Pine State is a must visit! During my visit in September 2021, they only had patio seating. They enforce the no seating until after you order which was nice to those waiting patiently in line. Strawberry lavender pop tart - Light lavender taste in the pop tart with a strawberry purée. The pastry was flaky, delicious, and warm. This pop tart could definitely be a permanent item. The hash browns were big enough for two people and was crunchy and well seasoned. They were also light and fluffy. The Reggie deluxe comes with an egg. First off, the chicken was super juicy and crunchy. The gravy was rich and flavorful and the best gravy I've had! A Portland classic serving up buttery biscuit creations! Beware that the line gets VERY long on a weekend, especially Sunday -- we were waiting for ~1.5 hours to get seated since it's fairly slow-moving. I'd recommend grabbing takeout if possible! All things considered, though, the servers were really sweet and the food tasty too! I appreciate that they had vegetarian substitutes as well! IDK if it's worth *all* the hype, but definitely worth stopping by if you have the time. I got the Veggie Reggie with the mushroom gravy and it was so filling and tasty. There are some variations you can choose, but I got it with fried chicken and ranch. Not a huge ranch lover, but this was incredible! Dilly, buttermilky, and the perfect sauzz for this sammy. Chicken was crunchy and juicy, bacon was nice an crisp, biscuit was fluffy, lettuce and tomato to round it all out. I think they forgot the apple butter or didn't put enough because I didn't taste any of it. The egg was cooked perfectly though and seasoned very well. It was actually my favorite part of the sandwich. The biscuit tasted dry because they may have forgotten my apple butter. Also ordered a plain biscuit with a side of strawberry jam. The biscuit was fluffy and warm. I was expecting a more buttery flavor but it kind of just tasted like dough? It wasn't horrible at all though, just didnt awe me. Paired well with the jam and butter. Blueberry basil poptart. Of the 3 items we got, this was my favorite! It was flaky, not too sweet and delicious warm. The crumble on top was so good. Overall I only thought the biscuits were good but I was expecting more based on the reviews. I've definitely had way better, especially from biscuit bitch in Seattle. Omg those are definitely the best biscuits IMO. Waited about 25 minutes in line (the line went outside). Situated ourselves cozy closest to the open door to the patio, which was unfortunately full. After about 5 minutes, I was asked to move to another table where a tiny two person table was shoved at the end of the row smooshed up against a party of 6. They said it was because they had a party of 3 coming and needed two tables. 5 minutes past, another two party table sat there... this was inconvenient and didn't really demonstrate a customer first priority. Food itself was ok. The beignets were the best part of our meal by far - crispy on the outside and soft fluffy dough on the inside. The hash ups were nothing special. The moneyball was was rated a 3/5 from my other half. The portions were more than enough. This restaurant was at the corner of a very hip area. The line was very long when we arrived at 1:30pm. I think we waited for about an hour to be seated. It is a very cozy restaurant, at most there were about 6 or 7 tables and a bar table to be seat inside. There are also patio seatings but it was rather hot that day. We did not wanted to be seated outside especially with a toddler. Finally go to the register to order some food. We order their famous chicken biscuits. And it was definitely delicious. We ordered our food to go so that we could have a picnic brunch at the park and it was the perfect meal! Food was still piping hot about 20 minutes after picking it up. We got The Reggie Deluxe, The Essential and hash browns. The Reggie Deluxe was perfect! The gravy delicious and thick and the fried chicken was so tender and juicy. I think my favorite part of the dish was that there really wasn't a star of the sandwich, every part of it came together to create the perfect bite, bite after bite. The Essential seems to be a special off menu item as an honor to essential workers. It's a good sandwich and it's very tasty but just a reminder, it's steak. So sometimes when you're biting into it, it's not a clean bite and you'll need to chew a bit depending on how sinewy the piece of meat is. That being said, the steak is extremely soft and flavorful. This place is so good! I really enjoyed the biscuits, they were super soft and decadent. The biscuit itself was really soft, but not as melty and buttery as I would like it to be. The meat was also a bit on the dry side but it was pretty good otherwise. The caramelized onions were also super good and it all came together to form a good breakfast sandwich. The two factors that made me tick off the star was the price and the mustard sauce. It was around 11 dollars per biscuit sandwich which was a little inflated, and the mustard sauce was a bit spicy which was a weird flavor profile for me. The hype is real with this place! We came in with high expectations and left completely satisfied with the food and service. Highly recommend trying the biscuit sandwiches but don't underestimate the plain biscuit and gravy either. Showed up at about one 145 which was 15 minutes before close. It was not too busy and still had a number of open tables. I ordered the Reggie with sausage gravy. Staff treated me with a smile and made no mention of them closing in 15 minutes, which was nice that they weren't pressuring me from the start . It did however take 30 minutes to get my food. Oh well, kind of understandable, considering it was close to close and a few of the staff were trying to get the kitchen cleaned up.. the taste of the food made the wait worth it. The biscuit was fluffy, buttery and rich. The chicken was crisp juicy, and the breading stuck very well to the chicken. The sausage gravy was on point.. The sausage was great, not overly peppery and creamy. The bacon was thick and crisp. I'll give it at 9 out of 10. One point off because of the wait.
