The food and pie were really really good but I'm giving the restaurant a two star because staff weren't that friendly or attentive. Two of our four meals came out cold and had to be taken back to be warmed up. It was a busy Sunday so the service could be chalked up to being busy and tired. We visited Williams from Chandler and heard great things about this place for breakfast. We were not disappointed!!! I had the huevos rancheros. I cook all fresh green chili pork, salsas, beans, and all Mexican food in general and this was amazing! Fresh green chili pork was flavorful and tender, the beans were whole with a wonderful taste and chew. The salsa was appropriately spicy and fresh. My huns had the chicken fried steak which was so tender and had a great batter on it. Fried perfectly and could cut it with a fork. We will be back every time we head up to Williams. Pie! Pie! Pie! I love to stop in Williams when we are going on any road trips around the area. It's such a great little town. Pine County Restaurant is full of homemade goodness. This trip was just about the pie! Yay! The coconut Italian soda was amazing and the coconut flavor was like tasting a tropical island. The ice was a perfect addition. It took the Italian soda over the top. The pie case is just amazing and beautiful! They really outdo themselves with so many options. They give the biggest slices and the prices are super reasonable. The pies are incredible. The banana cream pie had pieces of banana and even the cream part was banana flavor. The coconut cream pie was great also. Not overly sweet-just perfect. The lemon meringue was amazing! The meringue was sky high and the lemon super tart. Yum! The German chocolate was good. Can't say too much about it as it wasn't my pick and I only took a small bite. Sorry not big into chocolate pies. It was beautiful though. My favorite had to be the apple, peach, cherry pie. The homemade crust was so flaky and delicious. I've given this place 3 tries because it's local & I support local businesses 9/10 times whenever possible. I've given up, I go here & get lackluster service EVERY TIME. I get being short staffed, but they don't seem to be. We had an unfriendly waitress (older Hispanic heavyset lady) who never came back to the table. I had to go find someone to get a refill on our drinks. This place apparently has gone downhill it seems, I don't think I will giving it a 4th try. I wish them luck & hope maybe they get better staffed with some genuinely happy servers. read more

We bought a dutch apple pie after the train ride to the grand canyon. We waited 15 minutes for it and was given this. The crust was undercooked and I called to ask if I should bake it and was told 375 for 15 to 20 minutes and did that. The crust was super dry and the top was just brown sugar and flour..the apples were canned and a total waste of 31 dollars! Took 20 mins to get a table, they have a text system in case you want to walk around town, once seated the staff was very attentive and taking our orders. Went with their Country Fried Steak and Eggs, had my eggs scrambled with mash potatoes and a slice of sourdough bread. It was simply delicious, every bite was wonderful. For dessert I went with both Dutch Apple Pie and Homemade Cinnamon Roll, I shared of course, and both was absolutely great. First time here and we give it a 10/10 Hunny had the toast beef and he devoured it. This is a guy who had roast dinners every Sunday. I had the ribs and the meat just fell off the bone. Hands down the best fries I've had in Arizona. Perfectly seasoned with a great crunch. Service was fast and extremely friendly. We finished off with the most incredible banana cream pie. Our server in training Dylan provided excellent service on a busy Saturday night. The resturant was mostly filled yet our food was delivered quickly and hot. I enjoyed a diner standard of Chicken Fried Steak with Mashed Potatoes both covered with tasty gravy and a nice portion of mixed vegetables. Now the most important part of this review. The dessert selections are almost overwhelming which is to your benefit. I choose a piece of Coconut Cream pie to go, that provided me with a bedtime snack and breakfast. We were staying at the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel and looked for a place close since we didn't want to drive. We found town was in walking distance and decided on Pine Country Restaurant for the comfort food choices. We decided on the pot roast and fried chicken. They both came with mashed and veggies. The fried chicken was good-4 small pieces with good crunchy crust. The Roast Beef-pot roast style was even better. Tender, juicy beef was shredded and delicious. Mashed potatoes were good. Veggies-corn and carrots were wet and soft without the flavor of the vegetable like they were frozen or boiled. Everyone online mentioned the homemade pies. We took home a piece of apple pie and one pumpkin delight. We didn't like either one. My husband loves apple pie but didn't like this. The pumpkin delight had a pumpkin layer with what turned out to be a whipped topping-ish layer. I had one bite and that was that. We would definitely go back to Pine Country Restaurant. So we came here my wife and my mom both ordered breakfast and I wanted to order a lunch that was an open faced sandwich with roast beef but the server said they are only doing breakfast at this time which I said OK even though it's 1130 or breakfast so I ordered the huevos rancheros breakfast, then we only waited maybe 3 to 5 minutes and our food was at our table which was like a little too quick the potatoes on their plate look they little overly cooked mine look like a bowl of beans with an egg on top and our server look like she was either sick or hung over from the night before. So I said OK it's not that bad the food is OK considering but let's try the pie so we asked for the strawberry banana pie thinking this part is going to be great because of all the reviews. Well, then our server came over and said they don't have that pie, I was like OK how about peach pie? She said yeah we should have that one so she brought us over a slice of peach pie to try just so I can make my review. Honestly it was just OK. I've had a lot of peach pies and thinking this pie was should blow them out of the water.
