Came to Pike Place Chowder on a cold and rainy day where I woke up and had the immediate craving for chowder. I immediately knew that Pike Place was the place to go. The line was not long at all and the staff working were in great spirits and were very informative on the selection. We ordered the 4 chowder sampler including the New England chowder, salmon chowder, oyster clam and chorizo chowder, and the seafood bisque. I am a sucker for the New England chowder and it was my favorite of the four. It always has never failed to be packed full of flavor, perfect creaminess, and delicious clams. It could use more clams but I don't think that I could ever have too many clams. The immediate seating area was full but there are tables in the alleyway that were free and sheltered from the rain and was perfect for the chowder. It also came with a small piece of bread and a few packets of oyster crackers. Both were very welcome additions to the meal. Highly recommend checking it out when at the Market. read more

Super casual, modest, small eatery with plastic tables and chairs and a limited bar seating area. They do offer additional seating across the walkway. It's self-service. You wait in line to order and pay for your food then they hand your food to you right there and then. You find a spot to sit and then enjoy your meal. While in line, I can't help but notice that you cannot reserve a table prior to placing your order (which is fair). There was a staff policing the area and will not hesitate to boot you off. LOL! But not to worry, this same person was also the one who'd help you find a table. We totally enjoyed the delicious New England clam chowder and Connecticut-style lobster roll. My only regret was... Although this spot is quite touristy, trying chowder in Seattle is a must. I recommend placing an online order for pickup to skip the long line. My brother and I shared the 4-cup chowder sampler and a lobster roll. We loved 2 out of the 4 chowders, though we can't recall their names. It's located on the 4th floor the building and is a very small stall so I recommend take out as there are only a few tables. Parking for me was easy. Visited Seattle with my fiancé and stopped in for a clam chowder bread bowl and fish and chips. The staff were kind and accommodating, wiped the table down for us. We snagged a small table for two outside the storefront. Best fish and chips I've had in a long time, if not ever. As a former new Englander, I can say that it was good. It was really creamy but had a tad too much salt. It is served with a slice of sour dough bread. We split a Caesar salad which was good and served with croutons on the side. The dressing was Ken's Caesar which was good, but a bit too commercial. The seating area has 9 tables with a sign on each one saying that you can't hold the table. This is not good when it is very crowded. The guys behind the counter were very nice and helpful. **April 2024: Weekday Late Morning Visit** It's a cold, wet dreay day in Seattle and what better way to finish a trip to the rain city than by warming up to a a hot cup of Seattle's finest Clam Chowder. this particular shop has won tons of awards and for good reason. I came early around 1030ish before it open and decided to walk around. Noob mistake #1, if you're there early, just start to line up. When I came back at 10:55am there was a line winding inside the building. I think I was probably 60 in line or something. Thankfully the line moved relatively quickly and I was able to get my cup within 15 minutes or so. There are a lot options to choose from but the OG award winning New England style was a hit and I wouldn't mind eating that again and again. Seating does fill up quickly, but I didn't mind standing and enjoying the soup. It's definitely a tourist trap, but I think it's well worth a visit! read more

We went with the 4 soup sampler to split with my boyfriend. Plenty of soup to go around. We enjoyed the dish and would not hesitate to come back! Hot tip: while we wanted to sit and eat the soup, the line for indoor eating was waaaaay too long. And I feel like it might even be cheaper per oz than ordering some of the chowders individually. We ended up getting two New England Clam Chowder, a Seafood Bisque and a Market Chowder.
