This pho place is in a unique location, right next to the stairs. The bar-side seating is like a ramen shop in Japan where there are dividers for people to enjoy their pho alone. Very fast service once seated. Wait time to be seated can be long, if you have a large party. We were a group of five & the wait was 45 mins. When I first walked up, the server was already seems like she doesn't want to work. Because we are group of 2 but wanted to sit in the 4 people table for more comfy, we politely asked if we can sit in the 4 people table since there is no costumer but she didn't even explain fully why we can't sit in the 4 people table but said "it gets busy so we can't" this is not a good way to treat customer. As a person who worked as a server and customer service for 15 years, this is not the way you treat your customers and if this is not your job at least pretend. This is not professional showing your emotions to your customers. Keep your emotions to yourself. And lastly please you guys have 4-5 servers but even through there is not much customer we press the bell it takes more than 5-10mins to come. This review is mostly on their customer services. We came into phoholic during the week for take out. We order their number 1 with beef waited for our food took it home. I live 10 min away from the place. Once I got home opened everything up and realized the beef was raw didn't think much of it because I figured it would cook once we added the broth. So put the pho all together only to get a bloody bowl of pho. I called them on the phone told them what happen they weren't really understanding so I placed another order the same thing to pick up. Once I get there I told them everything showed them pictures of everything. He told me "It's because I had to boil the broth" if that's the case how come none of this is said when I picked it up? Not only that but this is the 2nd time I went for pick up and I didn't have that problem. So if I'm ordering to go and I have to boil the broth then why offer take out? But why not tell your customers before hand? Long story short they didn't offer to make up for it nor apologize for the confusion. I had to pay for two of them in the end. I rarely give 1star and hate to give less than average reviews. I usually contemplate how my reviews are going to be received by both customers and owners before I post them. This time I honestly won't hesitate to really be honest about my terrible experience. Came in around 11:30am, not even greeted by girl host who was pretty rude. No smile, didn't want to be there and gave me a face when I asked if she could fit in a party of 4. She led me to the dining area which was cramped, hot/stuffy with no air flow and just an odd corner. Sat down and there was nothing on the table and had to wait 10 minutes before someone brought a menu. It took another 10 minutes to get my order in which was simple (2 rare beef pho and 4 waters). Waited about 15 minutes, got the veggies and small dish of hoison sauce and few drops of Sriracha but no water! Everyone else around me that came after got their drinks and food. Mind you, I was with children so they were thirsty, hot from the stuffiness and hungry. A lady came up to me to ask to take my order again. I looked at her puzzled and she said she just wanted to make sure they got the order right and to repeat what I wanted. It took about another 10 minutes for my food to come out which by then I was so over it. Oh by the way, no utensils or napkins were given to us with our food so then again I had to flag someone down. Last to come out were the waters which should have come out first. And I found it hilarious that they brought 3 waters for a table of 4 people. I didn't even bother asking for another glass. This was a circus show at this point. Here's the verdict on the pho: Gross. The broth was a dark dark brown and lacked flavor. About a 1/4 inch layer of fat swimming at the top. The beef (rare steak) was hacked up slices of idk what. The noodles had a weird aftertaste to it. This was so below par. I will gladly pay $25 a bowl in Irvine for way better quality and way better service. Service is everything. You will always remember how people treated you and the way they made you feel. When I went to pay back at the host stand, the girl was still rude, no "thank you" or "how was your meal?". Ridiculous. read more

I love the menu selection and pricing. You'd expect to pay$17 or $18 per soup bowl but it's only $13- $14 on average. The tea is free. They bring out the sauce premade so it's nice and less work.
