Broth here is good but that's about it. This place is extremely stingy with their portions and sides. For being so overpriced, you would think you would get some kind of value out of your dollar. Their meat is dry and has a spongy texture. The place is small and has no control over their ventilation. Service ability of their works are nonexistent. Workers show zero empathy and often act dumb when raising any concerns. The back of the house also has a very unusual and suspicious practice of collecting dirty plates and eaten pho broth in a bucket. Stay away from this restaurant, it is Not worth it! Edit (4/12/23): as the business owner replies to make an attempt to save face, they conveniently leave out the sarcasm and snarky remarks their staff made during their lack luster response to explaining how they have the audacity to charge for add-ons served in portions of sauce packages. I forgot the steak comes rare so I was a little surprised, but it's ok because it cooks real quick in the very hot broth. I'm not much of a pho person but this one tasted amazing. Great flavor and plenty of meat to munch on! The restaurant is tiny--not much indoor dining (if that were allowed) but it's a perfect takeout joint. I didn't wait that long--order was ready in 10 minutes. The young man at the register was very nice and gave excellent customer service. He was even great at following safety guidelines even with the little things, such as me ripping off my own receipt and making sure to leave my order on the table instead of handing it to me directly. Pho PCH is a small unassuming spot in a strip mall serving up Vietnamese fare. I came in around 5pm on a rainy Saturday. Service was prompt, I was seated at one of the 6 or so tables right away and given a menu. My go-to dish is always lemongrass pork with rice. I ordered that and a hot jasmine tea. I was quickly brought a to-go cup (pictured) with a Stash brand tea bag. They charged $4.95 for it! Felt like for the price they should offer something better and at least not served in a to-go cup for dine in customers. Pork was a strange shredded cut that tasted okay, but not the usual garlic, umami flavor I'm used to. Normally it's a thicker sliced cut. Carrots had a really vegetative, earthy taste - barely pickled. Service was attentive and fast, food was reasonably priced (for the most part), but lacking anything that really made it stand out. Gracie at the front was incredibly rude. Talked on the phone the entire time, then didn't know what we asked for. Was definitely not a language barrier because when we spoke, her English was great. She just showed no interest in being there. When we asked to have our togo order heated up because we decided to eat in the restaurant she wouldn't do it & said "it's already hot" then continued to talk on the phone in Vietnamese. Luckily for us we speak Vietnamese and could understand her talking negatively about us. Eventually after 10min waiting for other order we insisted bc the first order was cold, so she told us we could do it ourselves. We had to go in the back microwave our PHO ourselves. She couldn't be bothered as she continued to talk on the phone negatively about us. Just awful. Today was an irregular Sunday. I blame the time change. I ended the day with a sunset surf session that would have normally occurred at first light. Leaving the beach tired and cold, my body needed something warm to bring it back to center. My mind drifted thru the usual local options and I landed on a frequent favorite "noodle soup". I had ramen only a few nights ago, so that was off the table - I shifted my sights on Pho. Normally, I'd make the trek across town to the golden temple of Asian cuisine that is Gardena, but didn't have enough gas in the tank - mine or the cars. Pho PCH was a roll of the dice that I'd only had takeout from years ago. It's only a few blocks from the house and decided to sit in solo and give it a real try. I'm very glad that I did. Upon first glance, Pho PCH is tucked into a corner with a few other gems, Bollywood Zaika and Grain Cafe - adjacent to the international superstar that is Carls Jr. Expectations were high. I found myself a small table and ordered my usual trifecta of Thai tea, pork eggrolls and a chicken pho. Two things I noticed immediately - the high turnover of takeout orders and the music. The guys and gals in the back were cranking out orders for the food delivery service crowd. Drivers for DoorDash and UberEats coming in one after the next, each pronouncing a name that did not match their face - all to the soundtrack of soft, coffee shop jazz. The food was brought out to me hot and quick. Service from TJ was impeccable, double checking to make sure that I had everything I needed. As I ate there alone, near the point of sale kiosk, TJ made casual conversation with me which was welcomed. We talked like old friends between slurps of soft rice noodle and golden crisp broth. The pho was everything I needed and exceeded expectations. The eggrolls were fried to perfection, with a steamy soft interior. The table sauce selection was exactly as it should be, nothing more, nothing less. I didn't realize that Redondo beach allowed such quality cuisine at such fair pricing. Pho PCH is a gem. Make sure to stop in on a foggy day for hot soup that will fill you up and leave you a happier human. Tip well, they deserve it. read more

