Leyna our servicer checked on us a few times and was very sweet. Danny was also very kind when he first took our order. Viet coffee- yummy! I really like the flavor. The egg foam makes the coffee very smooth and the coffee isn't too overpowering (I don't feel like I'll have a heart attack) but still packs a lot of flavor. I got the chicken pho and the portion was HUGE. Chicken was tender and the most chicken I've had in a pho. Only thing is I wish the broth was a little more flavorful buuuut honestly still good.
Came here on a Sunday for a late lunch. We were a party of 2 and were seated right away. Parking is always a pain in that plaza so just be prepared for that. We ordered the pork and shrimp spring rolls for appetizer. They were decent though I felt like they could've been rolled a bit tighter. Everything started falling out after the first bite. We each got a bowl of the Pho Nom. It's definitely a huge serving, especially with the two shanks. The meat was very tender and fell right off the bone. For drinks we got the lychee lemonade and the lychee lotus cocktail. Both were surprisingly so good. They taste very similar, just one has alcohol. Overall my first experience here was good. The drinks were tasty and the food was good. Service was quick as well. The pho was definitely on the pricey side though, so not sure I'd come back as there are so many other affordable but still tasty options out there.
My first time here and I was very impressed and surprised with their presentation! Located on Convoy, Pho Nom shares a parking structure with several other restaurants. It will take a bit of time to find parking. Pho Nom is small inside and from what I saw, could seat about 80 people. They were blasting the AC and you could see it because their decor swayed. They had a bunch of fake plants hanging from their ceiling and it was quite pretty. I will say, paying $18-$20 for a bowl of Pho made my little heart hurt. I was hoping it was the best Pho of my life for that price. I ordered their short rib bowl and waited. The server brought it out without soup, and came back with a kettle to pour our soup into. It was a very nice gesture and quite a sight to see your food being cooked right in front of you. The bowls were huge and very nice. I could see where the dollars went. Their broth was decent and flavorful. They put your bowl with green onions and cilantro. I wouldn't mind stopping by here again. You get your bang for your buck!
Tried several items: Pho nom pho - loved the beef ribs, inclusion of an egg was nice, broth was solid, however overall it was just ok Broken rice - grilled pork was solid, egg meatloaf ok, overall a solid dish but not outstanding Egg rolls - fresh and crispy, very tasty Chili tamarind wings - good crisp, enjoyed the flavor Service was pretty poor, friendly but quite slow. Overall the dishes were solid but overpriced. Much better Vietnamese food can be found elsewhere.
We had a great first experience here for dinner. The space was small but very pretty, with lots of floral decorations. Our servers Danny and Lana were very attentive and efficient. The food was excellent, I had pho with short rib and my husband had pho with backribs. The short rib was tender, and the broth was very flavorful. The back ribs were also very tender, although some parts were a bit tendon-y. I enjoyed the satay sauce, it had an umami flavor. We also tried the lychee lemonade which was good, but mostly tasted like regular lemonade. I would definitely recommend this place for pho!
After driving into Kearny Mesa craving a good bowl of pho, Yelp led us straight into the chaos that is the Convoy parking lot -- survival alone deserves an appetizer. But once inside Pho Num, the place was such a vibe. Colorful flowers everywhere, cute decor, TVs playing Vietnam street food scenes, and late 90s/early 2000s R&B had me singing before the broth even arrived. Definitely date-night worthy. We ordered the Vietnamese egg coffee (SO good -- get the glass cup for the full aesthetic experience) and the lychee lemonade with free refills. Egg rolls were perfectly crispy and disappeared fast. I got the boneless short rib pho where they dramatically pour the scorching broth over the raw meat tableside -- delicious and honestly even better the next day. Loved that they didn't skimp on the garnishes either. My husband ordered the broken rice which came with a broth soup (be careful, it burnt my tongue-hate that feeling), let's just say asking for a "well done" egg turned it into something resembling a Brillo pad. Sorry Overall, solid 4 stars -- maybe 4.25 if Yelp allowed it. A little pricey ($20 pho hurts a little), menu is limited, and I personally like thicker noodles. But the broth, service, and vibes absolutely brought us back to life. We'll definitely be back.
