Leyna our servicer checked on us a few times and was very sweet. Danny was also very kind when he first took our order. Viet coffee- yummy! I really like the flavor. The egg foam makes the coffee very smooth and the coffee isn't too overpowering (I don't feel like I'll have a heart attack) but still packs a lot of flavor. I got the chicken pho and the portion was HUGE. Chicken was tender and the most chicken I've had in a pho. Only thing is I wish the broth was a little more flavorful buuuut honestly still good.

Came here on a Sunday for a late lunch. We were a party of 2 and were seated right away. Parking is always a pain in that plaza so just be prepared for that. We ordered the pork and shrimp spring rolls for appetizer. They were decent though I felt like they could've been rolled a bit tighter. Everything started falling out after the first bite. We each got a bowl of the Pho Nom. It's definitely a huge serving, especially with the two shanks. The meat was very tender and fell right off the bone. For drinks we got the lychee lemonade and the lychee lotus cocktail. Both were surprisingly so good. They taste very similar, just one has alcohol. Overall my first experience here was good. The drinks were tasty and the food was good. Service was quick as well. The pho was definitely on the pricey side though, so not sure I'd come back as there are so many other affordable but still tasty options out there.

My first time here and I was very impressed and surprised with their presentation! Located on Convoy, Pho Nom shares a parking structure with several other restaurants. It will take a bit of time to find parking. Pho Nom is small inside and from what I saw, could seat about 80 people. They were blasting the AC and you could see it because their decor swayed. They had a bunch of fake plants hanging from their ceiling and it was quite pretty. I will say, paying $18-$20 for a bowl of Pho made my little heart hurt. I was hoping it was the best Pho of my life for that price. I ordered their short rib bowl and waited. The server brought it out without soup, and came back with a kettle to pour our soup into. It was a very nice gesture and quite a sight to see your food being cooked right in front of you. The bowls were huge and very nice. I could see where the dollars went. Their broth was decent and flavorful. They put your bowl with green onions and cilantro. I wouldn't mind stopping by here again. You get your bang for your buck!

Tried several items: Pho nom pho - loved the beef ribs, inclusion of an egg was nice, broth was solid, however overall it was just ok Broken rice - grilled pork was solid, egg meatloaf ok, overall a solid dish but not outstanding Egg rolls - fresh and crispy, very tasty Chili tamarind wings - good crisp, enjoyed the flavor Service was pretty poor, friendly but quite slow. Overall the dishes were solid but overpriced. Much better Vietnamese food can be found elsewhere.

We had a great first experience here for dinner. The space was small but very pretty, with lots of floral decorations. Our servers Danny and Lana were very attentive and efficient. The food was excellent, I had pho with short rib and my husband had pho with backribs. The short rib was tender, and the broth was very flavorful. The back ribs were also very tender, although some parts were a bit tendon-y. I enjoyed the satay sauce, it had an umami flavor. We also tried the lychee lemonade which was good, but mostly tasted like regular lemonade. I would definitely recommend this place for pho!

After driving into Kearny Mesa craving a good bowl of pho, Yelp led us straight into the chaos that is the Convoy parking lot -- survival alone deserves an appetizer. But once inside Pho Num, the place was such a vibe. Colorful flowers everywhere, cute decor, TVs playing Vietnam street food scenes, and late 90s/early 2000s R&B had me singing before the broth even arrived. Definitely date-night worthy. We ordered the Vietnamese egg coffee (SO good -- get the glass cup for the full aesthetic experience) and the lychee lemonade with free refills. Egg rolls were perfectly crispy and disappeared fast. I got the boneless short rib pho where they dramatically pour the scorching broth over the raw meat tableside -- delicious and honestly even better the next day. Loved that they didn't skimp on the garnishes either. My husband ordered the broken rice which came with a broth soup (be careful, it burnt my tongue-hate that feeling), let's just say asking for a "well done" egg turned it into something resembling a Brillo pad. Sorry Overall, solid 4 stars -- maybe 4.25 if Yelp allowed it. A little pricey ($20 pho hurts a little), menu is limited, and I personally like thicker noodles. But the broth, service, and vibes absolutely brought us back to life. We'll definitely be back.

