I am VERY dissapointed with this Tuan Canh restaurant who is bragging out-of-line. The service is bad. They acted as if they do NOT care about customers : unfriendly conversation, too long waiting, indifferent answers etc... Beside this, the price and the quality of food are "horrible". I ordered a side dish of chicken liver/heart and I felt very sorry about this. They smelled so bad as if they have been spoiled for 2/3 weeks or so. Terribly enough, the price was $13.00 alone (!!!) . I ate 1 small piece and did not touch it again. First I thought I would bring it home for my dogs but I changed my mind because I am afraid that my dogs may get sicks eating it. If anyone does not believe me, please just try for one. read more

Heard this place was one of the top places in OC for chicken pho so decided to give it a try. Upon entering all you smell is strong chicken and herb flavors. I was the only one in the restaurant which was surprising since this is such a popular spot. I got the large chicken thigh mien soup and it was simply amazing. I like that they separate the chicken and the noodle soup so the chicken doesn't overcook or lose flavor. Soup was extremely aromatic and strong chicken bone flavor, something I can eat every day. Inside the noodle soup were toasted shallots, bamboo shoots, herbs, 1 piece of pork blood, and plenty of vermicelli noodles. I was not able to finish the noodles because the portion size is really generous. They provide boiled bean sprouts and basil as garnishes. The chicken was cooked perfectly, it was juicy, flavorful, and still had a little bit of chew for texture. The dipping sauce along with chili paste pairs really well for the chicken. Service was very friendly even though the staff didn't really speak English. The only complaint I had was the spoons were really dirty, but a quick wipe and it was fine. Definitely deserve a 5-star review and further visits! read more

Best Pho Ga aka Chicken Pho in Little Saigon, hands down! Closes at 3 PM every day so limited hours, but worth it if you can make it. As an OC native, it's been hard to see the pho broth get more and more diluted and flavorless at other spots, so I was thrilled that the broth here is savory, flavorful, and fresh tasting even with just broth and noodle. However, always got to add the lime and some herbs too! The broth is simple but deep of favor - not heavy on saltiness or fish sauce (you can add into to your liking) as you go. I got the special combination and it was great. The place only open from 8-3pm daily except Wednesday. They do have rice and udon on top of noodle. The place is small and clean. The owner(s) can be nice or sassy depending on the day, but most of the time she's friendly. The thing I like about this place is that they heavily use cilantros on the broth for natural sweetness and no msg so after you ate, you don't feel heavy or blowed - just my opinion. read more

Even though the place was empty, the staff interrupted me while I was drinking and made me leave. Just ate there yesterday with my wife. Ordered half a chicken and 2 bowls of Pho. Food came out very fast despite them being short staffed. Chicken was good. Lots of chicken for the price. Fresh chicken so no complaint there. Pho was good also. Broth was sweet and tasted very good. I assumed the broth was sweet because they probably made it with chicken stock or from the chicken bone. Total price was only $35 and we also ordered an orange juice and a bottled water. Tip you have to pay in cash. The real issue came 15 minutes after we left the restaurant. That was when my wife and I got with an "MSG bot ngot attack!" There was so much MSG in the food. Our entire neck was numb! After getting home we both knocked out immediately! If you like MSG then this is your spot. But if you're not used to eating MSG like we are, then avoid this restaurant! read more

I'm from Hà Nội and was craving northern style Pho Ga. This place is probably one of the best for that I've tried in SoCal so far. I'm happy they served it with wide pho noodles, and not the thin bun noodles a lot of pho places in SoCal seem to do. The chicken came on the side which took me by surprise but it was very juicy, and the broth was quite flavourful. I would say the bun cha Hà Nội they had on the menu didn't taste like the Hà Nội version, the dipping broth was different to what you would get in Vietnam. I wouldn't come back for that. read more

I like pho ga, but I also really like chicken with ginger sauce. I like the clean and light broth of pho ga and i enjoy hainan chicken and I get best of both worlds here. I've had my share of having each on its own at various restaurants and home cooked, also places that serve this exact dish. Pho Tuan Canh Canh is at the top of my list. The broth is just how I like it, comes out very hot. Chicken is ordered separately and so we ordered the half order, more than enough for two people. Plentiful herbs and vegetables, with blanched bean sprouts. Yes! The only fault was the chicken isn't hot, it almost felt room temperature. Unfortunately, that's where I knock off one star. The ginger sauce is evenly balanced with dish sauce and when chili is added, it's makes for the most delicious dipping sauce. Keep a few chicken pieces in the broth to stay warm, if eating hot food matters to you. Dip, slurp, repeat. Can't wait to come back. read more

Bad service. I came here with my parents and the waitress asked us what to order. My mom love to eat "Gà Đùi" (chicken thighs) so I ordered 3 Phở Gà Đùi. The lady saided "No more Đùi". At first I couldn't hear her cause she responded in 3 words with a small voice and not even look at me to say. I asked her again and her face changed the expression , seem like she wasting time taking my order If I wasn't going with my parents, I'll stand up and leave the restaurant right away. Best pho ga (chicken pho) in town! I swear my dad frequents this place at least once a week, so this review is more for him than me, but of course I do think this place has really good food too. The chicken is fresh, they have a vendor that sells to them within the county. The broth is flavorful and the noodles are thicker than most pho places these days. Service is really quick, their goal is to get you in and out ASAP which is expected at most Viet mom and pop shops. I honestly love that and don't expect anything short of that service. They're only open for a few hours during the day and close once a week so be sure to check before you come. read more
