knickknacks everywhere. I'm not the biggest pho fan, but I thought their pho was alright. I didn't really like the underlying spices, but then again, I'm not the biggest fan to start with. I ordered the #25 for myself, which was the non-soup noodle combo. It had various kinds of shrimp and meat mixed in, along with a cut egg roll. I enjoyed my meal. We also got a side of egg rolls which we didn't finish. I had them for breakfast the next morning. I forgot to throw away the container on my way out to work, and when I got home in the evening, the entire house smelled like oil! Scary! read more

I've been here a couple times now and enjoyed it both times. There are always plenty of people there for lunch, a testament to their local popularity. I really liked the fried rice. I definitely recommend a pork and kimchi combo. We've been pleased with their soups, too. The Pho isn't bowl-you-over amazing, but it's solid. They prepare a lot of the food from scratch, and that makes a difference. The prices are reasonable and the portions are hefty. And I like their iced coffee -- some assembly required because it comes out with the press still dripping. The ambience is nice. Good music, and the owner has quite a bit of his record collection on display. And last but not least, the staff is super friendly. Our waiter joked around and was helpful.