Visit April 20226: This is a cute little restaurant that to me gives a dinner-date vibe. The decor is vibrant with a plethora of colorful faux plants. TV's show walking/riding tours of Vietnam which I actually found interesting as I ate. Service was fairly good. It was a one man show up when visited. Greeter, busboy, waiter, and cashier. It was early dinner time on a Wednesday but the traffic was already building up. Can't imagine what it would be like on a Friday or Saturday night. He was pleasant and did a fantastic job of taking care of the entire front. My wife and I shared their signature "Pho Nom" bowl. It was hearty coming with bone-in rib, sliced short rib, brisket, and a beef ball. The usual accoutrements of pho though they also add their own house satay sauce on the side. Tasty. The serve it and pour broth tableside which was kind of classy. Never had that done at a pho place. However, my wife and I thought the beef rib was a bit tough, and the noodles and broth were both solid though not spectacular where I wanted to 5-star it. We also ordered fresh spring rolls. Those were good. I would say Pho Nom is worth the visit and leave it up to you if it is a return trip place.

Finally got to try Pho Nom and I'm really glad I did. The moment you walk in, the space feels super clean and modern with a nice aesthetic. The menu is pretty simple and on the smaller side, which made me a little unsure at first, and I will say there aren't vegetarian options if that's something you need. I ordered the chicken egg rolls and the chicken pho. The egg rolls were crispy and really good, but the pho was the standout. I usually find chicken pho can be a bit plain, but this was actually super flavorful and comforting. The broth had a lot of depth, and the chicken was surprisingly tender and not dry or chewy at all. Service was smooth and everything came out quickly. Overall, it was a really solid experience and I'd definitely come back and recommend it.

Ambiance, on point. Decor, Vietnam. Service, A1. Leyna poured the broth herself in the pho bowl infront of me. This place is a great photo op. Back drop's backing. Walk in and find yourself in an aesthetically appealing restaurant. Now, you're sat at the table. Menus on a QR code at the corner of the table. The menus user friendly. First thing I noticed was the big beef rib in the "Pho Nom". Secondly, no vermicelli. Ended up with the pho beef with no bone, rice plate, spring rolls, Vietnamese egg coffee and lychee drink. Didn't finish the pho bowl, rice plate came out with "wet" rice. Meat in the pho, thicc with two c's. I asked for a second bowl of rice, came back on point. Shrimps in spring roll were not as crispy as I like. Overall, aesthetically pleasing restaurant.

Came here for dinner based on stellar Yelp reviews, and because we love pho. The restaurant is in probably the busiest plaza on Convoy where parking is always an issue. Tonight, we lucked into front row parking as soon as we pulled in (parking karma!). We made a reservation and came on time, but we're still told to wait outside while they "get our table ready". There was only 1 table that needed clearing, but we still waited 10-15 minutes before being seated. For food, we ordered the pork and shrimp spring rolls to share, the short rib pho, and the beef rib with bone pho. The spring roll was good, especially with the sauce. For the pho, the noodle is brought out first, and then hot broth is poured on which is a nice idea - - only if the broth is added shortly after the noodle and meat is brought out. In our case, they ran out of broth after the first bowl, so my beef rib noodle sat there for a good 15 minutes, which not surprisingly dries out the beef bone. By the time I tried eating it, the meat was so tough it was not edible. To make it worse, one of the bones is too big for the bowl, so a portion of it was not soaking in the broth when I did finally get it. The beef bone was obviously cooked before it was brought out, and if I ate it right away it probably would have been okay. But because I had to wait for the broth... I did try the other pho while waiting for my broth, and the broth was flavorful which is important. Aside from the issue with broth, we also had to ask for the accompanying vegetables, whereas everyone else got it before their noodles came out. The restaurant is small with about 8-10 tables. The two servers seemed to be constantly busy, just not much with us (water never refilled). We really wanted to like this place given the glowing reviews, but our experience was lacking. Maybe we will come back and give it another try.

This spot is a fantastic find--hip, clean, and beautifully designed. The service was top-notch, with Danny and Leyna making us feel well taken care of throughout the meal. Everything we ordered hit the mark: the egg coffee was rich and delicious, the pho broth was impressively deep and flavorful, and the lychee lemonade was perfectly light and sweet. Don't miss the egg rolls--they were fried to a perfect, satisfying crunch. Highly recommended!

