    Bubble Waffle

My first time at the Temple City Phoenix Kitchen location after the San Gabriel one closed, and I was so happy with the experience. Ping was an amazing server, so kind, welcoming, attentive, and full of great recommendations. We ordered the minced chicken with seaweed and fried egg, Thai flavor seafood soup, noodle soup with pork, beef king pao, and sticky rice, and everything was absolutely delicious. The portions are definitely worth the price, and the lemon iced tea was so refreshing. The ambiance also made the meal even better. There was plenty of seating, the benches and chairs were comfortable, and the music was kept at a low enough volume to easily enjoy conversation during the meal. For my birthday, Ping brought us a bubble waffle, which was such a sweet surprise and so good. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish, and I will definitely be back!

I came in the afternoon and there weren't a lot of people. They have a lot of tables inside and a few outside. I got the mixed fruit delight and I was hoping that there would be more fruit in it for the price. It was mostly coconut milk. Not saying that it tasted bad I was just hoping for more for the price.

Honestly this place hasn't changed much from 10+ years ago! Coming here for their food is pretty mediocre. I tried their crunchy chicken fried rice bowl and beef and rice dish and while the beef was good, the chicken dish was practically flavorless and tasted as if you were just eating straight up gluten. The place is definitely better for a quick grab and go of their purple rice jellies or tapioca drinks! Also, there is no ac or wifi and their service in the area isn't great. Not a great place to do study/do work.

my family can always rely on this place for late dinners. prices are good, dishes are great, and service is incredible!

I was craving some good ole wonton noodle soup and ordered online for pickup and it was deeeeelicious. The wonton's were huge!!!! I wish it came with more noodles or had a option to add more noodles for an extra charge.

The beef noodle soup is a 5 star. The braised pork with vegetables- 2 star. The pork was too chewy and tough. Not tender at all.

It was popping on a Friday evening and I can see why. The service and food are both excellent (although it also does come with a heftier price tag) We wanted to get the peking duck, but unfortunately it requires a week of advanced reservation. We ended up getting: Prime angus ribs - Excellent, super tender and flavorful meat that goes well with the (black pepper?) sauce Shredded pork with sweat bean sauce - comes served with chinese pancake (the thin stretchy crepe kind, not tortilla or bun). You eat it similar to how you'd eat a peking duck wrap, with some cucumber and spring onions but replace the duck with the shredded pork hah. Good flavor, enjoyed this dish quite a bit Stir fried pea sprouts - The dish comes stir fried with mushroom but we opted for a garlic stir fry (without mushroom) instead and it was excellent. Very garlicky and tasty. Secret Tofu - this was the most disappointing dish. It came recommended, but the tofu was more like an egg tofu and it wasnt crispy enough. Will pass. Will return again to try their peking duck next time!

Couldn't find the spot at first in the plaza but it is located near a McDonald's. Looked big from outside but was a decent size inside with a good amount of tables and seating space. Service was really fast, got seated quick and they were fast to take our orders which was crazy at first but they were on it with service so I appreciated that. Even the food came out pretty fast. Saw that the Beef Noodle Soup was good so I had to try it, the beef broth was delicious and I love bok choy so they had me at bok choy! Beef was nicely cooked too, I liked it! Dan Dan noodles were okay and it felt like it was spicy peanut butter but still good, just not my favorite. But the pork dumplings (xiao long bao) was YUMMY. It really hit the spot when we grabbed one each and the warmth and taste was delicious. Definitely my favorite! Pork and crab dumplings were good too! This time, we ordered the Shrimp with Cashew Nuts and the Beef with Chinese Broccoli. The Shrimp with Cashew Nuts was absolutely delicious, but unfortunately, the Beef with Chinese Broccoli was extremely salty. After just one bite, I honestly couldn't eat any more of it. I have always liked this restaurant and have been coming here frequently over the years. I've enjoyed their lobster several times with my family, and almost every dish I've tried here has been delicious. That's why I was especially disappointed with the Beef with Chinese Broccoli this time, as it was far too salty. Despite that, I still think this is a great place for lunch. Their lunch specials are reasonably priced, the service is always good, and the portions of rice are very generous. One thing I especially appreciate is the complimentary orange slices they serve to every customer after the meal. The oranges are always fresh and sweet, making a nice ending to lunch. One other thing I noticed during this visit was that the restroom now has a new premium hand soap. I don't remember seeing it before, and it was a nice little upgrade that added a touch of luxury hand soap to the overall experience. Overall, I still enjoy coming here and will definitely be back. Hopefully, the kitchen can be a little more careful with the seasoning next time .

The shrimp in the honey walnut dish were large prawns. They were moist, succulent and tender. It had a rich flavor because of the mayo. The chow mein was full of chicken, shrimp, squid and octopus. It was perfectly crispy and saucy at the same time. We ate to our heart's content and ended up taking home plenty of leftovers enough for another meal. Our total bill was a little over $108 with tip. It was quite busy, the place cannot accommodate a party of 10 or more as the largest table seems to fit 8 comfortably or 10 if 2 of them are children. The wait time was quite long for a party of 9, parties of 4 or less were able to get seated almost immediately. When seated, the table was one of the larger ones but still a quiet squeeze. We each ordered a dish which I got the sizzling ribeye with mushroom sauce and pasta while the kids got noodles. It took some time for food to come out, they came almost one at a time. One of our orders didn't come so we had to ask about it and it did eventually come (bbq pork with egg on rice). There's steak was thinner than expected so asking for medium rare seemed irrelevant as the steak became well done as it was on a hot plate. The corn was good, a few pieces of husk was found but not bad. The pasta had a heap of sauce which we actually liked. The kids ate the noodles, which was basically noodles with soybean sprouts. The night was quite busy and lots of people making it super loud. Service was slow, we had to Ariadne our hands quite a few times and sometimes had to get up to find someone to pack our food to go. Overall a good try, maybe we'll be back but not anytime soon as a big party.
