First time here & personally I enjoyed it. Their menu has a good selection of food and drinks. All employees were very helpful & attentive. Ambiance here was great, went with a group of friends and we all enjoyed ourselves.
The food was bland, and the pizza was cold and honestly terrible. I asked if something had changed, and I was told that the chef is no longer there. Yet they are still advertising his menu on their website. If the chef is no longer there and the menu is no longer representative of what customers are actually receiving, that seems like false or, at the very least, misleading advertising. As I read through more recent reviews, I noticed other concerning issues as well. One reviewer specifically mentioned that the prices advertised online were different from the prices they were charged in person, and also described the staff as rude. I also noticed that many of the business responses to reviewers seem to be from a bot. If you've been to Pinz, you know what Craig looks like. He can also be found on Instagram, so some of the online presentation raises questions about how accurately this place is representing itself and its current operation. Overall, the experience felt completely different from what is being advertised online. Between the outdated chef/menu advertising, reported discrepancies between online and in-person pricing, rude customer service. I would strongly recommend looking at the most accurate reviews by actual customers not employees before spending your money here.
I came here for a private event that covered bowling, shoe rental and snacks. The snacks were great and included: chicken strips, veggies and dip, pizza, pretzels, sliders and more. There was also soda and lemonade in punch dispensers. Shoes: I wear an 8.5 but that bowling shoe size was a bit big. When finished, you drop your shoes off under the neon drop off sign. House balls and lanes: I have my own equipment but used the alleys stuff. The lanes were in good condition and you can program the lane to pop up the bumpers for a specific bowler. While I didn't hang out in the dinning area, it looked lovely and seemed that people would visit the center just to hang out and eat. All the employees seemed really busy since the event brought hundreds of people. It was a great day of bowling. I played 5 games and left exhausted.
Took my girlfriend here to play bowling! Service is alright and the food is probably alright as well. We came to this place mainly to bowl so that was our experience and the ambiance is very lit up and happy! Thank you team we had fun!
Was recommended here by a co-worker after mentioning I wanted to go bowling. Definitely coming again! There's a lot of alleys available and lots of space within each one to not feel so crowded. We came on a Sunday night and was surprisingly not busy. The bar area has lots of seating around two pool tables. Not sure if this place has been recently remodeled but everything looks very new and hardly used. Arcade area is rather small but who goes to a bowling alley for the arcade! Only thing I didn't like was that there is already silverware and plates at each table and who knows how long they've sat there being touched by other people! The silverware are placed in a box and when my co-worker grabbed one, it was dirty. Definitely not something you want to see right before you are about to dig in to your food! Our bar tender was really nice and quick with the drinks but once we sat down at a booth the waiter seemed overwhelmed assisting us and the two other tables there. One of our co-workers had to get up and grab our drinks from the bar since they were just sitting there. The runner who came with our food responded to us with "Oh, you have to ask the waiter. I'm only the runner." when asked for additional clean silverware. Which I understand, might not be his job but he could've worded it differently instead of basically saying "Not my job." Overall a cool hangout spot but their service and silverware/plate arrangements could be better.
I am only reviewing the "Kitchen + Bar" aspect of Pinz...but if I ever bowl here, I will certainly update. The restaurant here is fantastic. I was not expecting to have an amazing dining experience at a bowling alley bar/restaurant, but here we are. It's a small, aesthetically pleasing space, very '70s and groovy with mustard yellow vinyl booths and geometric patterned walls. We were there on a Monday for lunch, so it wasn't busy at all, but the waiters and the bartender delivered top-notch service: everyone was pleasant and attentive. The cocktails were fresh, curated, and Instagram influencer-worthy. I got the Hampton water rosé margarita, and I did not expect such a lovely drink. It was served in a stemless margarita glass with a salt rim and tiny little rosebuds as a garnish. How pretty, and what a pleasant surprise! And the two ingredients were perfectly married; I have had the Hampton water rosé on its own, but I never would have thought to pair it with tequila for a margarita. My companion tried the Blue Hawaiian tropical cocktail, which was also tasty. From the food menu, my companion ordered the Pinz classic smashburger with fries. He was satisfied and said it was great. Even though I felt like a giant pig, I ordered the Sweet & Spicy pizza just for me. It was PHENOMENAL. It looks super greasy, but that's not grease in the pics, it's hot honey. The sausage and pep cups were good, the burrata was good, the crust was absolutely incredible. I have eaten expensive neapolitan-style crusted pies at many LA pizzerias, and they're usually just okay because they are cooked to within an inch of their life and the crusts end up as a burned-tasting, splintery bite. Not Pinz crust. It's chewy, flavourful, and hearty - even though the hot honey and tasty marinara made the inner section of the pie slightly soggy, I didn't care. It was all incredible and I couldn't get it into my face fast enough, both at the restaurant and at home (I ate a few slices whilst at Pinz and took the rest home as leftovers, which reheated beautifully). The Pinz Bar & Kitchen was such a delightful surprise with its superb quality, presentation, and service. I can't wait to come back here to try more delicious cocktails and another variety of their incredible pizza. And I'll definitely plan to bowl first to save energy for the dining experience after.
I decided to hold my 10 year old's bowling birthday party at Pinz. I had never been there before and had some reservations, namely, that it would be a little too upscale and bougie for a fun bowling experience, or that it would be Chuck E. Cheese quality while being constantly nickled and dimed. Maybe I'm just overly cynical. Well, I was wrong. This place was great. We were greeted immediately by our event coordinator who got us situated on our lanes. The staff were extremely accommodating. They stored our ice cream cake at no charge and allowed an additional bowler we weren't expecting. And the pizza was a far cry from Chuck E. Cheese. It was the highlight for me, honestly. It just felt like at every turn, my expectations were exceeded, from the food, the staff and just the overall willingness to work with us tort the kids have a great time. I'm already looking into excuses to come back.
The staff were cool no complaints there. The prices to bowl and the price of the food for what you get isn't it. I've spent less for a more updated experience at other bowling alleys. $15 + Taxes for this...never again.
Fries are battered n . Pretzels meh. Nacho sauce I used for the fries. Buffalo cauli next time I'll ask for sauce on side bc they got soggy fast. The manager is a snack . Con: we OVERpaid bc day one some guy wouldn't honor the $20 shoe pass n we had to pay 7$ plus tax pp for one day v. that amount being used for a summer shoe pass. So CALL before u come bc ultimately they did NOT credit me for the shoes we rented at day rate. Although the manger gave us a 7$ (one person) "discount" but like what about the other shoes .