A very cute and floral interior! I absolutely loved how it looked. The menu is a little small for my taste, but some people love small menus. I had the meatball and short rib pho and while it was good, it's definitely not the best I've had but it was far from the worst. If your looking for a cute date, instagramable place, or a cute space for some pho then this may be your place! read more

I had a great first time eating here for a graduation celebration - the Pho Nom pho had a deep, flavorful broth and the ribs were extremely tender and effortlessly fell from the bone. I paired my soup with the coconut pandan tea which tasted like slightly sweet coconut water with pandan. I was expecting a thicker coconut milk flavor, and was pleasantly surprised by how refreshing and subtle it was! It went perfect with my meal, which was kindly supported by my servers Danny and Zidane! I felt very welcome and will look forward to coming back very soon! read more

I tried coming on Tuesday night, but it was jampacked and looked like there was only one waiter so we weren't able to get seated, which was a bummer. The 1st time we came to check out this place July 2025. The restaurant NOM caught our eyes. We though must be the one we been looking for compare to other PHO. We came in around 5pm. The decoration was refresh and compatible. We ordered the specialty PHO NOM. Oh man the broth was different than the whole San Diego we have gone. It's was speechless. And other appetizers sauces also taste different fresh. Services before are ok because new place take time. I don't mind. I have told all of my friend come to try but no feedback from them. Today 3/2026 we came back the broth we totally different plain taste not the same like be4. We were very disappointed. These are my options. We are not coming back near futures. read more

Good food, cute decor. The broth does taste different than other pho restaurants as other reviews have mentioned, probably due to the fish sauce which is specifically listed on the menu. I love the amount of limes they give you to add acidity to the broth. The short rib pho was very tasty, especially the tender meat. The price point is pretty high ($16.50 for short rib pho and $18.50 for meatball + short rib pho). The portion size of the pho is pretty big with lots of meat, which somewhat justifies the price. The shrimp spring rolls are also very tasty and the shrimp was large and fresh. The peanut sauce was very good! Super savory and has a nice umami. Just wish that they have a shrimp AND pork spring roll option instead of just one or the other. Service was okay. The waiter is nice and courteous but a little nonchalant and speaks really softly. read more

Staff are so nice and work hard to keep the wait short! We got the tamarind wings and they came piping hot and crispy even with a thick sauce coating. The flavor reminds me of sweet and sour pork and the wings come a coconut dip that completely ups the flavor. Yum!! read more

"Dinner at Pho Nom tonight! I ordered the short rib pho and the serving was huge! The meat was very tender and the broth was perfectly balanced--the saltiness and sweetness were heavenly! I also tried the Vietnamese egg coffee. The creaminess was just to die for! The service was great, and Jason was so friendly and patient. Overall, our first time at Pho Nom was a success! This review is for take out. I have to say, when I'm feeling a bit depressed, my go to comfort food is pho. There's something about the warm favors and fresh vegetables that's so inviting. I've ordered pho from a few places for take out here and been very disappointed. Not so here. The broth was plentiful and hot, and they included a considerable amount of vegetables. My only tiny complaint was the amount of fat on the brisket. Some pieces were nothing but fat. As I'm a girl, I understand the flavor thing but- I just couldn't eat it. Half of the meat went in the trash. Otherwise, it was lovely. read more

Hi there, I love this restaurant. I was a regular: the pho is solid, the tamarind wings delectable and the Hainanese Chicken my favorite. The reason I say "was" is because a couple weeks ago I went in to order it but it had been removed from the menu and replaced with another rice/meat dish. The beef/rice/veggie dish was very good but nothing compared to the simple, comforting and classic Hainanese Chicken dish with its' 3 signature sauces. Cute design of restaurant, and loved the food. i was really impressed by the quality of the pho. I've eaten at many amazing pho places, yet the pho nom was some of the best I have ever had. the service was good as well. the only thing i could give a suggestion for is maybe have images for the food on the menus or somewhere in the restaurant. i like ordering blindly, but i know the party i was with was surprised with some of the selections we made. read more

My friend and I went here with high expectations... we were let down. First, we were told the wait was 10 minutes. He ended up waiting at least 35-45 minutes. The pho was definitely Americanized, not authentic at all. It comes in a hot stone bowl, but it's not sizzling hot like it should be if being put into that bowl. The pho was way too sweet as well. We also ordered the wings, egg rolls, and spring rolls. All were super Americanized tasting and very generic. I will not be coming back. read more

Was interested in trying the Pho Nom because of the delicious beefy ribs - the pho did not disappoint! A bit on the steep side for a $24.50 but I think you could get away with splitting the pho in half and getting an appetizer with someone. Really cute interior and service was very good the whole time! Parking lot can get really rough so do plan for that if you're coming during busy eating times. read more

