It's a solid pho spot but it hasn't been hitting the same as the past. Don't get me wrong, it's a great spot to come with friends and enjoy a good meal but it feels more like a well oiled machine then an authentic joint, excuse my poor analogy. The interior is renovated really well and the service is fast but kind of dismissive unless you're aggressive about flagging them down. Great spot for comforting Vietnamese food! My boyfriend who is half Vietnamese, introduced this place to me, when I asked him to take me to his favorite pho spot. So obviously had to to put their pho to the test. Definitely is the pho that you dream of having on a cold rainy day for that extra comfort! They definitely did not skimp on the meat or noodles, definitely bang for you buck too when it was just 1$ more to upgrade to the large bowl! Its 13$ for a regular size and 14$ for the large, which I got. While we we were enjoying our pho, we noticed all the tables around us had this catfish dish, which we both knew we had to get next time. We enjoyed the food here so much, that we literally came back the next day for the Bun Cha Ca Thit Nuong ( fried catfish + bbq pork spring roll platter). It comes with rice paper, an assortment of veggies/herbs, and vermecelli noodles to make fresh spring rolls. The catfish was perfectly crisp, juicy and the dill on it really elevated the overall dish and tasted even better as a spring roll! The bbq pork was tasty too but I the catfish was definitely a stand out. Definitely feeds more than 2 people, so we had a lot of left overs. Great deal for 33$! This spot also has solid thai tea and other boba drinks! Overall service was very friendly and efficient. On a friday night, there is a line outside, but it moves pretty fast. Pho Kim Long is located in a small shopping plaza with abundance parking. I came around 7:30 PM on a weekday and the place was still busy with a lot of customers. Combination Pho was average, I asked for steamed bean sprouts, waitress acknowledged, and raw bean sprouts came out (also very stingy with the bean sprouts, maybe 20 bean sprouts?). I also asked for some sriracha and they came out with a tiny amount of sriracha in a tablespoon size takeout container. This place seems to be favored well by its customers. I came on Sunday night at 6pm and from 6pm until past closing at 9:30pm there was a steady line of customers in and out and packed to the brim. I very much loved the decor, although it was a mom and pop place, it is very elegant and has a great vibe. There is even outside seating although on a cold night like tonight it was not ideal. Surprisingly there were a few brave soles outside enjoying their bowls of pho. Which is a testament to their food. For a place this size and with the volume of customers I was a bit upset with the restroom. If you can, go before going to eat. Even in the men's room there is only one toilet and one urinal and one sink. Thankfully the door can lock. Now to the real deal, their food. I ordered a number one bowl of pho and it delighted my taste buds better than I could have imagined. The broth was full of flavor, meat packed to brim, and piping hot. I know this isn't popular but I need tendon and tripe. I judge a place on its authenticity on its meat offerings for its pho. They also offered chicken pho too, which I can't speak to. I did order an appetizer as well which was their jumbo bbq shrimp. They were pretty good, but not as huge as you might hoped or believed. I've come here two times in one month because I think this is one of the best pho places I've ever been to LOL. I'm a little sad I only found out about this now because I grew up around here but have always been going to other pho places in the area and now that we've moved to the East Bay, finding a place equivalent to this is a bit tough! First of all, the hours for this place is VERY different compared to other pho places. This isn't your drunk stop, late-at-night pho restaurant. This is more like.. date night or early morning pho LOL. Also this place is CRACKIN'. The two times I've been to this place has always been extremely busy and with the parking lot so small, parking can sometimes be a little too difficult to find. The lines have been out of the door the two times I've gone on a random weekday evening and another time on Saturday lunch. The pho here though is GREAT. The broth is not oily and they have fresh rice noodles (which I really love because I don't think I've ever been offered that in other places?). They also offer some other Vietnamese dishes on the menu and it's not an overwhelming amount compared to other places I've been to. The meat here is also very tender and everything about it seems to be of quality. The only downside is though... customer service and the fact that the sriracha and hoisin sauce are still in little packets!!!!! You can definitely ask for more but it does get a little annoying with how busy it is all the time. My kids usually get the grilled pork over rice with either shrimp or egg rolls. Their Vietnamese iced coffee is nice and strong too. Ordered their #1 combo pho today. Here is the reason for only 2 star: (1) Price is on the expensive side for $17.50. This is the reason the restaurant is not busy at all during lunch time; (2) The pho broth is not hot, just warm. The pho is too soft. (3) The amount of meat is on the low side. (4) They rantion on saracha source even though they do not use the orginal saracha source. They do not have the bottle on the table. The Bun Cha Ca La Vong is so good here!! I can support the popularity and understand why the line forms outside every weekend. For a table of two on a Sunday at 6:15 PM, we only waited maybe 10 minutes. The staff are very efficient. You definitely must try their Bun Cha Ca La Vong if you love fish or DIY spring rolls. Very fun date night food. The fish is served on a hot plate on top of a bed of onions, peanuts, and dill. Each fish fillet was very smooth, succulent, and very flavorful!! You don't even need to dip your wrap into any sauce since it was seasoned so well. (There is mam tom and fish sauce provided though). I absolutely love that you can make this into a lettuce wrap or use the rice paper to roll it up. Definitely on the expensive side. 2 servings of fish for ~$40 after tax. -1 star though... My biggest complaint is my concern for the cleanliness. Their health score of 61/100 definitely shows. Our plates and bowls had residue and leftover food on them, which was pretty unsettling. There was some debris floating in our hot water that we dip the rice paper in also... Another inconvenience is that you pay for your bill at the counter, but if multiple customers need to pay at once, there's a line that snakes inside the restaurant. Because when there is too much ice, the tea loses its taste and my boss's throat hurts.. when I picked it up half of the container was full of ice. There is a lack of training in Customer Service. When you are in that business, Customer should always be right and follow what the customers want. You are not the one who will be followed. With a few rare exceptions, Pho Kim Long has delivered a consistent experience for me after 30+ visits. I usually opt for their #1 beef pho combo whenever I develop a craving for pho. I have had better soups in the past, but this soup is definitely better than average. There's usually a healthy portion of noodles and meat as well. Sometimes, I crave the vermicelli (especially when it is hotter out). In that case, I usually go for the combo vermicelli with pork and egg roll. The pork has been consistently well seasoned the egg rolls are always crispy. If I'm craving caffeine and something sweet, Pho Kim Long's Vietnamese Iced Coffee and Thai Iced Tea are both excellent choices to give me that fix. read more

I've come here twice and traveled from Fairfield. They are famous for their grilled fish dish which is called Bun Cha Ca La Vong and it's very good. But today, kind of disappointed as they forgotten our order. Tables that arrived after us who ordered the same dish gotten theirs before us. During weekend lunch, a huge line can form outside. However, the servers and chefs are very efficient and the line moves pretty quickly. I come to Pho Kim Long for the noodle soups, like Bun Bo Hue. The broths are amazing and the BBH has the perfect amount of spice! I also really like the egg rolls (Cha Gio), they're super crispy! I remember eating here when the interior was...not as nice and they took cash only. Over the years, this restaurant has attracted so many positive reviews that they've been able to upgrade everything. They're still as busy as they were before, if not busier! For my order, I asked for the regular #3 which is different kinds of beef and tendon. For a regular sized bowl, there was more than enough.
