My mom grew up in Hanoi, so I decided to take her here to try Northern style Pho here in OC. She loved it as you can see she finished the entire bowl in just 15 mins HAHA To me, the broth is like the soul and heart of Pho. The broth was light but super beefy, not as sweet like Southern style and especially no MSG(surprisingly). The meat looks absolutely delicious, it was a tons of meats ngl. Service was a good 9/10 they were friendly, sweet and welcoming. Everything was great until the banh quay came out, a big no to us, it was no where close to the Northern quay. The pho was delicious, but the waiter who brought the pho had a very bad attitude. They made a mistake with the food I ordered, but they didn't apologize. My favorite pho . Thick fresh noodles . I either get minced meat or the marinated meat with a side of tendon. Or two or three sides of tendon. Ask for extra pickled garlics sides and put some fish sauce in there for a great dipping and topping on each spoonful of goodness. They give such a hefty amount as well. The food is great and the soup is very delicious as well. But the one thing that is missing is that they don't have small rice noodles and they didn't have sate chili yet. This is understandable because they are a new business, but I hope they would add small rice noodles as a 2nd option instead of big rice noodles all the time. Overall, the business is good. Simply said the worst pho of all the worst pho's you can find in OC. The large bowl is the tiniest bowl ever, seems like for 5 yr old kid. The meats are like wooden chips. The soup tastes just like water. and too much scallions. Oh, the best part is super pricey for what it is. ...Whats up with all the hype and all the 4-5 star ratings, it's the fk joke?! for me it's half a star for effort. I've never had this style of pho before but thought it was more complex and flavorful than what I'm used to. I really loved all the green onions and stir-fried beef which added a lot of richness without having it be too oily. The packaging and branding is really on point. The Pandan mung bean milk is really delicious. It is the best I've tried, and it's not too sweet. I really like that they sauté the beef in garlic before transferring it to the broth. This adds extra flavor to the soup. The soup broth was on the sweeter side, I believe that this is traditional and authentic to northern pho. I love that they have the Chinese donut for you to dip into the broth. This is my favorite! The pho bowl is smaller in comparison to other establishments in the area. The price of one pho bowl is also more expensive than average as well. They still have a grand opening sign, but the restaurant is not very clean for a new restaurant. The table is dirty and sticky, and the white chairs are also stained. The parking lot isn't the best, there isn't much parking. We waited about 30 minutes for a table. Overall, the pho was great, and I would definitely come back.
