Definitely a great spot to enjoy their chowder and avoid the lines and chaos at Pikes Place Market. Service was quick and easy, good for smaller groups to enjoy a quick bite. Ambiance is fine its in the mall outside of DinTaiFung but nothing special. Enjoyed their lobster bisque the best super creamy with nice chunks of lobster.

This particular location of the well-known chowder place in Seattle is located on the 4th and topmost floor of Pacific Place in downtown close to Din Tai Fung and Seng Tong Thai. This is a sit-in area that's perfect if the weather's too hot or too cold to go the other location at Pike Place itself, since there's many tables just outside the area this restaurant takes up. As stated in their name, they serve chowder of all kinds. I've had their New England and Manhattan clam chowder, and during a Yelp event my bestie and I bought their smoked salmon chowder after having it as a sample. This comes with bits of potatoes and capers in addition to the smoked salmon itself, though I saved the bread that came with the dish for my bestie. I was happy with the capers since they usually come with smoked salmon if you put them on bagels, so this was a nice addition. There's the regular fishy taste of the salmon but doesn't have that really heavy seafood-y aftertaste.

For some reason I seem to forget that this alternate location of Pike Place Chowder is here. I always think of the one in Post Alley at the Market. But now that I've been here it is my go-to location for this chowder. There is a very minimal queue and plenty of seating throughout the area so it's a great option as the Pike Place location always has a line snaking outside their front doors. Today I bought a large 32oz bag of frozen New England Style clam chowder to enjoy at home with the family. This chowder is one of the top 3-4 I have ever had (the others being Ivars, Duke's and Charleston St Cafe). I have tried the famous chowders in Boston and they don't hold a candle to the chowders made here in the PNW. Pike Place Chowder is tops for their variety and tastiness. Give this place a try and you won't be sorry. Yummy!

4-Cup Chowder Sampler and Maine-Style Lobster Roll

This mall is a bit odd--perhaps malls are out of style but Pike Place Chowder was prominently featured next to the DTF next door. Holy cow, the lobster rolls are crazy expensive and I recommend the 1/4lb instead of the 1/2lb, since the roll isn't any larger for the 1/2lb. The chowder sampler was the right choice, however, because the flavors were fantastic! We didn't have to commit to one large serving but got to enjoy many bites of different kinds. The lobster roll was good but not great--I would have appreciated a larger roll. The bread was delicious. The service was nice--our cashier helpfully explained the menu for us first timers and introduced us to many of the different flavors and offerings, which I really appreciated. The seating is at food court style tables that are reserved for the restaurant.

Hubs and I had the Connecticut lobster roll with chowder and it was great. The toast was buttery, claim chowder was pretty good a little salty but I enjoyed it, lobster tasted really good, and the staff was very friendly. Such a chill spot and I loved how many options they had for chowder and sandwiches. It's definitely not a cheap eat but it tasted good.

I have to say I absolutely love clam chowwwwder! I got the sampler that came with 4 of their soups and a side of sourdough bread. I was super full and had a tough time finishing this, perfect for sharing and having a taste of everything, and a MUST when in the area. Very limited seating, but I would just get this to go and sit by the pier to enjoy the views of the ferry boats, people-watching, and the city skyline (plenty of seating just a block away!). I enjoyed the Smoked Salmon and the New England Chowder the most.

    Original Dungeness Crab Roll

This lobster roll is absolute perfection. The brioche bun is buttery and crisp, the lobster they give you is a decent amount and good ration compared to the bun. Both the dungeness crab roll and lobster crab roll are excellent. The inside is small and there is little seating but they also have some seating on the outside. The staff is nice and they have people on the outside of the restaurant to help manage the long lines. They also offer an order online option that is extremely fast. Out order was ready within 5 min. This is definitely a must try in Seattle

Every time I'm in Seattle, I make sure to stop by Pike Place Chowder for happy hour (4:00-6:00 PM daily) at Pacific Place Center. My 'must-order' is the Chowder Fries. They are essentially nacho fries, but smothered in thick clam chowder instead of cheese. It works surprisingly well--the combination is creamy, gooey, and crispy, with a fantastic mouthfeel. Although the portions seem to have gotten a bit smaller since my last visit, they are still an essential order if you're in the area.

Great clam chowder and other soups to try! Heads up, the line can be very long. Highly recommend ordering online since it would be a lot faster to get your meal. I had their seafood bisque (tomato soup) and it was pretty good! The soup was flavorful and savory. It came with a slice of bread. I wished the bread was more easy to rip/chew. But the bread and soup definitely went nicely together. They have a four sampler option if you want to try multiple soups for a good deal. The service was good. Staff were nice and the soup was quick to be prepared since they already had it made. The ambiance was okay. Inside is a bit small and seating is limited and can be packed. There's also seating outside.

