Used to be a big fan of this place, unfortunately after tonight I don't think I'll ever eat here again.. I was unable to leave the house tonight, decided to Ubereats with this location. Once I got my order, I confidently took the first bite and to my surprise it was a piece of chicken. I ordered the kung pao tofu, from their vegetarian section. I choose to be vegetarian and thankfully have no allergies. But this makes me think, would a careless mistake like this be made if someone had a specific diet restriction? Like allergies? Or just in general any reason? I contacted the store and spoke to an employee and told her my situation. At first she said that I ordered the regular chicken kung pao, and I told her that that would be impossible because I specifically ordered from the "vegetarian" options. She put me on hold for a couple of minutes, once she returned, she confirmed that it had been their mistake and that I would get a refund. It's Americanized Chinese food but after traveling China quite a bit, sign me up!!! Personally, I am grateful they don't serve hummingbird tongue or put the chicken's head on your plate. Ugh. Pick Up Sticks is great on a day you don't feel like cooking or just need some comfort food. It's consistently good (10x better than Panda Express) and made to order. The staff here is always welcoming and nice. I came in one day when I had lost my voice and the manager offered me a free cup of tea to sip while I was waiting for my order to go. Pick Up Stix is usually a friendly place with great food. But too many times it's the opposite at the Granada Hills restaurant. Too many times I've gotten the wrong order, cold food (it's supposed to be fresh), food with no taste, and rude service. Last night was my last time. We walked in and no greeting and her tone was anything but pleasant. When we placed our order she would just sigh and roll her eyes. She continually removed her mask although she is not supposed to. When we asked for napkins, she sighed loudly and rolled her eyes. Food was actually awful. The curry chicken had no chicken and no curry. It was all vegetables with water. The rice was hard and dry. This has happened too many times. I don't live near there so I couldn't go back. This is not an isolated incident...its practically everytime I go there. Never again. From the moment we walked in, the smell of rancid oil should have been a clue. We ordered in, and ate outside on their patio. The tables were dirty, they had not been cleaned in a long time. This place is far from authentic, but it has some tasty dishes. My favorites are the house special chicken, the garlic chicken, and chicken chow mein. This is a fast casual Chinese place (which some Japanese and Thai dishes) but it's not like Panda Express where you go down the line and order what you want. Everything is made to order which is nice, but can take a while. You can either order entree size portions of the proteins (which comes with white or brown rice) or a combo that comes with the protein, brown or white rice, and a side (salad, cream cheese wontons, or dumplings). The combo is enough food for one person and two people can usually share an entree unless you're starving or have a large appetite. The service here can be hit or miss, and it can sometimes take 15-20 minutes just to get your food, which is frustrating for a place that's supposed to be quick. It's the only Chinese food option in this side of the shopping plaza so if you're in the area and craving some Chinese food, stop by. read more

Came to pick up stix's for dinner & had the worst experience due to me getting Mongolian beef with literally 5 pieces of meat & the rest onions... literally a whole onion was cut & put into my to go box. When I brought this to the shift manager Laura, she was extremely rude & gave attitude when I asked her why it was like a pound of onions & barely any meat & also showed her. She said "that's how we make it here we put a bunch of onions on the top" & didn't resolve the issue. When I walked back to the table my family was eating at, my fiancée observed Laura shake her head & roll her eyes. Literally the most disrespectful person I talked to there & we come here all the time. When I walked back to ask for a bag she kept ignoring me saying "excuse me" & then I asked for her managers name & she said "I am the manager" & I said no who is your boss? What is your bosses name??? She then finally told me it's Mike. This customer service should be embarrassing for whoever owns this location. What a bad taste this left in my mouth. do NOT go to this "Pick Up Stix" location. It has now changed to "Pick Up Stix Express", which totally goes against their concept of freshly cooked food. The food selection is terrible, and it just sits there all day and looks gross. Since they now serve yogurt, I thought I would be able to kill two birds w/ one stone and save myself a trip to Menchie's but their topping selection is limited and they are very stingy w/ them. I'd rather make the drive down to Porter Ranch for the traditional Pick Up Stix experience. The food is okay, nothing special, a little too much sauce sometimes. The food is cooked to order so it is hot and fresh, but it takes too long. If you are in a hurry, phone-in an to go order. We were trying to get their attention to give them our order. One of the workers ( male )just look us at dumb founded and walked away. Ok so I loveee Pick Up Stix but this one is DISGUSTING. I went there one night to get some food to go and as I waited, I noticed a ball of hair next to my foot. Yes a BALL OF HAIR and to top it off, right after I noticed the ball of hair, a cricket crawled by! Even worse, the food was not good at all; I ended up just throwing it away. Now, this is not to condemn all Pick Up Stix restaurants but, the one in Granada Hills is a no for me. The one in Porter Ranch however, is great. read more

Excellent service, came in around 3 pm, and they were a bit busy but everyone was being taken care of. Seemed there were only 2 associates working, Adrian at the register and somebody in the back cooking. My order was ready in about 10 to 15 minutes with great customer service and I've always liked pick up stix food. I'll be back soon. read more
