Hot Stone Pho was our caterer for our wedding last week and we are already missing the incredible menu they had prepared for us! From the chicken to the salmon to our gorgeously plated fresh fruit salads, everything tasted amazing and looked fantastic. All of our guests complimented the food and her teams' attention to detail for those who had dietary restrictions. All our food was served family style and our family and friends enjoyed the camaraderie of passing plates around and having fun! We had a few vegan and vegetarian meals for our guests and they raved about how great those were too. Our package included house-made beverages including Thai iced tea and dragonfruit lemonade which were also hits! Our wedding was at a community center that had quite a few rules to follow and Hot Stone Pho's team was very compliant and forthcoming with getting all the paperwork ready. This was easily one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time. Everything from the thoughtful service to the high-quality ingredients was top-tier. The star of the show is the Hot Stone Pho. The broth comes out boiling in a stone bowl, which is essential for cooking the meats to your liking. * The Rib Bone: It comes with a massive, tender rib bone that adds so much richness to the soup. * Premium Cuts: The quality of the ribeye and brisket is apparent immediately. The meat is fresh, perfectly sliced, and has the kind of marbling you usually only see at high-end spots. Dipping those cuts into the piping hot broth is a game changer. * The Starters: You have to try the garlic wings and egg rolls. The wings are crispy and packed with flavor. We also had the shrimp spring rolls, which were fresh, oversized, and came with a delicious peanut dipping sauce. Their drink game is very strong. They use real fruit instead of artificial syrups. For example, the dragon fruit lemonade uses actual dried dragon fruit, giving it a natural, crisp sweetness that is incredibly refreshing. The service was truly the highlight. My family was intrigued to try this place because we like our pho piping hot. We've been back a few times which just proves that we approve. We are usually seated immediately and service is great, even the time I went with my extended family when we were a larger party. It's pretty spacious inside and was decorated for the holidays! I tried their Hot Stone Special pho the first time I came here because it was what they are known for, and it felt like a must. I loved that it stayed very hot for the entire meal. Most of the meats were delicious and the ribeye was my favorite, but the brisket was on the dry side and was even thick and hard. I ended up just getting the ribeye pho in a normal bowl the next times that I came since it was my favorite, and it was still really hot and delicious! For their appetizers, I thought the spicy wontons were just okay, and the calamari had too much breading. I would probably skip out on them. I haven't gotten to try their seafood boil or their bò né, but those are definitely on my list of things to try. I always get their green thai tea to pair perfectly with my pho! read more

I like the concept for pho to be served on a scolding hot stone for raw meat to cook and pho to stay warm while eating. It looks like they used the korean hot stone called dolsot. The ingerdients when i went did not seem fresh and was slightly disappointment but it still was filling since the portion for one person was enough. I didnt even get to finish. Stopped by Hot Stone Pho on a Monday afternoon -- it was fairly busy but we were seated right away. The location itself isn't much to look at (kind of an older shopping center), but the inside was clean and nicely decorated. I ordered the oxtail hot stone pho -- delicious and so hot! Loved that the broth stayed piping the entire meal. The oxtail was tender with plenty of meat, and the broth was flavorful without being heavy on the star anise like some other spots (which I actually prefer). Pro tip: you can ask for more broth and noodles at no extra charge! My husband got the combo pho and absolutely loved it, especially the broth. We also tried the calamari appetizer -- wouldn't recommend, it was just okay and not really worth it. Overall, really good pho and fun experience eating it from the hot stone bowl -- it definitely made the flavor stand out more. I just wish they offered banh mi too! Had a great lunch here with delicious and memorable dishes! We had the hot stone special, short rib, and oxtail - all bomb but the oxtail has a special place in my heart. Super fall apart meat, fatty, and tender. The presentation is fun and makes sharing easy, and I like that you can customize your own mini bowl. I really liked: Hot stone short ribs I liked: Vietnamese coffee I think the way you're supposed to eat this is by dipping the meat into the hotpot and then transferring the soup and meat into the bowl with the noodles. I just dumped the noodles into the hotpot and the flavors were too hot go taste at first. After it cooled down, you can tell the brother has excellent flavor. For a place named "Hot Stone Pho" you would think that their pho