This place is nice and clean. The staff was friendly enough. Not overly excited but just enough. I went there with someone who is completely forget to Chinese cousin and this place is more for the adventures and original type. We had the BbQ beef plate and it was delicious, it came with a generous portion of white steam rice. Second plate was a seafood noodle that was too soft and overcooked. Lastly we got dessert, we we adventures and asked our waiter to bring us the most ordered dessert and it was OK. Not sure what we had, warm milky with some darker seeded liquid stuff. I called in to order and asked if she can delay my order about 15 mins and that shouldn't be a hard thing to do but the lady to me to call back. If I have the time to call back in 15 mins I wouldn't be calling at the moment. And her tone, she sounded so careless and don't want to service me at all. I just recently placed a job in Temple City and am so glad Phoenix Kitchen is located walking distance from my work place. Everyone in the office recommended I give it a try and I'm so glad I did! I had ordered the braised pork belly over rice & it was absolutely delish! The meat is so soft and tender, melts perfectly in your mouth! It is also savory with a hint of sweet, its' got a lovely scent to it also. It comes with some sauce you can pour over the rice and also preserved vegetables that added a fair amount of texture to the dish. I would definitely get this dish over and over again :) read more

This is our "go to" restaurant, and it's close to home & always open. Courteous help, and quickly delivered hot food. Although the restaurant is usually busy between 5:30-7:30pm, I've always found a table to have a good hot meal! Prices are average and dishes are prepared very quickly! This is a good place to come if people don't want to wait in line. 'Cause they don't usually get very busy at this place. Maybe that's the reason the food didn't taste very fresh to me. I have been a Phoenix customer for many years. When I requested a specific food try usually pretty good about it. I bought a to go order speficically with NO EGG, due to highly allergic reaction from it. This menu is not the first time we ordered from this place. But this specifically evening, the chef is new and decided to put the egg, in the food, even though i told the manager 'No EGG'. Sure enough my poor kids started to get an alergic reaction. I had to shoot an EPI pen on her. So, not only she suffer from the reaction, she didn't ended up sleep until dawn. I called the mgr directly and she apologize for the negligent the chef had caused. The next morning i received a call from the district mgr, apologizing and offer me a $20 gift card. And if I want to get more, i have to go thru their insurance company which requires me to contact my kid's doctor, to say that its true that my child is using EPI pen. I did greet in touch with their insurance company. The hassle for the negligent that the chef had caused, are so easily justify bye the insurance company. And if i don't give them the proof off them, i would not get reimbursed. As for any other compensations, i guess, just a sorry over the phone from the district manager and an offer of $20 gift card. That's the value of a life for them. WoW..... Since i was called off for a family emergency outside US, i haven't been have a chance yet calling my pediatric to request the letter and i will; as i remembering to express my feeling about this establishment. Fist sign as we walked in - the place was packed and we were the only Caucasians - Good! The menu is very extensive. We ordered: Shrimp dumpling soup - excellent, with spinach and noodles, enough to share for four Fried Gyoza - excellent, if you like an even mix of meat and veggie gyoza Chicken wings - EXCELLENT, perfect seasoning, no batter. We ordered second. Pork Belly Sliders - excellent, 3 in an order Bean sprouts with bacon - Ok, not the favorite Shrimp & pork lo main - good, a bit plain Beef and vegetables - the best!! I was very disappointed at this particular Phoenix. I ordered the durian rolls because there were 4 of us and the picture in the menu showed 4 pieces. The waiter brought out 3 rolls. I asked him the picture in the menu showed 4, how come he only brought out 3. Jack, our waiter was very rude. He said the restaurant ran out of 4 pieces rolls. I asked him so would there be a discount. He said no. I asked to talk to the manager and Jack said the manager was sleeping. He talked to us in a very unprofessional manner like very annoyed. I came here to eat last Friday, on the 13th of May with my little brother, in the afternoon. I ordered the Beef Stew Noodle soup while ordering a Braised pork belly to go. The service was okay, there were only 2 - 3 other couple of people there. I finished my food, paid, and left. Later that day, I started getting sick, stomach cramps, nausea, minor vomiting. 7 days later and a visit to urgent care and missing work for 2 days out of this week so far. Daily and night I was experiencing diarrhea, my behind is bleeding from all the liquid stools I had. I called in yesterday night to make a complain to the manager, who was name Matthew. He took my information down like if he was taking an order. Then Matthew, the manager told me to have a good night. No empathy for what I am going through from eating there. Where was at least some fake expression of concern? Why would someone who is suffering from food poison have a good night? Just told me his general manager will call back. (Still waiting on the call now...) I would suggest the Phoenix in Arcadia over this place, at least there is good services at the Arcadia location. Hmm, another Phoenix location that just opened up in Temple City. This Phoenix Kitchen doesn't skip a beat in their decor and looks very modern and similar to their other locations. They have a back parking lot that can be accessed through an alley on Encinita Ave or Alessandro Ave or just park right up the front on the street. They have outdoor seating with some really comfy heaters sitting above you on the ceiling. Service is really quick and all the workers are nice and direct. The only knock about this Phoenix location is that the quality of their drinks weren't that great. I ordered the mango tapioca drink and while there was a lot and i mean a lot of tapioca, the mango was almost non existent, also it wasn't just my drink that was lacking, the mixed fruit was also not present and the lemon ice tea my friend got was way too sweet than it normally is. I also ordered the appetizer platter, it was decent but seemed like something you'd buy at an Asian market in the frozen aisle, it contained 3 dried shu mai balls, 3 shrimp egg rolls, 3 curry puffs that are like pork samosas, and 3 mini buns that reminded me of a Chinese doughnut, it also came with a tangy sauce and condensed milk. My cousin ordered the indo fried rice, it was moreso like a tomato red rice with squid, and it isn't spicy at all, even though it said it was supposed to be spicy. read more