Good spot for chowder, but way too salty for my taste. Ambience (4/5): Bustling market location with lots of energy, though seating is limited. Food (3/5): Chowder is hearty and creamy, but the salt level overwhelms the flavor. Value (3/5): Portions are fair for the price, but not worth it if you can't finish due to saltiness. Service (4/5): Friendly staff keep things moving quickly despite long lines.

We stopped at this location in the mall and it was terrific! They also have another location outside the mall. The chowder was great and full of meat. The lobster roll was also super fresh and full of flavor. If you're looking for some tasty seafood and the go, this is a great option.

I am not going to lie, I was in a super not good mood when my husband made me walk here from our hotel 1.5 miles away... lol. A friend had told us to go here so he was determined. We ordered the chowder sampler on the online system, waited about 15 mins and took it to go. The line was stupid long so I'm glad we did it this way. I am a chowder fan but I only liked 2 of the 4. I'm sure I'm a rarity but it wasn't my favorite chowder place. They did take care of us quickly though and my husband was a fan of 3 out of 4.

While in Seattle, I feel you should eat seafood. This place is snuggled in an alley in Pike Place Market. The lobster roll here is pretty good. Be prepared as they are not cheap but that's usually how it is when lobster rolls are included. I did not try to clam chowder but this is a very popular place for it.

Will you be open July 4th day?

Do they sell their clam chowder in cans at the restaurant?

I did not notice any at the Pacific Place Center location.

Are dogs allowed in the outdoor seating area?

Not sure if officially, but I have seen plenty of people outside with them before.

She had wanted to visit for a long time after hearing so many good things about it, so this was the perfect opportunity. The café itself is bright, modern, and absolutely adorable. It has a cozy, inviting atmosphere that makes it a great place to relax over dessert with family or friends. The menu is a dream for matcha and hojicha lovers. They offer an impressive variety of parfaits, floats, frappes, and lattes, with optional additions like mochi and red beans. It took us a while to decide because everything looked tempting. My daughter and I shared the Hojicha Mochi Parfait, while my son ordered the Hojicha Float with mochi. The parfait had a rich, authentic hojicha flavor and was generously layered with chewy mochi, crunchy cereal flakes, and creamy soft serve, giving it a wonderful mix of textures. The float was equally enjoyable, with a bold roasted hojicha flavor that wasn't overly sweet, and the mochi was a fun addition. The quality of the desserts was excellent, and while the prices are on the higher side, they reflect the quality of the ingredients and presentation. If you're a fan of matcha or hojicha, this is definitely a place worth visiting.

This is a sushi by the pound place in SLU, but they also have a menu with variety of things such as udon, inari, chirashi, etc. The selection of fish you can choose from in the weigh your sushi section is not that big. They only have 2 high premium fishes available: otoro and amberjack. However you can only get 1 of each, which to me defeats the purpose. I also got a bulgogi inari and it was $5 / piece which is pricey. Another thing is that they use a lot of rice, too much rice. Service is ok, they ring you up and bring the food to you if you ordered through the menu. It's a very relaxing and chill area as well. We walked into a casual, compact space with a mix of counter and table seating that fits the quick ramen shop style. The interior is efficient and well organized, though it can get extremely busy, and the wait times are often one of the biggest parts of the experience, especially during peak hours. Once seated, the space feels functional and comfortable, designed around getting a bowl of ramen in front of you without unnecessary distractions. The ramen is built around rich tonkotsu broth with a lot of customization options. We appreciated the ability to adjust things like noodle firmness, richness, and spice level, which made each bowl feel more personalized. The regular tonkotsu ramen stood out for its deep umami flavor without feeling overly heavy, and the noodles had a great texture that held up well against the broth. The vegan options also stand out, including miso-based bowls with flavorful broths that give non-pork options more depth than many ramen shops offer. The toppings are generous, and the soft-boiled egg was cooked to that perfect jammy consistency. Beyond ramen, the menu has a few sides that complement the meal well, including gyoza that came out crisp and well filled. We also grabbed mochi ice cream for something sweet afterward, a light finish after the rich broth. The seasonal ramen options are worth checking out since they add variety beyond the standard bowls, giving regular visitors a reason to come back and try something new. Service is generally quick and friendly, especially considering how busy the restaurant gets. The ordering system is straightforward, and the staff handles the constant flow of customers efficiently. The team kept the pace moving without making the experience feel rushed, and they were attentive to refilling water and checking in on the table. The biggest downside is the popularity, since the lines can sometimes feel long for a relatively quick meal, but the wait tends to move faster than expected given the efficient turnover. Ramen Danbo is a reliable spot for a satisfying bowl of ramen in Seattle. The customizable bowls, strong broth, and consistent noodle quality make it a place worth visiting, although planning around busy hours can make the experience much better. The balance of customization and quality means you can dial in your bowl exactly how you like it, and the focused approach to the menu keeps the attention where it belongs.
