Came here with a fellow Yelp Elite for lunch on a Saturday. We were surprised there were so many available parking spaces, then quickly realized it was because all of the spaces in the shared lot had been converted to paid parking. We decided to save a few bucks and parked down the street instead. The front of the restaurant has a really pretty bench decorated with all kinds of artificial flowers and makes a nice photo op. Inside, the walls and ceilings were beautifully decorated. I really appreciate all the effort that went into creating such an inviting space. Our server, Hoang, was the only server in the restaurant. He took good care of us and was rather quiet. We placed our orders, both got the meatball and boneless short rib pho that came with sliced short rib, sliced brisket, beef balls, onions, and scallions over a bed of rice noodles in a large ceramic bowl. The piping hot beef broth was poured into our bowls at the table, which made it extra hot. I really love this concept! A side of bean sprouts, basil, jalapeños, chili oil paste, and lime was provided so we could add according to our taste. When I make pho at home, I also have chili oil paste as a garnishment. It's better than just using Sriracha alone, so I appreciate this added condiment. My lunch companion is a big guy, so he polished his bowl. I ate a little more than half. In hindsight, I should've given him half of my bowl. For $18.50 a bowl, you definitely get your money's worth! The serving size was notably larger than other pho restaurants in San Diego. If you have a big appetite, you will not be disappointed with the portion size here. Lots of rice noodles and lots of meat! The pho broth was very fragrant. I want to say it had a sweeter and richer taste that reminded me of northern pho. In the northern region of Vietnam, the pho broth is different from the southern region. The south has a lighter flavor. I'm more accustomed to the southern styled broth, but I enjoyed this one as well. Overall, I enjoyed my experience but would've liked a more diverse menu that included vermicelli noodles. That said, I would still come back and recommend to friends and family. read more