Visit April 20226: This is a cute little restaurant that to me gives a dinner-date vibe. The decor is vibrant with a plethora of colorful faux plants. TV's show walking/riding tours of Vietnam which I actually found interesting as I ate. Service was fairly good. It was a one man show up when visited. Greeter, busboy, waiter, and cashier. It was early dinner time on a Wednesday but the traffic was already building up. Can't imagine what it would be like on a Friday or Saturday night. He was pleasant and did a fantastic job of taking care of the entire front. My wife and I shared their signature "Pho Nom" bowl. It was hearty coming with bone-in rib, sliced short rib, brisket, and a beef ball. The usual accoutrements of pho though they also add their own house satay sauce on the side. Tasty. The serve it and pour broth tableside which was kind of classy. Never had that done at a pho place. However, my wife and I thought the beef rib was a bit tough, and the noodles and broth were both solid though not spectacular where I wanted to 5-star it. We also ordered fresh spring rolls. Those were good. I would say Pho Nom is worth the visit and leave it up to you if it is a return trip place.
Finally got to try Pho Nom and I'm really glad I did. The moment you walk in, the space feels super clean and modern with a nice aesthetic. The menu is pretty simple and on the smaller side, which made me a little unsure at first, and I will say there aren't vegetarian options if that's something you need. I ordered the chicken egg rolls and the chicken pho. The egg rolls were crispy and really good, but the pho was the standout. I usually find chicken pho can be a bit plain, but this was actually super flavorful and comforting. The broth had a lot of depth, and the chicken was surprisingly tender and not dry or chewy at all. Service was smooth and everything came out quickly. Overall, it was a really solid experience and I'd definitely come back and recommend it.
Ambiance, on point. Decor, Vietnam. Service, A1. Leyna poured the broth herself in the pho bowl infront of me. This place is a great photo op. Back drop's backing. Walk in and find yourself in an aesthetically appealing restaurant. Now, you're sat at the table. Menus on a QR code at the corner of the table. The menus user friendly. First thing I noticed was the big beef rib in the "Pho Nom". Secondly, no vermicelli. Ended up with the pho beef with no bone, rice plate, spring rolls, Vietnamese egg coffee and lychee drink. Didn't finish the pho bowl, rice plate came out with "wet" rice. Meat in the pho, thicc with two c's. I asked for a second bowl of rice, came back on point. Shrimps in spring roll were not as crispy as I like. Overall, aesthetically pleasing restaurant.
Came here for dinner based on stellar Yelp reviews, and because we love pho. The restaurant is in probably the busiest plaza on Convoy where parking is always an issue. Tonight, we lucked into front row parking as soon as we pulled in (parking karma!). We made a reservation and came on time, but we're still told to wait outside while they "get our table ready". There was only 1 table that needed clearing, but we still waited 10-15 minutes before being seated. For food, we ordered the pork and shrimp spring rolls to share, the short rib pho, and the beef rib with bone pho. The spring roll was good, especially with the sauce. For the pho, the noodle is brought out first, and then hot broth is poured on which is a nice idea - - only if the broth is added shortly after the noodle and meat is brought out. In our case, they ran out of broth after the first bowl, so my beef rib noodle sat there for a good 15 minutes, which not surprisingly dries out the beef bone. By the time I tried eating it, the meat was so tough it was not edible. To make it worse, one of the bones is too big for the bowl, so a portion of it was not soaking in the broth when I did finally get it. The beef bone was obviously cooked before it was brought out, and if I ate it right away it probably would have been okay. But because I had to wait for the broth... I did try the other pho while waiting for my broth, and the broth was flavorful which is important. Aside from the issue with broth, we also had to ask for the accompanying vegetables, whereas everyone else got it before their noodles came out. The restaurant is small with about 8-10 tables. The two servers seemed to be constantly busy, just not much with us (water never refilled). We really wanted to like this place given the glowing reviews, but our experience was lacking. Maybe we will come back and give it another try.
This spot is a fantastic find--hip, clean, and beautifully designed. The service was top-notch, with Danny and Leyna making us feel well taken care of throughout the meal. Everything we ordered hit the mark: the egg coffee was rich and delicious, the pho broth was impressively deep and flavorful, and the lychee lemonade was perfectly light and sweet. Don't miss the egg rolls--they were fried to a perfect, satisfying crunch. Highly recommended!