What a truly wonderful experience. Had our Christmas outing there and everything went better than expected. The staff was solid always on top of everything. Setting the reservation with Jen was so easy. The bowling was some much fun. The one thing that was truly amazing was the food. Carne asada fries. sliders and 4 pizzas that were outstanding. Really I believe my favorite pizza I have ever had. The crust was perfect with wonderful toppings. I suggest everyone go out and try the food . The chef Brett was even kind enough to talk to me for a few and I had to give him great praise for the food. A must do in studio city. You got to try the pizza.

I went to bowl there today for the first time in many years, as the cost has gone way up with the fancy new owners. I grew up going to this bowling alley, having multiple bday parties there and even participating in a bowling league there as a teen, so remember when bowling was affordable and the arcade took coins. You didn't need to load a card that itself costs money. I finally decided to bowl today because their usual crazy expensive price is reasonable at $12 for two games on Friday afternoons. I had a decent time with my friend. Two major issues: 1) I wear leg braces due to a disability and for my entire 34 years of life, I've never been made to wear bowling shoes before. I always could wear my regular shoes. Today, I was told I either wore the bowling shoes ($7) or bought $11 socks to go over my shoes. That's ridiculous. I should not have to pay more money for the option that works better for me bc of my disability (altho it may actually be worse, slippery). What a jerky thing for them to do. I went with the bowling shoes which luckily worked ok, they found a pair with no heel and that are wide enough. 2) they said they aren't allowed to put up the bumpers for people over age 12. What?!? Who gives a fuck if a teen or adult wants to use a bumper; they paid for the lane, they should be able to use one if they want. And what cost is it to the bowling alley to push a button for the bumper to come up? They dont even have to send a person to the lane to put it up like the old days. Ridiculous policy!! I honestly don't know that I will come back and bowl here again. Not many bowling alleys left, but I'm sure I can find one that isn't so needlessly strict. P.s. the food is overpriced. OLD SCHOOL COOL ! I just started bowling in the "Beer League Bowling" tournament last week and am having a blast. Don't get me wrong, I am NOT a good bowler, but it doesn't matter when everyone is having this much fun. And when I finally did get a few STRIKES, there was a big round of applause from the other teams and the staff. I don't drink alcohol, so it was great that they had delicious Near beer for me to enjoy. The whole place just feels right, like a comfy sweater on a cold night. Exactly the kind of time with friends that I needed to get my head out of all the craziness and smile again. Our team name is Chef's Kiss, so if you see our hats you'll know its us. Thanks, Pinz. We came here looking for a place with plenty of entertainment and we were not disappointed. We started off with bowling and enjoyed the ambience here. We were able to have a good time in our lane and made a couple friends beside us! After this, we then took some time for some wine and the pool table that they had behind the arcade! That was a pleasant surprise. Next, we played Ms. Pac-Man and enjoyed all the music before dining in at the restaurant they had in the area. We had pizza and beer and called it a night. Was really looking forward to a night of bowing, but consistent missteps by the staff at Pinz disrupted a night out with friends. Everything was off to a typical start: we had a reservation, signed in, got our shoes and went to our lane. Then, things took a turn. Our lane didn't turn on for ten minutes, and we had to ask the front staff to activate the lane twice. Small bump, we got over it. We start bowling, knockin' some pins, high-fiving, ordering