LARGE PARTY BOWLING EXPERIENCE What happened to this place? Honestly, my experience yesterday was so bad that I legit thought I was on a reality tv show and at any moment someone was going to JUMP out and say "GOTCHA"..... And it's not just an isolated incidence- my last few visits have been horrid but yesterday's was just the icing on the cake. I called them to reserve two lanes in the morning and they said that I can reserve one via the website. They told me the pricing and I said great. I proceed to reserve them and they charge me a different amount. I get to the alley and explain what happened and they came up with 48738743 reasons as to why the price changed followed by "oh it happens sometimes." Um, no, it doesn't. If you are going to have a price discrepancy then post a disclaimer, don't be so shady. They did not refund that amount and instead gave me a gift card---like no thanks, I don't ever want to come back. Regardless, I agreed because I could just use it towards shoes for the day and let it be. I then asked if I could get an additional lane to which they said they would have to give me the walk in pricing. Even though I had clearly reserved the other lane prior--- they could have just added it under that reservation, but clearly they know NOTHING about customer service. Meanwhile, as all the above was happening, the employee (who clearly just got hired) was discussing everything with the "manager" right in front of me. The manager kept telling the employee to tell me that I am lying -- RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. Like I am standing right there, you can address me if you have any concerns. I felt so awkward that I had to interpret and speak with him directly. They then set up our-lanes and I said I would like to alternate players thought the two hours- that was evidently impossible because I had to go to the front desk every single time. Not happening. Pretty much no one knows what is happening. FOOD/DRINKS EXPERIENCE (Clearly this is more for Jerry's deli since they supply the food and alcohol but it's still important to keep in mind if you are going bowling or hosting a party) After ordering alcohol for everyone the server told me she would come to ID everyone before serving. She didn't. Clearly we are all of age- but this should concern A LOT OF people. How are you not going to ID young adults? ABSURD. I asked for a pitcher of water and the waitress said they don't do that and can only bring bottles. I hate wasting plastic, especially since they do not recycle. I soon realized I had no other choice and agreed. A few minutes later we ordered some food and I asked again about water and she said of course she can bring a pitcher? But 5 min prior she said it was not a possible.... Listen, I spent almost half a grand in an hour--- how are you guys going to treat a guest like this. NEVER AGAIN. EVER. This place is nothing but a run down bowling alley with horrible customer service and inflated prices. read more

Stopped in to get a quick snack while my husband had a meeting in the adjoining Jerry's Deli!!!!! Even though I didn't bowl, I was able to sit and relax while waiting on my husband! I ordered a grill cheese sandwich, with bacon and French Fries! Heavenly!! The food is so good!! Very clean bowling alley! One of the cleanest I have ever been too! There is an arcade!! There is something here for the entire family!!! Friendly staff and they are very accommodating!! Love this place!!!! Many sitting areas!! There is also a room you can rent for parties! Whoever is running this bowling alley is clearly not paying attention to the upkeep or basic operations like the 'get started' experience. Getting started, even with a reservation, you're directed to what appears to be a high end club bouncer line, only to watch 3-5 staff so literally anything other than check customers in. Read on to see what they may have been distracted with, since this business is rife with issues. During our nearly three hour group experience across four lanes, we had over 45 minutes where no one could figure out how to actually start the lanes (and only on the third trip to the front desk would someone actually come down and help our group get going), one lane where the keypad thar should be working to start the lane failed (so we had to send all our players to the desk to be setup for scoring), multiple pin drops on setup, and two separate occasions where the lanes stopped working and no staff responded to the lane help call. We finally just left, rather than deal with the frustration (which management appears to hoping you'll forget about since you're drinking) for what is clearly a sub-par establishment. Expectations that you'll have a decent bowling experience on the Boulevard should be tempered, and if you are looking for a group experience or party, this is not the place you are looking for. read more

-Atmosphere, Service & Parking-- Pinz is a solid choice for some bowling in the area. Somewhat modern for the current times and nice looking but not overly done. There's 32 lanes or so, a nice sized arcade with an array of games, and their prices are comparable to other places. Nice service overall with grabbing lanes and fixing any issues, people coming by to clean up and for food/beverage service with the call of a button. Pinz is attached to the Jerry's Deli, so if you'd like to grab drinks or food it's with ease, and with the high prices of Jerry's. There's a nice sized lot to park in with a good amount of space. ---Food, Drinks, & Prices--- While bowling you're able to have food and drinks delivered to you through the menu option at your lane or before and after you bowl. I think the bowling menu is a bit different then the menu inside though. I had a great time with friends for my sons bday. The reason for the bad review- I prepaid for 3 lanes $450 then $45 PROCESSING FEE... lol ok.... Get there.... Yah that's $120 for shoes now... oh it wasn't included in the $500 bucks okkkkkk.... Then had to get some shoes replaced since they were FALLING APART lol.... Then $200 plus bucks for food.... I organized a work party here and they were very easy to work with! Shout out to Devin. She was very patient with us and was always available via phone or email when we had questions about our event. The worst service ever ,we wanted to return food the kids didn't like, the manger came to us saying is the best we will find in town, and refused to refund our money. The sad thing it was for a dish of maybe $8, for a manager, for such a big place ,to let a customer leave with a feeling like that, that his concern is not met, it was sad. Horrible customer service! The customer service (or lack thereof) was forefront in our less than desirable encounter. The employee who served us was abrupt, dismissive and really couldn't have been less helpful. Unlike with other bowling alleys you're pretty much stuck with whatever balls happen to be already on your lane (unless it's dead and you can snatch them from other empty spots). It's a bit pathetic as you're given no other options. This can be a big problem (and was in our case) if you chose to visit with little ones and they have no choice but to use balls that may not suit them. Overall it was a pretty bad experience. Probably, in all honesty, my worst ever in a bowling alley. I wouldn't return. Nor would I recommend others to. read more