The restaurant has pretty decor inside and it's very clean. I got the Pho Nom, it was delicious and can feed more than one person! The tamarind chicken wings 10/10, it was sweet and tangy. The service was good, they pour your broth in front of you. The Vietnamese Egg Coffee is really good. Although it is not as strong as the Vietnamese coffee I'm used to, it is still tasty. read more

Service: 5 stars, they went above and beyond. We had bumped into a friend at the restaurant. After they left the waiter noticed they had forgotten their kid's bowl/utensils so he went ahead and washed and bagged it for us to return to her. So kind and observant! They also checked on us often and were on top of filling up our drinks. They also play the birthday song over their loudspeakers if you request it for your table. Food was great! I think they're all part of this chain of other restaurants (flama llama, foomosa, etc. their cute take out bag has their icon for each one of them). The short rib pho seemingly comes with brisket meat. I thought it'd have that short rib meat without the bone but nevertheless it was still a hearty and delicious soup base! Gotta try the bone in soup next time. Parking is always crazy here, but whatcha going to do about it. It's a relatively small restaurant but beautifully decorated. PHO "NAH" Hmm?? (3.5 stars) This is the sister restaurant to Viet Nom and another extension to the Steamy Pig sister series. I definitely prefer Viet Nom over Pho Nom, the pho hit average and hit differently here. First and foremost, be prepared to pay some change for expensive parking in plazas that barely have any parking and we can thank our wonderful annoying Mayor for the useless bike lanes in the area for bougier pho that fell short of expectations. :: ORDER :: GALAXY LEMONADE ($5.50) - lychee syrup, lemonade, butterfly pea tea. This was yummy! Sweet, citrusy, and then balanced with the butterfly pea. HIGHLY RECOMMEND SHRIMP SPRING ROLLS ($8) - rice paper, lettuce, mint, noodles, shrimp, peanut sauce. Why were these the size of mini burritos?! Very noodley spring rolls, more noodles than veggies (I prefer 50/50 or the other way around. I do appreciate the shrimp being full bodied and not sliced in half but that plus the noodles but it made the springs rolls bloat. They were also loosely wrapped (come on now... you can roll better than that) making them easily fall apart after one dip and bite - quickly turns to deconstructed spring rolls at the tip of your fingers. Taste was good, nice pickling of the vegetable but lacked greenery (more mint and leaf greens and cucumbers would be nicer). Sauce was average. IF you need a fillet this would be good. RECOMMEND RIB EYE BONELESS PHO ($15) - this is suppose to be as outstanding as the sister restaurant Viet Nom but it felt short here. The flavor of the broth was prepared differently - something authentic felt missing. My short rib meat wasn't as tender and buttery and fatty as I had it at the sister restaurant, it felt like regular pho tai. I had set high expectations because of the sister restaurant only to view this place as an average joe pho place with a pricer tag and pretty decor. New great pho spot with delicious looking and tasting pho. This place just opened up and we were able to try it. It had a great vibe on the inside. Bright lights and colorful flowers. The menu was nice and modern with big photos. I ordered the Pho nom and it had solid broth but was a bit pricey for what I got. Large quantity which is nice. I feel like there are better pho options around San Diego but I did enjoy it and if I'm craving a large beef rib I know where I'll go. Service was solid. We interrupted on the servers lunch break it seemed but they were still very on top of it. Food took longer than I had anticipated. Parking as always in Convoy is hectic. They have plaza parking which is busy at night but not as bad during lunch. They also have some side streets nearby if parking is needed. read more

This is my first time at this restaurant and I have to say that it was an amazing experience. Though the price for the pho is slightly higher than other pho restaurants, the quality and portions of expensive ingredients more than makes up for it. The pho nam comes with two large beef bones that were so tender and delicious! I would come back for the Vietnamese egg coffee alone. I would recommend this place to my friends and family. read more

