So this is hard since it's my first time ever having Pho. I know, how do I live in LA and never had Pho before??? Well, I finally got to try it and it didn't disappointment me. I really wanted to give this place 5 stars, but I can't because I have no other Pho to compare it to. I ordered the #17 and the egg rolls. It's beef brother with "rare" beef. Well it's not really rare since the broth is so hot that it cooks the beef completely. It came with bean sprouts and basil on the side. So you don't have to add it if you don't want to. I listened to my friends and added a ton of lime, some of their oyster sauce, and sriracha. In my opinion, you need to add these things to give it flavor. Because it really doesn't have much flavor at all if left plain. The beef was tender, the noodles were soft. Overall, it was good. And the service is extremely fast. I also ordered the milk tea boba and that was good too. Parking was easy shopping center parking. read more

I was very pleased with my experience here. As a first timer and here with a party of 10, I appreciate them being accommodating and taking a reservation. Spring rolls were tasty, but the peanut sauce was too watery and had a light flavor. The egg rolls were enjoyable. As for why we came here, they Pho...it was very tasty! I loved the broth flavor. Meat was perfect too. I ordered it with Udon noodles and although good, I didn't like how they stuck together, even after being in the soup for some time. Service was good and food brought out fast. Absolutely delicious Vietnamese style soups. Came in this morning for a pick me upper post Covid and boy did it work wonders. The broth was so aromatic I could literally taste the spices and the star of the show was the anise. It was truly a soothing mecinal good for the soul soup. Enjoyed every sip. Noodles were not over cooked and steak was rare just like I like it! Add some jalapeños and lime and of course the shriracha and boom super combination! Okay so this place is actually very good BUT TODAY I told the younger man in the front with glasses that I wanted spring rolls with no pork and chili sauce, I specified chili sauce 3 times and he came back and gave me chill sauce packets. I went back and asked for the chill sauce on the table , and he said I already put it in there and I asked again if it's the same one as the one on the table and he said yes.. IT WAS NOT! So, My family and I have eaten here a few times in the past. Since Covid. Our experiences here have always been neutral. The food tasty, service acceptable. Last night, we innocently walked up/into this business with the intention of having another great meal here. (Our mistake was not checking the hours of this business until after we had already been allowed to enter, have a seat, and order. The place was pretty empty, with the exception of another family on the side we had sat on, and a couple hidden to the right side of the restaurant. As we sat and looked over the menu, a large group of people had came in hoping to enjoy a meal, and my partner pointed out to me they had been turned away. I looked at the time, it was 8:45 pm, then looked up the business hours seeing that they closed at 9 pm. Oh sh**t, I thought. Well, cool of them to let us in, right??? Wrong. We ordered our food/drinks soon after we sat down. Our food of course was brought to us within 2-3 mins? It is now 8:50 Pm probably. I tell my children to hurry and eat their food as the place will be closing soon. As soon as the couple to the right of us, get up to pay and leave. The lights to the right of us were turned off. We're eating, all the while I'm being mindful of the time, and how these people/workers want to go home soon. Once the family that was eating behind us gets up to pay and leave, right away workers are rushing to clean up around them, around us, etc..the Room getting seemingly darker, and the vibe more awkward. Apparently the employees were just watching us eat our meal as we were the only ones in the restaurant besides them at this point.. By now, I'm feeling forced to just ask for to go containers so we can take our food and leave. Signing the check felt chaotic, whilst also trying to pack up our food and go.. It honestly felt like they were going to pick up our plates from underneath us without letting us know they were closing. The passive aggressiveness in there was too much. Very rude. Very ridiculous of them to allow us to enter as a family and sit down for a meal we would not be allowed to fully enjoy. I spent $75 on 2 bowls of Pho, 1 rice plate, and 3 drinks. I feel robbed of my money and a good dinner experience. I wouldn't return to eat here even if I was starving. Overpriced. Unwelcoming. Undeserving