    Loaded Fries with Chicken Shwarma
    Lanier D.

This review is late but since my wife and I have originally eaten here we have dined here at least 3 more times. In the past we tried the place when it was Evan Steakhouse and feel like this rebrand is perfect. We had been considering going here for months and finally gave it a try in March. We are now addicted. We were waited on by Shehed and she was nice and attentive. The first time we ate here I had the Falafel bowl, and my wife had the Chicken Shawarma bowl with brown rice. The quality of the ingredients and the portion size is a real value. There are other Mediterranean restaurants in the area and Pita Bar + Grill checks all of the boxes and is a gem. The food is delicious, and the location has indoor and outdoor seating. They also have a small parking lot. This review is written from our first experience but since then I've personally had every bowl except the gyro. It's all seasoned so well and as I write this, I'm looking forward to trying some other things on the menu. I recommend this place to anyone that is reading this, and it has definitely become a gem for my wife and me. You have to try the loaded fries.

This place has a basic, mid looking menu but the food actually tasted great. We dined in Saturday night with two dogs on the covered patio. The chicken shawarma bowl was a hefty portion and tasted great. Easy free parking in the garage next door but the place was completely dead on a Saturday night! Not a good sign, but we were able to get food and good service.

The salad was clearly stale, particularly the cucumber, and the wrap was dry, indicating it was old bread. Additionally, the food was served cold.

I feel like Pita Bar + Grill on the corner of Barrington & Wilshire has a lot of potential. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, a water feature, an appealing menu, and friendly staff. For a Starter, we went with the Sweet & Spicy Jumbo Shrimp ($14) sauteed with roasted jalapeños & drizzled with wildflower honey. The downside is that the shrimp still has the skin on it, so you have to peel it, but it is very sticky because of the sauce, which is not actually touching the shrimp meat. The sauce is delicious and I love that it is sweetened with honey instead of just sugar. The shrimp itself was very chewy and possibly over cooked. From the Grill, we went with the Skirt Steak ($23) which comes with Chimichurri Sauce and your choice of 2: White or Brown Rice, Fries & Garden Salad. The meat was tough, the chimichurri sauce was randomly too spicy, and there was not enough chimichurri. Next time I'd come back to try their daily happy hour, which goes from 4-7pm.

I've tried the cafe in redondo and LOVED their falafel plate. So good and flavorful and a good balanced of spices. I've been thinking ab this falafel plate for 2 months so when I came back to town I had to go back. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This time we came to this location which is much more of a sit down restaurant rather than the other that's more casual.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was indoor, outdoor and bar seating. We chose outside, it was comfortable seating, quiet, fans on so it didn't feel hot at all.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff was quick and prompt with the service and tending to all customers pretty evenly and patiently. My experiences in both the cafe and this one bar/grill were fantastic and I would highly recommend. I also recommend getting the garlic sauce !!

I came here for lunch and had their chicken kabob lunch special. It was juicy and pretty good, I do wish the portion was bigger. The service that day was a bit slow to get our tab closed. Otherwise, pretty solid Mediterranean food!

Beach day with the fam for Labor Day, and we chose Pita Bar + Grill for lunch. We were the only ones here, so service was pretty fast in terms of greeting and food coming out time. I ordered the Falafel bowl which came with falafel, Shirazi salad, romaine lettuce, avocado, white rice, pita bread, and hummus. Fantastic in regards to taste, the sauce had a nice pop to it as well. Veggies were fresh. Overall a pretty good tasting meal. [[HIGHLIGHT]]What stood out to me was the atmosphere. Nice cool outdoor seating with a fountain that I found to be a nice touch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

My experience was ordering for delivery via DoorDash. I was craving Mediterranean food for dinner and just so happened to see Pita Bar + Grill as one of the "try something new " sections on DoorDash. I looked at the menu and saw the combo 2 skewer plate. The combo has chicken kabob, shish kabob and koobideh kabob. You have a choice of brown rice or white rice, fries and garden salad. The flavor and tenderness of the meat was good and it hit the spot when satisfying my craving. Since discovering this spot, this has been one of my goto spots when ordering dinner. I've even recommended to friends and coworkers, and they have all enjoyed the recommendation.

Local hookah place in Santa Monica. Super tiny but cute with a full bar and food. Their drink list is cute and it isn't half bad. They have quite a food menu for a hookah lounge. We tried their hummus and it was ok but the pita bread was just stale. We got their fries with gyro and the gyro was over cooked. Although the food wasn't too great, the hookah was fabulous and so was the drinks. We have to ask for more charcoal but the service was decent. The area is inside but has open window...kind of....the smoke wouldn't bother you at all. All in all, great small place in Santa monica

    Happy Valentine's!

It had a cool vibe and tons of allocated bottles on the bar (tequila and whiskey and whisky to name a few categories). The staff greeted us quickly and supplied us with some menus. I opted for the Idyllwild cocktail and loved it! It had the most complementary flavors and was so refreshing with the bourbon, yuzu, chartreuse, honey, and lemon flavors. My husband opted for a neat Caballito Cerrero Puntas pour (high proof agave spirit). They only had 0.5 Oz for their bottle and only charged for the partial pour. People came in and ordered anything from cocktails to neat pours to flights. It was a cool spot and the bartenders seemed pretty well versed in different cocktails, giving a few suggestions to different patrons. Even making a few Espresso Martinis for a couple of girls that didn't really like their initial cocktails. Staff was cool, attentive, and pretty quick and efficient with the pours. I'd definitely be down to try more drinks here if we roll through again. Luckily, we found some close street parking and it wasn't super busy so we easily found parking in the area. Most of the bars are dive bars in downtown Santa Monica, and parking is quite accessible for this place. So I'd recommend for that reason. In terms of the drinks, I'm a huge fan of cocktail but I would say their menu selections are a bit limited. Nothing in the signature cocktail looks interesting to me, so I had the bartender make a classic cocktail instead. He's very attentive and friendly, didn't take forever to get a drink either, no attitude. Drinks aren't watered down either. Nice! You come here to grab quick drinks when you don't feel like being at a loud dive bar in the area, it's in a hotel but not too upscale, no strict dress code. Music is not loud and they have couches and booth if bar table if not your thing, you don't have to yell or pretend you hear everything to hold a conversation here (lol). ** Keep in mind 20% gratuity is automatically included in bill, it's my first time here. But I think I've other spots I'd prefer to be in, even at Santa Monica. Wouldn't be self-motivated to come back because there are better places that specialises mixology, and there are also better upscale hotel bars to be at. But if you're around the area it's a great intimate bar for date night that's not overly pricey. Wouldn't travel all the way to here just for this (if you know what I mean).
