5 stars to me means everything was executed to perfection for the things *I* care about and that's the food. We took a gamble on Pea Shoots. Freaking amazing. The Spicy dumplings were some of the best I ever had. The NY Strip was over but it was very tender and the glass noodles were so addictive. Their chili oil is crack. Seriously. Eat bowls full. Didn't do any cocktails, sorry. Mars Iwai is a solid Japanese whiskey that drinks like a bourbon. The area is funky. The vibe is chic. The service is legit. If you have not been here as a local your missing out. I wish there was more like this in my hometown.

No joke, this was the best, juiciest, crunchiest fried chicken I've ever had. It came with this spicy honey that just complimented the chicken in the most wonderful way possible. We also got their veggie dumplings, which were also really good but not exactly my taste. I'm glad to have tried them but i think personally the flavor is just not for me, but they were still perfectly made with a beautiful presentation. The portions were also amazing, I left the restaurant too full to really walk and I made sure to starve myself before going. I would give this place a 4.5 if I could. Really nice workers with great and attentive service and the place is well decorated. I know I have to get this chicken again.

I heard great things about Pig and Tiger and having watched Top Chef, I was pretty excited about coming here. We got the dumplings, pork belly bao buns, and the Taiwanese fried chicken. Everything was tasty. The pork bao, which I forgot to take a picture of, was served as a build-your-own bao. The pork was tender and the mustard green contrast the richness of the pork extremely well. The Taiwanese fried chicken was crispy, juicy, and well-seasoned and the chicken fat fried rice is to die for. One major complaint is that the food is overall on the pricy side. This is especially true considering all the amazing dim sum restaurants that opened up in Denver recently. Additionally, the flavor was adjusted more for the American palette. That said, everything was tasty and our group left full. I definitely would return to try other dishes, especially when they revamp their menu. 3.5/5 but rounded to 4/5.

Came here with my husband for Valentine's Day, we heard great things and were excited to try! I can't recall having much Taiwanese food in the past, and this certainly did not disappoint. Every dish we ordered plus the cocktails were amazing. The Taiwanese fried chicken is popular, and I particularly loved the hot and sour soup. Our waiter was very attentive and food came out promptly and was delivered as expected. The ambiance is very nice, perfect for a date night. Parking can be scarce in this area so plan for some extra time to find a spot, or take an uber. Overall we had a great meal and would come back!

Pig and Tiger is located in a unique area, there is not a lot of restaurants around but in downtown Denver. The staff were friendly and helpful. They answered our many questions and made great recommendations - 4 to 5 dishes for our table of 4. We were full but not stuffed by the end of dinner. The pork belly baos melted in your and provided dedicated which allows you to make them as to your liking. The fried chicken was "chefs kiss", and the vegetables dumplings were surprisingly flavorful. I was too busy enjoying the cocktail to take a photo . I highly recommend the May Mei.

After seeing it on social media for a while now, we finally made a stop in. It's a trendier Asian spot. I was worried the food would be Asian fusion but I was surprised that it's actually heavily Taiwan based with some fusion and substitutions. We made reservations ahead of time for a group of 4. Service is incredible. They're very nice and food comes out pretty quick. We ordered the jellyfish salad, fall vegetable dumplings, jade noodles, braised pork rice, and the LA beef roll. The vegetable dumplings were quite delicious. It had butternut squash and something else but flavors were very good. The jade noodles were made with a "Taiwanese" pesto. I'm not really sure what makes it Taiwanese but it was quite good. The LA beef rolls were my favorite. It's deconstructed and you make it yourself. It's served with a scallion tortilla inspired by the chefs roots in LA. Very tasty. Definitely need to come back with my partner.

One of my favorite Denver openings of 2025 -- this fantastic Taiwanese restaurant in Five Points with the friendliest staff and sleep, moody vibes (that surprises you with also one of the best wine menus in Denver)! Super impressed by the creative wine list -- very unexpected that I'd find some of my favorite options in town here! My surprise food favorite? The jellyfish salad -- crunchy, bright, refreshing. I could eat it every day. Other dishes we loved: - Pork/Shrimp Chili Dumplings - LA Beef Roll with Beef Shank & Tongue (no longer on the menu but needs to come back) - Mapo Tofu - Braised Pork Rice (Lu Rou Fan) - Saucy Pork Noodles with Pork Ragu (Zhajiangmian) - Taiwanese Fried Chicken (GF) - Shaved Ice Dessert with Almond Panna Cotta, Pineaple, and Thai Basil