Bro! The pho here is PhoNomenal. Let me explain why. The broth tasted like it was done the right way, long and strong. The Nem with the crispy egg roll wrap on the inside gave me an experience you can only find in OC, California. The drinks are quite specialized. I ordered a Galaxy Lemonade that was out of this world. I also got a Che to go. And now I don't know how I'll be walking to my car. Service at most Viet spots are super nice. And the ambiance is beautifully designed. Our waiter was James and he did everything right. See attached picture. I could bring a date here or come with my family. This works but parking anywhere in Convoy sucks. I would usually take half a star off for that but this place with all its greatness deserves it. And James is the best!! read more

Me and my husband finally decided to stop by here for the first time since Pho Nom took up the spot previously held by Red Moon Noodle House. The interior has a lot of trendy elements you see nowadays: floral garlands hanging from the ceiling alongside lanterns, a fake green wall with leaves and the like, and lime washed walls with dark wood accents. We ordered two dishes here! The PHỞ NỘM is extremely decadent with the beef short rib, and goes well with the lemongrass sate and white pepper like they recommend! However, the broth is lacking a little bit compared to other pho places we've been to, and the meat is what really shines through here. The BÚN THỊT NƯỚNG is also tasty and has a generous amount of egg rolls and grilled pork. Unfortunately, the kitchen service was a little slow on getting food out. Because we came hungry, it felt like we were waiting a while ... but when the food did come, it tasted good! read more

The selection is not too big so it's easy to pick what you want. Love how they decorated the inside. It's super colorful and fun. I heard many great raves for this place but was hesitant to try $25 pho. But the short rib pho did live up to its hype. It came with 2 short rib bones, (1large one and 1 smaller one) raw meats and meat balls. The bowl comes without the broth and then our server pours the broth into the bowl. This is a big bowl and we shared it amongst 2 people. They use high quality meats and the broth was light, clean n delicious. The other pho options are about $18. So it's more expensive than other pho places but I think the quality here is better. The ambiance is very cute too. It's not your typical hole in the wall pho shop. It's more modern and it's owned by the same company that owns Formosa, Steamy Piggy, Flama Lama and Yun. Servers were friendly . There's only 10 tables there but we were able to snag a table for 2 on a Saturday night at 6:30pm. Parking does kinda suck but it's doable between the lot and street parking. read more

The Pho Nom was PHONOMENAL!! It is a must-order with the most tender bone-in beef short rib, boneless sliced short ribs, and meatballs. The broth itself was super rich and flavorful, noodles were cooked perfectly al dente, and the portions were plentiful. There bone-in beef short rib was so tender that it fell off the bone with minimal effort, and not to mention its hearty size! It was an incredibly generous hunk of meat. As for the vibes, it felt more trendy with flowers hanging from the ceiling. Service was great and attentive. Only drawback is the parking in the infamous Convoy lot that is shared with Crab Hut, TapEx, etc but we got lucky with easy parking. They implemented a paid parking system in that lot, but first 2 hours are free! Definitely check it out before it blows up and lines get too long. read more

I JUST WANT TO SAY THAT THIS PLACE IS AMAZING! I ate here last night and left my Louis Vuitton purse there right before closing. This morning, I called and Olivia said they had my bag She was so sweet and personable. I'm not sure what the servers name was last night but he was also absolutely amazing! The food is so good! The rib bone is literally fall off the bone. You really can't go wrong with whatever you order and the ambiance is GREAT! Just all around a great business with honest people read more

So glad to have this pho spot so close to our home. We are a huge fan of rib bone pho and it's hard to find a place that doesn't overcook the meat. This place knows how to cook it since it's fall of the bone type of tender. Look how CLEAN the bone is. It also came with 4 slices of meatball and plenty of super fatty beef slices. Very close to LA's Nam Kitchen or All About Pho. We also got their Bun Thit Nuong - the egg roll was freshly fried and pork is chefs kiss. Come hungry because the portions are huge. The spot is tiny but cozy and the decor is very trendy. Service is excellent, Zidane checks in at the right time and was helpful during the ordering process. Free parking up to 2 hours. They still have their 10% soft opening promo. read more