of your hard earned money. And I know, we arrived close to closing time. Again, we were unaware, and I would have preferred them not let us in and turn us away instead of what we dealt with. My favorite pho spot right now. I like this location because the space is large, parking is plentiful with wide enough spaces. Service is always very prompt and nice. I like their broth, but I'm not a pho expert. I just don't like it when it's too sweet or overly clove-y. The portions are okay, I think for two people you can split extra noodles. So here I came to Pho So 1 for the first time. I got the tai chin nam, which is basically rare steak and well done flank with rice noodles. This is my first time actually having pho or Vietnamese food of any kind. The pho wasn't bad but it was kind of bland so I tried the condiments to give it a bit of a kick. The staff seems a little aloof aside from the cashier. They also forgot my lemonade as they only gave me water. Not sure if I may come back but I'm giving three stars as they did at least correctly make my pho and the place is a bit on the quiet side. The only thing good here is the soup. That's it. If you asked me in August 2020, I would have given this place 4 stars, barely, for Lunch. But for some reason now, coming at Dinner time on October 2020, the quality of their food has gone downhill dramatically. First of all, they're sad excuse for a spring roll is basically 90% lettuce, with three SLICES of shrimp on top. They don't even give you full shrimp! They take the shrimp and cut it in half, so basically you're only getting one and a half shrimp per spring roll. Where's the carrots, where's the stuff that usually goes in a spring roll? Instead, you get a bunch of romaine lettuce green leafy parts at the very end, that nobody usually eats anyway. And don't even get me started on # 50, which is described as "stir-fried beef with lemongrass, rice vermicelli and vegetables." False advertising! Instead, I ordered number 50 from the menu, and got 80% sliced chicken, and 20% sliced beef. The vegetables were okay. The Taste was very sweet, like too sweet, but had NO lemongrass flavor whatsoever. I think that's misleading, and I'm not afraid to say so. Whoever is reading this from their ownership or management team should take note! I'm sorry, I'm going to have to take my business somewhere else for good. read more

I really like this place, even when they are almost about to close, they are very nice and still will put in an order for me in the very last 10 min of them closing the restaurant. I'm not saying that they like doing this all the time, but their customer service are better than many Vietnamese places I've been. It is my go to soup when I'm feeling under the weather. I tend to only stick with the clear pho broth, but this time I ordered the beef stew pho and it was very yummy and flavorful! Very much like a beef noodle soup. We ordered takeout that included a Bun dish, Chicken Pho and Shrimp Fried Rice. Wow. The Bun with Egg Rolls had the driest beef that almost felt it had been frozen, stale or they used some sort of dry jerky. The Egg Rolls made you question the point of our exddIt was inedible. I'm a huge fan of fish sauce but even that was flavorless, watered down and couldn't salvage the terrible dish. The Pho had chicken that was questionable, indiscernible as white or dark meat and was also just not consumable at all. Fried rice is fairly straightforward to make but this one was just not tasty at all. The Shrimp Fried Rice we order was very sparse on Shrimp, lacked flavor and overall left us feeling frustrated to know we spent hard earned money on very mediocre food. Food is amazing, there are a huge selection of Pho, we all order different ones but all get the beef broth, it's rich and flavorful. The BBQ pork is a must. The Bun dishes are great as well. Only wish there was a vegetable broth available for vegetarian friends so we could bring them with us. Service is fast & efficient, there's rarely a wait for the food, but there might be a wait for a table on busy weekends and evenings. One of my go to spot for Pho in West Valley! Good authentic and delicious Vietnamese food, quick service and great location (inside Fallbrook mall). I recall the place being so nice and clean pre-covid19 but it has gotten so dingy and the tables and front area can used some sanitizing. Finding good Vietnamese food in a predominantly not Asian area is rare. But this place!! Their mi bo kho (beef stew with egg noodle) was so good. Huge serving and it came with a ton of beef. The egg rolls had an interesting crunchy texture different from what I'm used to, wasn't the biggest fan of that but it still was yum.