my friend jenna was not feeling very good when we first got to pinz (existential crisis) but by game three she seemed to be doing a lot better. i also think it's worth mentioning that she was holding her bowling ball correctly the entire time and even though she lost every game she didn't kill herself once. overall, i would give my friend jenna five stars. read more

I took my visiting granddaughter and her friend out on Sunday for some bowling fun to Pinz in Studio City. I asked the guy behind the desk for a lane for 2 and he told me it was $79 for one hour of bowling. I know we are just coming out of a pandemic but this is outrageous. If she had not come from out of town I would have just walked out. Looking to have some family fun? Skip the bowling center and go somewhere else. read more

I do like the easy location, convenient bowling and many lanes open. I like how all the bowling balls are already in the lane. The place is clean, organized, big arcade area, and plenty of parking. The bowing cost is a bit higher than I am used to for sure. The only negative I have is the drinks were over priced, small, and applied a surcharge. We spent around $88 for four drinks. We ordered beers, juices, but when it came to water our waiter was stressed out. He said that the general manager prohibits them from serving water to people who are not buying food. To make it clear, I spend $90 on bowling and $48 on drinks. How cheap is the management/ownership to put in place a limitation on water??? Otherwise the place offers great entertainment for kids. Came here last night with my co-workers for a party. There were 13 of us. The food came from Jerry's deli and consisted of Pizza, chicken nuggets, mozzarella sticks, wings, and chips and salsa. All fatty and bland. I didn't try everything because I don't really eat that unhealthy stuff. The drink came to me half full, and was a strong lemon drop with grey goose, enough for me to get buzzed. My bowling slightly improved at that point. LOL. Service was friendly, and at 7 they turned on the disco lights. We played for 2 hours, all had a good time. Parking lot wasn't that full at 5:30 when we got there.Bathroom inside Jerry's deli had no toilet paper and the seat covers were dangling from the handicapped bar(not a good sign) All in all it was a fun night though. read more

I saw some really terrible reviews so I was nervous, but it was a rainy day in LA, my parents were in town, and no other bowling alleys opened until 4pm so we took the risk. We ended up having the best time and the folks who worked at Pinz were super sweet and attentive. Bowling is one of my favorite pasttimes, but this place is one you could easily avoid! Parking is huge, and for a Saturday night, it was not very busy on Father's Day, so we did not have a wait time for a lane. My boyfriend hurt his ankle, and it was wrapped inside of his shoe, so we asked the counter if it was okay if he could play with his own shoes, and instead of accommodating to customers needs, they made our night the worst! Their main security guard, Alex, needs to get rid of! He towers over everybody and thinks he's managing a nightclub. He wandered over to our lane and rudely told my boyfriend he has to wear the bowling shoes or we can't bowl, after trying to explain them about his injury, they demanded medical papers??! Really?! Who thinks of bringing medical papers for an ankle injury to bowl comfortably for an hour. They made my boyfriend so stressed out, that he eventually had to change but he was limping on every movement, and the staff kept sending more security to watch our lane, as if we weren't following any of the rules. - - we complained to the front desk, and they told us to call the general manager and complain, which we will be doing. They also had the audacity to announce over the loudspeaker that anybody who isn't wearing bowling shoes, that their lane will be automatically shut off and we will be asked to leave. Ridiculous place, other bowling places are not this adamant on wearing their shoes. Besides, the shoes make you slip around, don't have a tight grip and you might just leave this place with a loss. Also we pressed the SOS button many times to order a round of beers and the workers seemed to be avoiding our table. We will not be back, for as long as that rude security guard who thinks he has authority is working there. Thanks for making our night painful. read more