The staff is very helpful and quick. Always there when you need them, or they at least look at everyone so you can wave them down. The food on the other hand can be a hit and miss. I like one of their food a lot. The sliced meat with rice and an egg on tip. I don't think that's the correct name, but that's what it is! That one is yummy and filling, always a favorite for me. Their desserts are sometimes good sometimes not. One of my favorite snack/dessert is the Hong Kong style egg waffle and they serve it here! One time it was good, light and crispy. The other time it was pretty bad, dough-y, a bit tough/hard and very limp. There other desserts can be good, but it can also be bad because they put too much water or not enough of some other kind of ingredient. I grew up with Phoenix kitchen it is one of my favorite restaurant. I've been to the one in Chinatown, Alhambra and Arcadia. The food is delicious and the wait staffs are very friendly. This is the horrible horrible experience ever!!! We were happy they are opening a new one super close to our place at the beginning... until we went for a dessert after dinner... Only ordered total 3 desserts, one came out wrong order, one taste super bitter, one came out even without the spoon..... ( hello? how am I supposed to eat it? use my hand???) NO Napkins either, self-service!!! I don't understand, the desserts are all pre-made, why it took so.... long to just get them??? Phoenix Kitchen is the newest and most recent branches in Phoenix establishments! I like how there is a location even closer to home! So thats a plus! My favorites is the Lychee Green Tea because well I mainly enjoy green tea drinks, but I like how this drink is just the right amount of sweet. It's not packed full of sugar its balances it out. I also really like the Lettuce Cup, It's something that could be found at the other chains as well So I grew up eating it as I used to go to the one in Alhambra with my family a lot when I was younger. read more

This is basically a report of the horrible experience my friends and I spent here just now. At this restaurant, they microwave certain deserts to make them warm. Problem, they microwaved the desert in a bowl that specifically stated NOT FOR MICROWAVE. This is absolutely disastrous for your health long term. The food had plastic taste. We told the manager and the manager's attitude is just trying to not blow up the issue to their boss by waiving the desert. The attitude is absolutely not acceptable. For a few dollars of free desert we basically ingested toxic chemical. I will never buy things from Phoenix. read more

This new location is by far the nicest Phoenix of them all, with new modern tables and chairs, decor and fixtures, and semi-outdoor seating with a waterfall wall. Expect to find all your favorite Phoenix favorites here, such as the fried rices and noodles which make great comfort food especially late at night, tapioca coconut milk drinks, and pudding and mochi desserts. This location is also open later (midnight on weekdays and 1am on weekends) than most of the other stores, so it's nice having a late night spot in this area of the 626. read more
