Goodbye Honey Pig, hello Pigya! True to its name, Pigya specializes in pork, although they also have other options available. The meat quality is great and I like that there is more variety in the type of pork, setting Pigya apart from other pork-focused restaurants like Eight. The portion size is quite large - the 2-person option would probably be enough for 3-4 people depending on hunger and stomach capacity. We got a whole plate of chadol, 2 fat slices of belly, 2 collar chops, and 5 strips of cheek - and that's in addition to the kimchi fried rice, wagyu carpaccio, steamed egg, and whopping full pot of ramen! Not to mention all the banchan sides as well - you will be sure to leave Pigya stuffed like, well...a pig. The service was excellent! The staff were all friendly and attentive - at one point I dropped a chopstick and I was brought replacements before I could even turn around to try and ask for one. They were quick to tend to the grill and bring refills of banchan as well. I also have to specifically call out the genius move of providing wasabi as a dipping side. Usually kbbq places provide salt, sesame oil, and maybe some sort of dipping sauce for the meat. I've never seen wasabi as an option before, but it went amazingly with the pork! The wasabi cuts through the fattiness so well - seriously DON'T SLEEP on it! I don't think I'll be able to eat pork at kbbq without it anymore! All in all, I have nothing negative to say about Pigya. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the vibes are bright, cheerful, and fun. I'm delighted to find a new kbbq spot to add to my small and selective list of favorites in Ktown and can't wait to come back with friends! read more

I was so excited to try this place because I heard so many good reviews, but when I went, the meat quality was very low, the rice was so hard and crusty that my friend and I couldn't eat more than one bite, the rice paper was so hard it would crack in half, the overall experience was not very good. Shout out to the server that was working so hard doing everything for their tables, but it seems like the owner doesn't want to pay to have anyone helping them, so half of the meat and kimchi ended up burnt. I don't blame the server at all, they did their best, but they don't seem to have any other staff to help them. We couldn't finish the meat because it just wasn't good. At this price point, the food was so low quality and it made me so sad because I was a regular customer at Honey Pig and was so hoping this place would be good. It seems the owner is trying to cut costs in unnecessary places, like using old rice, bad rice paper, barely giving much kimchi or bean sprouts, low quality meat, and understaffed. Ah... the best pork belly spot from Honey Pig, maybe my hype was too high due to previous location. The big fall was first the meat. Its not amazing, average. Second, service is terrible. I cant get anyone to help our table. Even after order, it seems servers are in sections and they just let the section server know that we need something but never comes. Most importantly it seems staffs are under trained... They do not know how to cook meat, SPECIALLY pork belly WHICH IS THE MOST IMPORTANT... They try to look fancy with fire and cheese but no... maybe the server helped us was just that "one". Whole time, I was saying "Nooo please whaaaat are you doing!!" inside me. I tried to cook it myself and he said he got it and takes the tong... Lastly.. ramen... the one that makes the nice Korean style dessert after meat... it is nothing like how it looks in other photos... so much water, so called "HanGang Ramen" so disappointing... I honestly want to give one star but I really want to believe that I went on a bad day and leave extra star. Vibe itself they revived it decent but not too different from before. Here's where I have an issue - the service is extremely inattentive and if we didn't flip the meat ourselves, it would have severely burnt. And when the lady with the short orange hair came back, nothing was said, but just a confused look as to why our meat was no longer medium rare but medium well and burnt on one side. After that, she decided not to cook for us and had one of her other colleague take over. It wasn't packed and she had two other tables. I would add that the other tables were Korean and well we're not. Also we asked multiple times if we can order beef tongue and both waiters were dismissive and said the carpaccio tastes like it so don't worry or that it is too much food. I heard a lot of good things through the grape vine (TikTok) and decided to try it out for a casual hungover Sunday dinner. For a group of four, we decided to go with the Pork Gyu option. Initially, I admit we weren't really hungry to begin with, but we finished everything. That's how good it was! The quality and price point of food is unmatched. All of the meats were solid and the flavor was phenomenal. The brisket was cooked perfectly with crispy edges, galbi was flavorful and tender, and the hangjungsal was fatty and rich. The cast iron grill does such wonderful justice to the meat. Our group loved the victory leaf wrap which is such a rare find at a KBBQ restaurant. It was the right amount of sweet and tangy need to blanket the succulent meat. The fried rice and ramyun at the end was such a comforting finish. In addition to the solid food, the service was impeccable. Connie took care of us from start to finish. She was well knowledgeable, to the point, and down to earth. She took such good care of us! Food and seating was prompt, refills for our banchan were on point, and the timing was perfectly timed. A very memorable experience and I look forward to coming back again soon! The food was excellent and it's so convenient that they grill everything for you. They are fast though so you have to let them know if you want to take it slower. i definitely see myself becoming a regular at this spot! the combo options are great and the beef/pork combo have all of my favorites (pork belly, pork jowl, 꽃살, beef brisket) which is so perfect for me. it also comes with fried rice and RAMEN at the end???? insane. the quality was amazing and the price was great for what this place serves. we got a large for 5 people and i think it was $98 prior to tax. we weren't super full but at a pretty good level. they also cook and plate all your food for you so all you gotta do is be prepared to EAT. unfortunately, i don't have too many photos because i was too excited and busy eating. but shoutout to my girl Connie for being a great server. the other servers were equally as kind and quick. i came around 5:30pm on a weekday and it wasn't that busy so service was great but i imagine this place will get super busy super quick. i think the service will be just as great though. the vibes are great inside. everything is brand new and clean which i absolutely loved. the staff greets "welcome to pigya" on the way to get seated which is cute and fun haha the only thing is that the round table we got sat on was a bit small for all the plates (party of 5) but we made it work with no real problems. this was the best kbbq i've had in a while and that's saying a lot because kbbq quality has gone down in koreatown over the years. so i totally recommend recommend recommend!! read more

I was traveling from out of town with some friends and we stopped by this place because we've heard good things, let me just say it did not disappoint! The food was great & the price was amazing! For a group of 5, we spent around $150 which is the cheapest kbbq we've ever eaten. The meat quality was good, they cooked it for you which is a plus. We loved the additional ramen that they brought out for free and honestly was pretty filling. With the glut of KBBQ options in K-town, Pigya is a phenomenal option, especially if you enjoy pork! We went with the $88 Pork Gyu for two and ended up with way more food than we could finish. The set comes with pork belly, pork cheek, boneless beef short rib, and brisket for meats. The sides include wagyu carpaccio, steamed egg, hangover ramen, and kimchi fried rice. The service is spectacular as they cook the meat for you so you can focus on eating and hanging out with friends. All the meats are top-notch, but my personal favorite was the pork cheek. I wish the short rib came marinated but the yellow dipping sauce is exquisite and goes well with any meat.