We had a birthday party for my daughter a couple weeks ago and she, along with everyone else, had a blast! The staff was amazing and their attention to detail was impressive. They went out of their way to make sure all the guests and the birthday girl were having a great time and addressed anything that was needed. Reese, who was our designated party host, went above and beyond. She was absolutely amazing, extremely attentive and constantly informing us of any updates and/or changes. They made a mistake on the cake order and corrected it right away as well as provided trays of free desserts for us all to enjoy. Scenic... cool bumber rails for kids and those who need it... Good mixed crowd (in age and diversity) It was unbearably hot in this place the entire time even when we asked to have the fan put on... and a little over priced (drinks and food especially). We were a group of 10 so that seemed like the best deal for bowling and we had a fun time overall minus the fact the heat exhausted us especially after two games (drenched from the moment we sat to finish)... not sure if the a/c is strong enough or even working in this place... Service wasn't/isn't bad just mediocre.... couldn't find staff most of the time we were there... Management does seem to be a bit aggressive with large parties, events and groups... however all the regular staff is very friendly, sweet and helpful, yet rarely around (take breaks/frequent shift changes or venture off) at least today... This is the coolest bowling alley I've ever been to! Very clean and nice friendly staff. We went on a Thursday around 3 before leagues showed up. Plenty of space and bowling balls. I love the dual size bowling balls with 2 different finger size to choose, great idea. The arcade area has great games. I would also go there just for that. All around this place is a complete winner!!! We did not order any food as we had just came from a late lunch. Plenty of parking. We got to choose the land we wanted as they accommodated that too. I bought too much bowling, and within two or three seconds of my transaction, after they explained that it would take a long time for me to play the number of games I bought with the children I was with (I'm new to bowling), I asked if I can get a refund for one of the games. They played 'gotcha,' with my money and refused a refund. I had literally completed the transaction moments before I realized my mistake. They pointed to their no refund policy and offered me bowling alley credit. What are the odds I want to come back to this place? None. Hit me up if you want to credit to this shitty, shitty place. Great bowling ally. In my past experiences, this is the best bowling ally in the Los Angeles. I come here all the time and I have had a splendid time each time. Let's talk about pricing. Most bowling allies in the city are priced at about $6 or $7 a game per person, on top of shoe rentals! At Pinz, it is only $3 per game, plus $3 for shoe rentals. When I have a big group of people going bowing with me, I usually choose this place, over the one in Santa Monica or Mar Vista, even though they are much closer. Pinz is usually never completely filled up. They have a lot of birthday parties here so it can get pretty loud sometimes. One time, it was getting really out of hand and the employees offered to move us to the other side. In Santa Monica when we requested that they said we had to finish our game first. A cool thing about Pinz is all the decorations that they have around the building. They have a bunch of bowling statues, as well as cool and colorful lights all around. On the wall, there is a long mural of Los Angeles and TVs playing cool music videos. I recommend coming here over the other bowling places around. It is worth the extra few miles! read more

We cane here with my sons classmates and my mom friends and we had a great time. I love how you can order food from Jerry's Famous Deli and it gets delivered to the lane where you are bowling . My son had a blast. The arcade was great as well although I wish they could do the games based on time so we would not have to keep refilling our playing cards. Nabil and the entire team at Pinz did an incredible job with our party. We came on a Friday night with 20ish adults. He did a great job with the preplanning help - helped us pick the correct number of lanes, food and drinks. The night of, the staff did an incredible job making us all feel welcome and making sure the night ran smoothly. It was one of the best celebrations I have planned for this group and everyone had an incredible time. I highly recommend the mac & cheese bites, the sliders and the s'mores pizza! YELP 100 CHALLENGE 2017 (29/100) So long story short.... This place is a very nice place to go hang out and have drinks and play bowling and pool... I always have a great time here every time I come with family and friends. Others would probably rate this place 5 stars and I almost did till last night. We bowled a couple games and had a couple to much drinks!!! After $500 worth of drinks and a $200 tip they didn't wanna serve a family member of mine anymore. Was a big problem. MANAGEMENT DO NOT KNOW HOW TO HAMDLE THINGS HERE.. VERY PUSHY AND DISRESPECTFUL!!! They need to get more professional like managers here to solve situations like this. One of the coolest bowling places in LA, especially after 10pm when everything is glow in the dark

Where do I begin, the manager needs some training in customer service and speaking to people properly. When we first came in we needed to change some bowling shoes, had already paid, but rudely told us to wait while he took another customer. Then proceeds to be obnoxious and ask what size the shoes are in his hands that he can look at the back of and see. Kids were having a good time, we ordered some food from our lane which happened to be on happy hour. Pizzas were $5.00 from 4-7pm so we got two of them. Got the bill and each one was $17.99, so we called the manager over and once again rudely argued with us that we ordered the larger pizza and those are $17.99 each. The ordering option doesnt give you a size option and I explained that to him. He still continued his argument and then decided to take note that one of the kids had a water bottle. His focus turned to now we had an outside beverage and needed to get rid of it. We poured out the water and showed him but that wasn't enough, he went to the security person and had him check to see if we took it back to our car. I mean petty. Came back to let us know in unfriendly tone that he credited us for both pizzas, are we happy now? No we just liked to have been treated respectfully and maybe notify corporate that the signs and app don't coincide for happy hour. In the end horrible experience, will never step foot in there again, oh and we never got the credit back for the 2 pizzas. read more