The food took a while to come out, and the price seemed a little high at first, but OH MAN. The portions are huge and the pho tasted great! Pho Nom is absolutely pho-nomenol that's located in a small strip mall plaza. The restaurant itself is small with a small menu with not a whole lot of options. I got there at 2 pm on a Monday and there were only two other tables there. I liked the meatball and short rib pho. Good portion, the broth was clean and flavorful. They also offered us all free orange juice. However, if they knew they were having issues with the kitchen then they should've told us earlier before we got seated so people could go elsewhere rather than waiting an hour for their food. Overall, service here was very poor. In terms of food, it was unfortunately pretty good but not worth the wait. I really liked the simple toast with matcha cream on top as well as the curry hamburg. My friend ordered the shakshuka (not pictured because it came last and everyone just wanted to eat at that point) which was also pretty good. For the avocado toast, the toast was too hard so I wouldn't recommend it. We also ordered a yuzu and matcha yuzu mimosa. Both tasted like yuzu. The matcha yuzu one was basically a green yuzu mimosa. They have a vero water purification system so their water was really good lol.

I came for their two signature dishes while vacationing in San Diego: a bowl of Pho Nom followed by Vietnamese Egg Coffee. Both dishes lived up to and surpassed my expectations. The bowl of Pho Nom was massive, and it was a challenge to get about two-thirds of the way through it. This was a beef lover's feast filled with tender slices of short rib and brisket, wonderfully tasty beef balls, two huge and meaty back ribs, and topped by a perfectly poached egg. The broth was poured by the server and was richly satisfying. One of the best bowls of pho that I have ever had. This is likely a meal that could serve two people. I was very, very full at this point, and I'm not sure how I managed to consume the Vietnamese Egg Coffee, but I was not going to miss out on the opportunity to try this unique beverage that is uncommon at most Vietnamese restaurants in the northeast. Richer than the usual Vietnamese coffee, but just as satisfying. Since it was served over ice in a take-out cup, I was able to continue enjoying it in my car for the better part of the afternoon. I went to Pho Nom for the first time today after craving some pho & seeing good reviews. The staff was incredibly friendly & the food came out really fast. The portion size is actually quite big, bigger than I expected with a generous amount of noodles & protein. I believe you're getting what you pay for. The broth by itself without anything else added yet was different than any other broth I had but it was good. Very beefy with a nice blend of the fish oil. The chili oil that comes with the bean sprouts, lime, and rest of the fixings had such a good flavor! We also had the egg rolls which came with 4 & were bigger compared to other places which again is nice. They were good as well. Lastly, we had the galaxy lemonade which was good, not too sweet but with the perfect balance of the lychee flavor & lemonade. read more

Pho real, this place is PHO-nomenal! Just got back from Pho Nom and I'm still in a noodle coma. First off, let's talk about the pho. OH MY BROTH - it's gigantic! I ordered their signature pho and it was a bowl of steamy, savory perfection. The grilled pork spring rolls hit the table and I had a Brodard flashback (OC folks, you know the gold standard ). Crispy, chewy, sweet-savory... Honestly, I wasn't expecting to be transported, but these spring rolls had me like "Pho nom nom nom!" The service? Super friendly and welcoming - Ash was awesome! Tip: don't forget to look up! The ceiling is a whole vibe, with whimsical flowers and lanterns dangling above you. I was really looking forward to trying this place, but unfortunately the experience didn't go as expected. When we arrived around 11:30am shortly after opening, we were told there would be a 20-30 minute wait, even though several tables were open. It seemed like the restaurant was short-staffed, with one server handling the entire floor. A group that came in after us (without a reservation) was seated right away, which made the situation even more confusing. When I asked about it, I was told we still had to wait because no one was available to clean the tables. It's understandable when restaurants get busy, but the lack of communication and organization made it a frustrating visit. Pho Nom is the perfect pho spot if you're looking for nice ambiance and solid pho! Although the restaurant only has around maybe 12 tables (?) it adds to the intimate setting and overall cozy atmosphere. Whoever designed the interior should absolutely get a raise. The pho was definitely more flavorful than what we were used to. This is probably due to the specific fish sauce they use in their broth. The broth was more heavy than clean. It was still good either way but a little bit pricey for our taste :( But! Our servers Zidane and Danny were super chill and always came to help whenever we needed.
