This is without a doubt one of Austin's best and most authentic pho shops. We spent a few weeks in Vietnam a few years ago and this place has the ambience and the food like it is in Saigon. The pho broth, noodles, meats are top notch. The banh mi is exceptional with hot cripsy bread, smooth pate, laywrs of meats. All the spring rolls and are excellent. I don't think you clearly understand the ADA regarding service animals. A service animal is not a pet. The ADA requires you to modify your "no pets" policy to allow the use of a service animal by a person with a disability. You also did not ask me the two basic questions any business owner would know to ask a person with a service animal. You simply yelled for me to get out and walked away. The best pho broth I found in Austin area so far. I think it's the most basic and fulfilling broth that I would ask for in my casual pho. Nothing very fancy but they have all the meat options that you would want for your pho. The price is reasonable. Aside from pho, I've tried their chicken wings, they are tasty and crunchy. Yet it's not super authentic for "canh ga chien nuoc mam". I wouldn't consider it authentic, although it tastes really good. For dessert, they have "che khuc bach". Must try, if you never had it before. It tastes really good, a bit pricey for dessert but worth it. Great customer services too. The staff is really attentive and caring. Being an avid pho/ramen lover, I'm always on the look out for notable places within the Austin area. When I heard about Pho Phong Luu from my friends and their raving reviews I had to try it. It certainly delivered. Pho Phong Luu has a nice homely mom and pop type feel, with fresh delicious food to boot. One of the most important things about Pho dishes is the broth for sure, and this has to be my favorite part about the place. The broth has a very natural taste that doesn't have leave with that overly saturated feeling. They also serve the pho with good cuts of meat that help evens out the dish. This Vietnamese restaurant exceeded my expectations. It's located a little more south from the Chinatown shopping center off Lamar and I would say is much better than most food options in that center. While their menu had Vietnamese/American appetizers, Vietnamese rice plates and Banh Mi, their Pho was the star on their menu. I haven't found a place here in Austin that made The Vietnamese summer rolls with the Nem Nuong. I would always get that in Houston at the Brodard restaurant. Their Nem Nuong rolls was delicious especially with the fried rice paper that added a nice crunch with every bite. Their pho was very flavorful and no MSG! They only serve one size but the amount of noodles and meat is enough for one hungry person! The service was great and the food came out quickly. Dare I say it?! I will...ABSOLUTELY THE BEST PHO this side of the Mississippi. PERIOD. I had the Shrimp Spring Rolls and Brisket Pho (P02). First, the shrimp ratio in these spring rolls is TOP TIER! Where I'm from in Los Angeles you will get two shrimp cut in half and laid out to make four sad pieces. HERE you get FOUR FULL PLUMP shrimp per roll to masticate thus making for a wonderfully filling appetizer. Secondly, THE PHO!! Ok, the broth is simply amazing. Easily can stand alone but I put a squirt of hoisin and sriracha and dump ALL the condiments they provide (holy basil, jalapeño and bean sprouts...honestly you are missing out if you don't) and gave it a nice stir. The portion of brisket was unbelievable. More than enough for me to have a bite through the entire bowl. The bowl is very gracious you will leave satisfied! Service was impeccable. I was asked through my meal if there was anything I needed and they were busy. When I was done they asked did I enjoy my meal (I left NOTHING on any plate so they knew I loved it) to which I replied everything was absolutely delicious. They asked was it my first time and to please tell my friends; unbeknownst to them, I was already texting everyone I knew. A long overdue and easy 5 stars for the best pho I've had in Austin. I once lived near Little Saigon in San Jose, and this rivals any pho I've had there for sure. The portions are nice and filling, but the divine taste of the pho broth is on another level, like it descended from the heavens. I don't typically drink and finish the broth at other pho places; it's just not good enough at many places for me to do so. I will drink and finish it here every time though. My favorite pho place!! Not only is the service super quick, the pho here is some of the best pho I've ever had. The broth isn't too salty and isn't oily like some other pho I've eaten. (They also don't use msg.) And usually I like to add sriracha or hoisin to my pho, but I couldn't bring myself to taint the soup. I could just drink it plain by the bucketful. The serving size is also very generous. The bowls are relatively large and come with a good amount of meat. Best pho in Austin and I don't think it's remotely even close. The broth here is everything you want in a good, warm, clean bowl of pho. Not too salty, deeply savory, a little fatty, and clean tasting. They also have a pick 3 meat pho where you can create to your heart's content, which I don't know if I've actually seen at other places. I really like fatty brisket and you can just get that if you want, but other great options are flank and the meatballs. The meatballs here have perfect bounce too. Add some bean sprouts and thai basil and you're good to go. You'll find everything so flavorful, you won't even need to reach for the hoisin or sriracha. I will say if you're a hungry eater, get the large or some appetizers as I did feel a little hungry mid afternoon after lunch. Service here is also amazing as they will remember your order and make sure you feel you're at home. At $11.50 a bowl, the pho prices are a few dollars higher than I am used to but it was high quality broth and the portions were big. You know they do their broth well when it doesn't even need any hoisin sauce added. This is the first place I have been to where they ask if you prefer your bean sprouts raw or steamed - having them steamed was a great treat! We also tried their taro wontons - they were small but the taro filling was spot on. I just wish it came with fish sauce instead of the sweet chili sauce but I know that is just personal preference. Since they've moved to their new location, I have visited here almost every week as their pho is some of the best I've ever had. It's a bit on the pricey side for pho (~$13/14) but that hasn't stopped me from coming back since it's one of the few pho places that has a flavorful broth that's not too salty. You might be tempted to add the fatty oil but honestly, you don't need to. The fatty oil does add an extra jolt of flavor to the broth so if you're curious, I suggest asking for it on the side since a little goes a long way. read more

It was much more crowded on Sunday than previous visits but the wait was only 20 minutes. Glad to see this place is getting the recognition it deserves. This is by far one of the best classic Vietnamese restaurants in Austin. External: this is not located in a safe neighborhood. I want to make it clear I highly recommend going in the daytime or with a friend. Internal: basic Vietnamese restaurant, simply decorated , humble. And Frankly all it needs. So, I went on a search for the best Bahn Mi sandwich. And let me tell you, the Vietnamese special sandwhich much with a fried egg is amazing. The right bread, the right use of butter and pate, the right seasoning, and the right balance of vegetables. Many places overdo the vegetables or fish sauce, this places sandwiches is perfect. Also the best fried Vietnamese egg rolls and that stay good after hours due to how they are packed. Pho: the pho is made from a delicate brother richer than I have tasted before. In addition the meat and meatballs are authentic and made on site. You can tell just how they pack it. I highly recommend them for any. vietnamese dinner. And the prices are more than reasonable.
