Went to this place for the first time tonight with my wife. This place was great. We sat at the bar, they have a great selection of wines and local craft beers. We shared a Caesar salad which was really good. I ordered the pepperoni pizza, I had to stop at 4 pieces or I would of been miserable, but I could of eaten the whole thing. My wife had the Prosciutto and she loved it. Overall we will definitely be going back to Pie Tap. read more

Stopped by Pie Tap for our first time last night about 5:30. We were two hungry couples.The place was busy and they told us there would be a 20 minute wait as we could see they had some very large parties they were seating, so we enjoyed a glass of wine at the bar. The wait was only about 10 minutes. We were seated in a patio room that had temporary walls for the winter. The temperature was comfortable. Clay was our waiter and he was awesome. We started with the pull apart bread and fondue. All of us enjoyed it. Each couple split a pizza. Ours was 1/2 mushroom and 1/2 sausage. Yumm...just the right amount of topping and cheese. The crust was delicious. The other couple had the margarita pizza and they enjoyed it as well. Looking forward to going back to try some other items! Went on Saturday for dinner and was extremely disappointed. We ordered the rosemary lemonade and had several refills. Been here several times now! Can't get enough. Today we got the Fondue. It comes with delicious sea sale rosemary bread puffs, goat cheese fondue (mild) and strawberry pepper jam. Mix the two together and you will have an excellent experience. We had a half salami and half margherita pie. Delicious! Add the pizza bones dipping sauces for extra $3. Totally worth it. While famous for all the wonderful mighty meaty offerings, we had a vegetarian/vegan guest and needed to satisfy all the divergent tastes. We were not disappointed. Excellent veggie pizza with creative and tasty toppings and sauces. The goat cheese Fondue appetizer was surprisingly good even to our snooty Swiss contingent. The pepper jam in the sauce is the best way to go. The donuts were perfect, divine, with a cool twist. We ordered them with a variety of toppings to make them exactly as you like it. Justin our excellent waiter's suggestions, detail to sussing out with the chef our different allergies, and his service were on the mark. Tyler made sure our Covid fearful guest's concern were soothed; toss in a solid selection of beverages from the spicy roasted Rosemary lemonade to the variety local beers (didn't have the wine) and we have a winner! Update: The rapid response from the manager/owners was amazing. I can tell they are really taking the time to read these posts and improve. They insisted on giving me a gift card to which I refused. I should have been more forthcoming with my prior positive experiences. The dedication to customer service speaks volumes and for this reason I'll for sure give them my business again, sooner than later. Well done, they seem to really have good leadership. I realize things are hard during Covid which is why I gave them 3 stars, but my delivery was pretty off. The kids pizza my son ordered was barely a pizza as it was about 40% bread and very little toppings. He ate a slice and that was it. (We paid $4 more for sausage that was barely there) I ordered a side of rotisserie chicken, some chicken lollipops and some dipping sauces and a salad. The entire meal with tip was about $55 which was high considering what we got. The chicken lollipops were pretty good, the sauces are overpriced considering what you get but the rotisserie chicken was kind of comical. It was boneless, skinless and just sad tasting. The patient proof and rise of the dough was most appreciated and yielded a perfectly constructed crust. Pie Tap well surpassed my expectations for my first time. The rustic quaint feel when you walk in gives you an at home feeling. The enclosed patio is just right for mild weather days. Pie Tap Pizza Workshop + Bar has been on my radar for a rather lengthy amount of time. So finally I had an errand to run at the nearby Calloway's Nursery, and endeavored to not only try it, but to review it. The restaurant was busy but guests were not pervading everywhere. I asked for a table, and was informed that there would be an extensive wait, despite there being open tables visible. We decided to seat ourselves at the bar, which ended up being an advisable choice since I could watch their Bar Maid GP-100 polish a wine glass for about a hour. There was something mesmerizing and hypnotic about watching the machine in action, though why this solitary glass was never unloaded is a bit of a mystery. We were served by a gentleman, outfitted much like a hipster steampunk bartender. Service itself was detached as there were regulars present that were clearly prioritized. Cocktails were outstandingly weak, and rather on the sweet side. It is not outside the realm of possibilities that the overbearing sweetness covered up any discernible trace of alcohol, but I do feel as if the pours were miserly. We ordered two pizzas (pies) and a large simple salad. The salad however was never delivered, it's still MIA, but did however manage to find its way on to the bill. I was excited to try it based on the description. The pepperoni pizza was nicely made, using classic proportions. The pepperoni itself is high quality Salumeria Biellese pepperoni, which is a tremendous salami, however this pepperoni contains a lot of fennel. For use in a pizza I would actually prefer either a spicier variant, or one with a more restrained use of fennel. This sort of pepperoni would be better on a Charcuterie board, versus browned in a pizza. Mainly because the fennel is less intense when cold, versus the blooming sort of characteristic it has when hot. We also tried the Bacon & Egg pizza, which was nicely equipped with caramelized onions, eggs, and streaky bacon. I will certify that they use high caliber ingredients in all of their food items, and the quality is very noticeable. Since this location is more suburban that the others, I would probably be better off visiting their Design District location or Henderson Ave for the bonafide Pie Tap Pizza Workshop + Bar experience. Overall, not a bad experience, but a few faux pas made it a 3/5 rather than a 4/5. read more

This is the ONLY pizza place we go now. I have given other places 5 stars before but I would hands down say Pie Tap is our favorite. We eat pretty healthy and are careful where we splurge calories. Pie Tap is somewhere I gladly eat the food without feeling guilty. Favorite is always their pizza, their pasta and salad are also good. We ate at pie tap last night on the patio and really felt safe ! All staff were wearing masks and the bathroom door handle even had a self sanitized cover over it ! The first time I ordered the chicken cutlet Parm, it was really good. It was a nice cut of meat, nice portion, and delicious. Omggggg, their Florentine pizza is amazing!!! Hollandaise sauce on pizza is incredible & if you like spicy I recommend asking for the chili oil. The smoked salmon was creamy and delicious.. the mushroom and egg pie was SO tasty with the bacon and of course an egg on top! There was some major yolk action I tried their blackberry mimosa and their pineapple mimosa..both delicious and only $3! I truly had the best time and thoroughly enjoyed my experience.