I guess for the area this Vietnamese restaurant will do, but I was not impressed. Food: spring rolls are tiiiiiny. Smallest spring rolls I've ever seen. We got the pork and shrimp spring rolls, and the shrimps were the tiny bay shrimp kind and hardly any pork at all. Pho: I had the combo beef pho, and it was ok. The broth was really sweet, and it didn't have the real flavorful bone broth flavor I like, but it wasn't bad. We asked for some cilantro, and we were told there would be a charge for that. I've never heard of charge for cilantro at a Vietnamese restaurant before... especially when they charge 14 dollars for a bowl of pho. Even Chipotle will give you free cilantro if you ask! Service: Although responsive, the service wasn't very friendly or warm. I guess we are still on the hunt for good pho in South Bay... would love to find one close by our house. Makes me sad to leave this review but maybe things will change? Not sure if there has been an ownership or management change recently, our last few times here haven't been great (my husband & I have been coming to and enjoying this place for many years) Our order tonight was all sorts of wrong starting from the call to order. We had this same issue the last few times we called to order. The woman who answered the phone was barely audible, very soft spoken and I had to ask her repeatedly to please speak up, repeat my order etc. She did not take our name, #, etc. Many corrections made and food turned out right until tonight Went to pick up the order my husband places tonight I didn't know what he ordered so when I walked in to pick up I said I had a phone order in mine or my husband's name. No reply, the same woman who answers the phone turned the iPad toward me to show me an order. It looked like what my husband and I typically order but I texted my husband to be sure. He confirmed and I told her yes that was my order. She grabbed a bag from the shelf of to go orders and took it to the back, came out a few minutes later without a sound and handed me my bag. All of that is fine...until I got home to unwrap my food. I ordered the most expensive combo vermicelli and got pork only (no shrimp or eggroll but charged for those things). I let that go and started to eat my dinner and pulled out huge slabs of fat. No exaggeration, there were huge pieces of uncut pork fat and a few small pieces of edible pork. Nobody I could call to share the problem with or try to get a refund from since the only person who seems to answer the phone has a quiet speaking voice when she has to speak and I wouldn't feel confident she could help given the fact that orders are often incorrect. I was so grossed out by the large, un-cut slimy, fatty pork that I will not ever be ordering from them again. Dropped in on a weekday night to find a bunch of people eating pho. It had been years since I ate here last and come to find the restaurant is under new ownership. Change is difficult. I was used to a level of quality in the service and food that just isn't there any more. Before the Thai basil, lime, and jalapeño were served on a plate, now a cold plastic bag. Before the owner would greet you with a smile, now the employees don't have the time of day to be personable. Spring rolls arrive and are really devoid of flavor, taste kind of stale. I remember the spring rolls being really fresh and well proportioned, not anymore. My pho arrives. I ordered the combination. Tripe isn't cut correctly, I find it in large chunks which makes it really chewy. All the beef is chewy, actually, mostly because it isn't sliced thin. The broth tastes alright, but it's nothing to write home about. Pho PCH used to be pretty amazing, now the food is barely edible. I left my bowl almost full, which didn't ever happen with pho, until now. Previous recent reviews seem fake, I don't know how anyone could think this is better than the original. The previous owners were incredibly good people, went to great lengths for their loyal customers. The pho broth was exceptional, spring rolls the best I've ever tasted.
