This is a quaint little restaurant that may be considered great for San Antonio, but would not survive in Houston. The decor is simple and the place is fairly clean. They may be short of staff but service is friendly and homey. I had the spring roll with shrimp and pork. Taste was average. The roll could've been rolled tighter, but it was loose giving the impression that it was bigger. Ingredients were fresh. Sauce was average. I had a bowl of combo beef pho. Usually in the Houston pho place, you'll have a long list of different meats and combo. This menu is simplified. So I went with the combo of various cuts including meatballs. The broth was flavored but not rich. Lacking umami. My guess is that broth is from powder. On the plus side, it's not greasy and they put plenty of meat. I would say this is good for this city. Let me start by saying I've been to a bunch of different pho spots in San Antonio, with this one being mine(and my girlfriend's) favorite. There's something so homey about this place and if you are ever having any sort of sickness whatsoever, pop by get a Pho Tai and whatever ails you will be gone before the bowl is finished. You can really tell the owner and everyone else who works here cares so much because of how welcoming they are through and through. I would absolutely recommend the A1. The Vietnamese style egg roll. I'm visiting from Houston and decided to yelp for a place to have dinner with my family. Upon reading the reviews and ratings, I decided to give Pho Sure a try. And can I say, they DID NOT DISAPPOINT. They're pho broth was sooo clear (which takes a slow and very time consuming cooking process to get that) and not salty. You can tell that they do not use MSG. Their entree dishes were very decent sizes. Some might say their prices are higher than usual, but with the rise in price in everything else.. I wouldn't doubt otherwise. I'd pay again for a happy stomach. If only I could give more stars for their customer services. As soon we walked in, my family and I were greeted instantly by the lovely couple and also a kid who worked in the front. Who we later find out is actually the son to the couple. Looove seeing family owned businesses work together. And kudos to the son! They were very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Atmosphere was awesome, they made sure you felt welcomed. I personally liked that they didn't have music playing in their restaurant. A few years ago, my husband and I stumbled upon a pho restaurant across the street from San Pedro Park. We savored the deliciousness of the broth and the rest of our meal before we headed downtown to see a show. We thought, this is so good we need to come back. We didn't know it, yet we would be the last customers at their San Pedro location since that was their last night to operate. We accepted the news reluctantly and decided to focus on the fact that we had an awesome meal. Fast forward to present, and Pho Sure is now even closer to me in the Medical Center area. The flavorful broth is still delicious as ever, and several of my friends and coworkers agree. As for the Banh Mi, if you're used to having that soft, inviting bread, Pho Sure is using the same type of rolls I'm used to eating in Chinatown in Houston. I've been to Pho Sure several times at its former location downtown and always enjoyed my pho. The new, recently opened location looks nice: wooden tables and chairs with that faux wooden roof on one end of the room. Paper lanterns are also hanging on the ceiling. What sets Pho Sure apart from its competitors is its off-menu, limited specials (something I've never experienced at a Vietnamese restaurant and these are dishes that one can't find anywhere else in town). I had the Canh Bun, a spicy crabcake meatball soup. The broth was flavorful, the noodles had a not too hard, not too soft consistency, and the crabcake meatballs were awesome. My husband and I visited this new location (the old Caparellis) tonight with our daughter and we loved the healthy food. The chicken pho came with a very generous amount of basil and had just the right amount of noodles, chicken & broth. The rangoons were unexpectedly soft (and were so good!), similar to what you might imagine an undercooked buñuelo to look like. The taste of them were great & we will definitely order these again! Can't wait to visit again. You can hear the music from next door a bit, but it's not a big deal. What really wow-ed me was the customer service and cute interior! I think this is a family run business and they are so nice! The guy greeted us like we were old friends and even offered to make a tendon pho if we wanted it. Service was fast and the food was really good! I am pretty picky with my pho as I grew up eating it and I was pretty impressed with pho sure. You definitely get the taste of the spices and slow cooked broth at pho sure! I asked for extra meat as well which is a upcharge/add on but worth it for me. I also like my soup with a little scallion oil (nuoc beo is what it's called) to add a bit more flavor.