As a Taiwanese-American, I'm so happy to see a restaurant in Denver represent Taiwanese cuisine, even if it still follows the theme of fusion, a lot of the dishes here are executed really well. Some of my favorites: - Jellyfish salad: may not be everyone's jam, but the seasoning is spot on. There's a lot of cucumber in it if you're curious to try but nervous to try jellyfish. - fried chicken: I've tried this twice now and there was an improvement between the first time to second time. Seasoning was a better representation of Taiwanese chicken cutlet, and the rice took on some more garlic ginger flavor. - LA beef tacos: I heard they recently took this off the menu but really loved the play on LA street tacos meet beef rolls. - shaved ice panna cotta: hits the spot each time, a must! So good and one of my favorite desserts in all of Denver. The one caveat: I do think their cocktails could use some work. The concepts all sound great but sometimes there's a bit too much going on in the drinks. I don't mind this though as I'm at restaurants 95% for the food. Excited to try their winter menu with beef noodle soup and soy milk for breakfast!

This was a complicated experience to rate - lots of highs and lows that averaged out to about a 3.5/4. Some dishes were great, some not good. Service was good. Prices are higher than I expected (especially for dishes that are street food in Taiwan) and for inconsistent dishes, it made me question the rating, but the good parts really carried the rating. The dishes we got to share between two people: pork belly gua bao, beef noodle soup, fried chicken. We had some leftover chicken. Fried Chicken: the dish that carried. Seasoning and texture of chicken was incredible. You get a half chicken. The rice was a simple fried rice, but delicious. This was the priciest, at $40, and originally gave me stick shock, but they really did do a good job. We talked about coming back just for this dish. Gua bao: pork belly was cooked very well. The bun could've been softer - it was a bit stiff and made me question whether it was just heated up from frozen. Beef noodle soup: the biggest disappointment, but also because I love BNS. The soup was SO salty. Tasted like a bowl of soy sauce. The beef wasn't tender and the noodles were too al dente when they should be bouncy (as good Asian noodles are). Overall, if you're new to Taiwanese/Chinese food, these flavors could still be very satisfying and I would recommend it. Cozy, but elevated ambiance and nice people really make it a worthwhile destination.

A friend and I came here for an early reservation right after work and were seated right away. It was packed by the time we left. It has a cool, dark vibe. Our server was very friendly and walked us through the menu and gave recommendations. We each got cocktails and shared three different dishes. They were all good, but some of it was too spicy for me.

We came here for dinner on a Friday evening and had made a reservation. This place was fairly full and they have a Taiwanese/Korean influenced menu. The chef has his own take on traditional Taiwanese dishes, which was quite refreshing to see. We started with an order of cocktails, my husband and his friend got a teapot of the old fashion, which was Nice. I got the pandan drink, which was very spirit forward and alright - wish it had more pandan. For appetizer, we got the spicy pork wontons, which was really good - the sauce that it came with was my favourite. It was spicy yet not salty, which a lot of Asian places tend to do. We also got the crispy potatoes which was honestly quite surprising. I love how well it paired with the sauce , which was more like a spicy gochujang. For mains, we got the Jade noodles which came with pesto that I have never tried in Asian dishes and it was really amazing. I would highly recommend this dish to anyone who is dining here. We also got the spicy pork noodles, which were good. For desserts, We got the chocolate cake, which was more like a chocolate mousse, but it felt like I was almost eating bland noodles with a lot of Sesame. I think the desserts here could be better. Overall, I think we had a good experience out here. The service was attentive yet, not intrusive. The ambience is dim late and rustic. I think this is a good new Asian spot that we have in Denver. Parking can be an issue so I recommend coming in a few minutes ahead of your reservation to find a spot.

Pig and Tiger is a new Taiwanese fusion restaurant in the LoDo area of Downtown Denver. Looking at it from outside, it may not seem like much, but upon walking in, one can sense that they will have a culinary experience. Do be aware that the only parking in the area is metered and timed street parking. I loved the atmosphere here. Dark, moody, great for catching up with a friend or to take someone on a date that you want to impress. The music and overall sound levels in there make it so conversation flows naturally. Service was on point. Our server accommodated all of our requests and took care of us very well. Huge kudos there! The food overall was good albeit either very salty or not salty enough. The mapo tofu and sweet and sour soup I found to be overwhelmingly salty. The mapo tofu in particular I had to eat with a healthy spoonful of rice to endure the saltiness. Sesame noodles and jellyfish salad were very bland in my opinion and I felt like I needed extra sauce or salt for those. Prices are on the higher end but along the lines of what you would expect for a higher end restaurant in Downtown Denver.
