Love the S5 Bangkok seafood soup!!! The basil is amazing. This is the BEST place to go on a chilly day! The food is excellent and you get the added benefit of clearing your sinuses! . This place is a disgrace to my ethnicity. It's not even run by Vietnamese people! What the Du?! I walked in and it was. Completely. Empty. Should've taken it as a sign. Well, there were 2 tables occupied but turns out, they were workers. I initially thought they were customers, that's why I wasn't greeted. Well, you suck at customer service! I was excited for the egg rolls, based off pictures on yelp! When I came in, it smelled like pho, so I'm like, okay...Maybe it'll be good. Ordered egg rolls and the pho bo hue. OH MA GAWD the egg rolls were rock solid. Like, old and reheated. And certainly dry...so it leads me to think it's old. The sad excuse for pho was SO gross. Bruh. I'm Vietnamese. I know my dishes and I know what I like. SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT! It was bland, had a kick, and a hint of pho, but no flavor and DEFINITELY not no hue flavor. There were 4 pieces of PRECOOKED rare beef, which was also dry and tough. Again, I make pho and I know how it tastes when it's cooked certain ways. Oh my goodness! We have been eating here for years and have always enjoyed the food. Tonight I called for a to go order and I we added two bohn me sandwiches which are very good I asked if they could add a little extra veggies ie. the cilantro and the pickled carrots to the sandwiches I was told that it would be two dollars for the cilantro and carrots. Yeah two dollars for two cilantro leaves and a couple of shreds of carrot as they put very little on their bohn me. I will miss eating there. If they said fifty cents or a dollar even I would have probably just said sure but two dollars for maybe a nickels worth of ingredients. Pretty good little Vietnamese fast food restaurant. The pho's are pretty good. The price is very good too! Don't get me wrong, even though it is fast, the food are hot and fresh. The owner and the staff are very friendly. If you are the first time here, I suggest you to try the combination pho, where you can try a bit of everything. If you need to be a little more filling, get the BBQ + rice combo. Of course, the sandwiches are great too (forget about the Subway sandwich! You will never go back!). I ordered vegetarian pho and tofu spring rolls to go. Get it home and there were unknown particles floating around and at the bottom of the broth, which smelled like rubber. After smelling the broth I had absolutely no desire to eat it, in addition to not knowing what was floating around in it. The flimsy spring rolls also had browned shredded iceberg lettuce clearly seen thru the rice paper. I came close to closing hours and I was still made very welcome and given time to even order more after my bowl of pho. My taste are simple. I enjoyed the combination pho regular bowl. I was shown the large bowl which could have fed two of me (I don't like to stuff myself silly). I thought the broth was simple but flavorful, and NOT too salty. Side veggies were good for my bowl of noodles. After I was done, I had to try the tofu spring rolls (okay, so I stuffed myself a little bit, but, well worth it). Normally I love their food but I have to post an honest review from last night. Granted, I visit one of their Richardson locations often. I ordered a bowl of chicken noodle soup. The chicken was actually lunch meat cut up in symmetrical slices. Definitely not what the picture depicts on the menu. If they were out of actual chicken, I should have been notified and I would have ordered something else. Also, I witnessed a table receiving their drinks and place their orders before I was given a water. On top of that, the same person decided to cash out another party before taking my order. I varied between a 4 and a 5 star review on this. I chose a 5 star review to offset the crazed pho (ramen gets this beat down as well) reviewers that shred 99% of pho (and ramen) places because they are God's gift to pho (and ramen). Pho Que Huong is a solid small / bit of a hole in the wall feel restaurant where the food and service are decent and it fills a pho need you're not going to take care of anywhere else close by. I do a variety of their pho/soup bowls and enjoy most of them. They have three sizes, a normal, large, and one that I call a mega bowl (though its not listed on the menu and it's not really called that). The "mega" bowl is just a ginormous bowl of Pho that's going to leave you satiated... and likely dehydrated once that level of sodium enters your body (pro tip: drink a bunch of water before bed if you have that for dinner). The rest of the dishes are quite good. The service is average, but friendly... and the restaurant is clean, though I don't think I'd eat off the floor (not would I at any home in the wall place with good food). Later nights after work, when you're feeling a bit sad and want to eat your feelings, or when you just don't have time to make a meal and it's easier to pop in and grab a few bowls to go... this is my fall back for such occasions. Also nice in the winter when it's a bit cold and you don't want to eat anything too creamy or decadent, a lighter pho fits the bill nicely. Anyways, this is a fun place for a meal - but know it's a smaller hole in the wall atmosphere vs prom or anniversary dinners. I'd ignore the critics, the food is certainly good for the price and honest reviews would give it at least a 3 if not 4 stars. read more

I LOVE Vietnamese food, so that's why I go back.... but the drive down to the legacy location is what I'll be doing.. again My problem with this place is the portions are terrible. I can literally count the little 8 pieces of thinly sliced chicken or beef I get in my to go pho. I also recently just discovered they are charging me a whole dollar for the bag of pho veggies with the hoisin and mung beans. I don't like establishments that are greedy. The waitress is really sweet, but greedy, stingy owners leave me with a bad taste in my mouth. The peanut sauce is super bland and watery. You always have to add something to it. This restaurant is part of a chain so it lacks the warmth of a family run place like Pho Crystal, but they are open on Sunday. We started with the shrimp spring rolls. They were cold, like they'd just been removed from the fridge and were a bit chewy. They also contained something similar to french-fried onion which seemed a bit odd. The pho was good. Not great but good. The broth isn't as aromatic as I'd like. The tendon in mine was a bit rubbery, but it did have good flavor and I would get it again. They offer flan for dessert, which is about as out of place as the french-fried onion, but it turned out to be a nice way to finish off a spicy dinner, so it's definitely recommended if you like your food hot. 3 stars read more

Hole in the wall that's more like Hope in the wall for the Pho lover looking for your favorite bowl in the Mckinney allen area. It might tucked off to the side right off the freeway and el dorado, but it's worth parking and feeding your craving! They have a spacious eating area inside and nice tables and TVs on just like the other pho que houngs. I will say this, it's better than the one in Frisco if your looking for a good ambience while you eat your bowl. The broth is good here and meat is done right here as well. The eggrolls are fried to order which is a plus compared to the other spots. Only draw back is the server doesn't speak Vietnamese which doesn't help when it comes to explaining the menu.