beers, etc. During the fifth frame, a man (employee) asks to speak to the head of our party. Serious stuff. He informs us that we've been placed on the wrong lane, and we need to move. Pretty annoying, but at least they can move our score with it. We're not super pleased, but roll with it (is that a bowling pun?). We're walked to the entire other end of the bowling alley, roughly lane 24. Then told, no, we're going to move you to lane one. The least vibey lane. The one that the seats can't even reach the table where you have your fun finger foods. The one where no one actually bowls because the perspective is weird. The one where the TV's aspect ratio is so broken that you don't know what frame you're on. Okay... I guess we'll play here. After all these inconveniences, we were not offered anything, no beers ("we don't do pitchers") and no snacks. After a discussion about comped snacks, we ordered three (3) small snacks. The server checked back and confirmed that they would only comp one (1) plate of chicken tenders. TLDR; they put us on the wrong lane, forgot to start the lane, moved us after 20 minutes, moved us to the worst lane, didn't make any proactive effort to improve the experience. Just not chill. Parking was easy though. And there are some funny signed pins out front. read more

We hosted a birthday party for my six year old niece and 13 friends and their parents. Pinz is kind of an old school staple in Studio City. It has that nostalgia vibe with modern touches. We ordered the package with food and it was pretty decent. Pizza, Sliders, Fries, chicken tenders etc. Pinz has a large video arcade and a cocktail lounge. The music is old school rock which was kind of cool. Where they need to improve is the check in. It was a little disorganized. As far as the food buffet we had to ask several times to replenish the pitchers of beverages. It should have been attended to with fresh cups, light clean up etc. we were sort of on our own. However, all in all a good time was had by all and with kids events that's the bottom line. All the bad reviews are pretty irrelevant. It's a bowling alley not a 5 star hotel. read more

OK here's the deal. Pinz has been around forever and it's time for a remodel and then some. The place is dated. The video viewing screens are low quality and fuzzy. Sound system is poor and music selection is outdated. Do you think my kids care to hear or watch videos of James Brown? The bathrooms are gross and the bowling balls are beat up. But unfortunately it gets worse based on my experience today. I booked two lanes online and was charged a $14 booking fee! Can someone please explain what that is besides an obvious extra way to charge you! On their web site and check in counter it repeatedly says NO REFUNDS! When we checked in today since we were only 6 bowlers (kids) I decided that we only need one lane and not two that was booked. Guess what NO REFUNDS! Well we did need to rent the most disgusting worn out bowling shoes so we were able to apply the second lane credit. But after that we still had $30 left over. Guess what? NO REFUNDS! And not credit for another visit! The staff are not friendly or accommodating. After an hour of bowling we needed to extend our stay to finish the last game. They charge $1.00 per minute plus tax plus a 3% CA surcharge. This place is looking to charge charge charge with no customer service. read more

No. Unfortunately, we do not have darts. We do have a state-of-the-art arcade with several fun games.

Hello! Monday, Tuesday, Thursday after 4pm games are $8 per game plus $5.50 shoe rental per person. Wednesday after 4pm games are $16 plus $5.50 shoe rental per person. Friday after 4pm games are $11 plus $5.50 shoe rental per person. Come bowl!
Hello! Are patrons permitted to bring their own bowling shoes or will they be forced to rent shoes that have been worn by tons of other people?
Hello! You can bring your own, but they just be regulation bowling shoes. Sneakers and tennis shoes are not acceptable. Thanks!