We've been going to Pho Nom since it opened, and I've always loved the Bun Thjt Nuong (vermicelli noodles). My partner is all about the short rib pho/pho nom, so this was our go-to spot whenever I was craving vermicelli noodles. This time, we were craving pho and decided to come back, only to find out the Bún Thịt Nướng is no longer available. I ended up ordering the only non pho option, the Hainan chicken plate. Food: the short rib pho was amazing as always. Unfortunately, the Hainan chicken was very underwhelming, completely flavorless and dry. Never ordering that again. Service: Our server was friendly and attentive, especially considering he seemed to be handling the tables on his own. Ambiance: Very cute space with bright colors and fun decor. Located in a very very busy plaza so parking can be a bit difficult. The restaurant is small and cozy but played RnB / Soul music which was kind of odd for a noodle house. The decor was kind of off as well as it looked like a jungle inside. The restroom is clean but it is only one that is shared between men/women. Our server was Hoang. Nice kid and always trying to keep the place clean and tidy while serving and tending to the customers needs. We ordered a Pho Nom, Meatball + Boneless Short Rib, Shrimp Spring Roll and a Lychee Lemonade. Phon Nom: it came dry and they pour the broth into the bowl in front of you. It was good but nothing to rave about as I think it is a fusion that they are trying to do. The broth was good however, the bone in short rib was very tender as in it was falling off the bone. Meatball and Boneless Short Rib: It was good and again they put the broth into front of you which was different from any other Pho place we have been to. Shrimp Spring Roll: it was good but could be rolled a bit tighter as when you take a bite into the roll and dip it, the inside would come out. The peanut sauce was good, creamy and tasteful. Came here on a weekday for lunch, just as they were opening. A smaller restaurant with limited tables. There was one server during the time of our visit, and a few tables occupied. Their menu is on the smaller side as well, and I was a bit disappointed that a couple of the items on the menu was not available, so I had to go for my second choice (a vermicelli bowl). The meat was a on the tougher side, definitely overcooked with some pieces burned. The egg rolls were good. We ordered the special - the Pho Nom for $26 and it was worth every penny While this bowl is more than I'm used to paying for pho - even in San Diego - the price felt worth it to me! The portion size was huge and good for 2 people to share if they were small eaters. The broth was very flavorful and the bowl came stacked with meat and noodles! The broth was different from traditional broth to me in the way that there was less of the clove and cardamom but it had a Smokey umami and soy element to it which was greatly elevated due to the exceptional chili sauce they serve with it! I want to buy the stuff! It is incredible! I am a chili sauce connoisseur and this is easily some of the best I've ever had. I was so excited to try this place because everything i have has so far in this plaza has been amazing. We walked in but they seemed to only have two people working. One yoing man at the counter that didnt acknowledged us and one girl sitting at a table on her laptop? Not sure if she worked there or not but the young man kept stopping to talk to her. The inside of the restaurant was decorated very beautifully with greenery and light signs that made it welcoming but it was also pretty small inside. After 5 minutes I just walked up ans asked if we could sit anywhere and he said yes. We sat down and waited about 10 minutes before the young man brought us waters. And another 10 minutes for him to come take our order. During this time he sat another group of people next to us ans took our chopsticks, straws ans napkins container and put it on there table.. another group came in and were sat in front of us. For drinks we ordered Lychee Lotus and the Pomelo Bloom. Both drinks were lightly sweetened in their own way and had good flavor. For food we ordered the Pho Nom and the Pho Short rib and Meatball. The pho was brought to the table with no broth in it, just the meats, noodles onions and green onions which all were really high quality and delicious. The young man walked out of the kitchen with pur order and I guess the table who sat down in front, 20 minutes after us ordered the same thing because he served them first.. I want to be very honest, this usually happens to me in restaurants when I am not the ethicity of the food I am eating.. the young man then brought out our food and came back with a kettle to pour it into our bowls and held the kettle right over my friends lap and it dropped on his pants. I handed my friend a napkins and tried to discretely point it out to my friend but the young man asked if it spilled on him and my friend said yes but it's okay ans the young man apologized. This broth was absolutely not worth the wait.. it lacked so much flavor and I was so bummed we waited so long for it.. Overall great ingredients, mid broth, and bad service. We had a reservation on Google for 8:45 But the staff was nice and reserved the sit for us to go on at 6:30pm. Unfortunately, the parking situation was not great, we had to park 5 blocks away. The service at the restaurant was super slow. Looks like all the guests were waiting for awhile. Hour pho came out without broth, and it took a while before the waiter came back to fill it with broth. But the broth was simply not hot enough to cook the boneless short ribs. I did not know the boneless short rib was going to be uncooked meat. I had to ask for a separate bowl of broth to cook the meat. Thankful that they gave it since the meal was not satisfying since I was eating half cooked meat. The broken rice pork meat was colorless. I think they need to work on their fish sauce recipe. The pho is really good. Probably best pho in town but the service is just so annoying! Please, please either train the staff or hire more people. My experience could have been so much better. I've been here multiple times, all three times I have to wait 15mins. Pho doesn't take long to make. They set up the bowl of pho and then we had to wait like 10 mins to get the broth poured in while the noodles getting cooled down... which could affect how the pho taste when they pour hot broth in. Today , once again, I came in and the server had to do something in the back and I saw customers waiting and saying to themselves "I guess it's just one of them working" , so my experience isn't unique. I'd eat here once a week if the service was better. I left and went to formoosa today to have taiwanese noodle instead. What a disappointment. This place was super good! The meat was super tender, the broth was clean and they pour it for you upon getting your bowl, and the Sa Te was savory with a tinge of spice. First off, vibes are totally there. It's like take your favorite fun restaurant paired with a trendy, fun place to go out with friends for drinks and delicious food. I love the way that they decorated the place and they are playing some great music here too. I tried the eggrolls, which were fried in a really crispy, crunchy eggroll wrapper, and the filling is super good. Definitely have to have it with this sweet and spicy chili sauce. I also tried the Pho Nam, which had everything in it -- beef rib, brisket, and meatballs. It was actually quite a hefty bowl and I had to split it in half. I think if you were really really hungry you could definitely eat the whole thing on your own, but it would kind of be a struggle to be honest haha The meat is super good-- I think the beef rib is seasoned with fish sauce ?? so it has a slightly saltier taste and adds to the flavor of the broth. Brisket is also a must have, it's very tender and pairs well with the light broth. The broth is really good-- not too underwhelming and also not too rich, oily, or salty. it's a very light broth, but still has a lot of flavor. It's quite unique here because you first get the bowl with all of the dry ingredients and then they come out with a kettle that has the broth poured over. I also tried the green thai tea, which caught me off guard at first because it doesn't really taste like thai tea and it looks like Matcha. It's quite rich and pretty sweet and has a unique taste after taking a couple of sips. I started to like it a lot more. I've visited this location twice, and both experiences were severely disappointing. I'm a big fan of the other locations on Convoy, and had high hopes for Pho Nom. The food was absolutely delicious, and the restaurant itself is very attractive, which makes the poor service and overall experience disappointing. On both visits, nearly half of the tables were covered with dirty dishes because the employees appeared busy and understaffed. The floors were noticeably dirty and there were puddles of water near the restrooms. No one greeted or acknowledged my party when we arrived, until I spoke to someone at the counter. Several customers who arrived after us left because no one acknowledged or assisted them. During my lunch visit, we were told someone would help us shortly, but after waiting 15 minutes, the only waiter available actually walked out of the restaurant. For at least an additional 15 minutes, there appeared to be no staff attending to customers inside the restaurant at all. On my other visit, our table was placed so close to another table that my partner couldn't even pull out his chair to sit down. We had to move the table ourselves just to fit. Because of the cramped setup of our table, the server repeatedly had to squeeze past my chair while carrying food, passing hot soup dishes over my head. I was genuinely concerned about hot soup being spilled on me. Unfortunately, that concern wasn't unfounded. Later, an employee accidentally spilled a pitcher of water, and some of it splashed onto me and my chair! The employee did not apologize or acknowledge what happened. I had to clean the chair myself!! It wasn't until another waiter realized the situation that I finally received an apology. The food is excellent, but the service, cleanliness, staffing issues, and overall customer experience have been consistently disappointing during both of my visits. read more

I was really craving some pho and being that it was getting late, there were few options left. I drove over to pho nom and got there about 30 minutes before they closed. To my dismay we were only allowed to order to go. Being a little sick and starving, my husband and I did just that. The restaurant itself was clean and inviting. Pho to go never tastes good and I was quite annoyed that it took 2 tries for me at home to finally find a bowl big enough to hold the soup and noodles. The pho itself was only OK not worth the $24 I paid for it. My husband was not a fan of his dry noodles because he felt that the texture of the noodle was a bit soggy even though it was a dry noodle... we had the same issue with the spring rolls. I think they didn't dry their lettuce enough when rolling the spring roll because the rice paper wrapped around the spring roll was also soggy and it started falling apart. Maybe my meal would have tasted better dine in but at this point I guess we will never know because there are way too many pho places in San Diego for me to put myself through this again. read more

We opted to get the Nom Pho and the Grilled Pork Spring Rolls. Overall, everything that we had was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience here. The pho broth was nice and flavorful and also came with an interesting lemongrass sauce on the side that elevated the dish. All of the staff here are friendly and welcoming.