must be their best dish, right? And while it's certainly good, the salmon noodles completely stole the show. It was like "beef chow fun" meets "popcorn salmon" and it was as good as it sounds -- perfectly sweet and savory, chewy and crispy. I did not expect it to be that good when we ordered it and I still think about this dish all the time. You have the option to order just a regular bowl of Pho or the hot stone and I HIGHLY recommend opting in the hot stone as you will get the full experience of how it cooks right in front of you. We came here for the Hot Stone Pho and although it's instagram worthy, it's not the best bowl to use at the end of the day. The soup remains TOO hot to enjoy and slightly over cook the meat. It was definitely Hot Stone Pho, because the soup was still boiling hot by the time I finished! Fair price, about $18-20 per bowl but you get SO MUCH so it makes it so worth it! First, you get to choose thick (fresh) or thin noodles. I highly recommend the thick/fresh noodles!! The Hot Stone Pho oxtail/short ribs also come with sides of rib eye served raw so you can dip it in the broth and eat it however you want. The short rib was a bit hard to eat along with the pho, but I really liked the oxtail and rib eye meat. I ordered the hot stone pho special ($18.95) and the hot stone oxtail pho ($20.95). Both of the pho was excellent and I love that the meat is on the side so you can have it cooked just how you want it. The shaken beef nui ($15.50) tasted amazing. I enjoyed the tenderness of the meat and the texture of the nui (pasta) was just perfect! The bo ne(sizzling plate) was delicious as well. The sauce with the steak, eggs, pate, etc was simply delicious. The prawn noodle ($15.50) reminded me of Alfredo sauce and I love the variety of food they have here. The shrimps were nice and plump and paired with the noodles was a delicious bite! As for drinks, we got the thai tea ($5.50) and cafe sua da (Vietnamese iced coffee). HSP it's probably my number one for pho that I have experienced in OC so far. The stone bowls do seem a bit gimmicky, but the broth was spectacular. The hot bowl reminds me of the Chinese crossing the bridge noodles since they serve you a tray of meat alongside your hot stone bowl. To be honest if you're looking for a scorching bowl of pho this is it, it's so hot it turns your throat going down and stays simmering in your stomach. Kinda feels like drinking boiling water. After it cools about 15 minutes in you'll realize it's a bowl of pho, not particularly anything special besides its presentation. For its price point there are definitely better pho places in the area. The service was ok (they are new so they do need reminders for utensils veggies and such) and I will say a plus is that it's quite a large location and new so it's clean and airy a not crowded or dirty. Waiter/Waitress was a lil awkward, but friendly to say the least. Had to grab their attention a couple of times or else you're gonna be waiting for a while. To start with drinks, my partner and I ordered fresh young coconut and passion fruit. Can't go wrong with coconut so no complaints. Passion Fruit was fresh and tasted really good. For entrees, ordered the Hot Stone Short Rib Pho (ofc why wouldn't we order this at a restaurant literally named Hot Stone Pho lol). It came out pippin' hawt. They even inform customers on the menu stating, "The Hot Stone Pho are extremely hot, do not touch the stone bowl" and "Due to safety reason: hot stone pho are not recommended with table with kids". We must be kids because intrusive thoughts got the best of me. I touched it and can confirm it was indeed hot. They give you noodles, the meat you ordered, basil, lime, and jalapeños on the side. Quickly add your items before it gets cold. That's the best time to cook your meat. Broth was delicious even before adding sriracha and hoisin. Next, Seafood Platter was on the way. I chose the snow crab + cajun seafood platter in a small size ($76) which consisted of 2lbs crawfish, 1/2lb shrimp, 1/2lb clams, 1/2lb mussel, 1lb snow crab, 2pcs of corn and 1pc potato. I ordered an add on of sausage ($4.95/8pcs) since it didn't come included *insert sad face*. You also get the option to choose the flavor and spice level to which I picked Garlic Butter and spice level Spicy. Lemme tell you... that ish was NOT small LOL. But I was ready to dive in. It was alright. Ain't no Boiling Crab, but it's fine. Just surprised how they managed to still cook it good with flavor even while serving other items. Personally, I wouldn't come back. Hot stone pho is just pho in a hot stone bowl. If you prefer your food to be hot the entire time, this is for you. The meat quality is incredible but the broth and noodles are not as good. You definitely get your money's worth just from the meat quality and preparation. But noodles were overcooked and soup not as flavorful. I do not recommend getting the appetizers, we ordered both the calamari and spicy wontons. The calamari was your run of the mill prepared ones you fry. It didn't really taste like anything other than the fried coating on it. The spicy wontons were extremely sad...
