I've been here before and I believe the 1st time I ordered thee same plate chicken kabob Am sure the chicken was more because this time they look like appetizers... the rice is Spanish rice! I usually go to urban grill next door but didn't realise it was closed on Sunday so I gave this place a try and glad I did the chicken was fresh and the seasoning so good. Average and affordable food. It's conveniently down the street from my job, so I'm able to call ahead to pick up the order. Gets pretty busy there around lunch time and the parking lot isn't the best, but I haven't had any issues with trying to find parking around 12:30PM. I've tried their falafel pita combo and the gyro pita combo, which comes with either a salad or fries and a drink. I actually prefer the salad over the fries. The fries are thick cut, but not salted. The combos are less than $8, and a great value. Service is fair and quick - great go-to spot if you ever forget to pack lunch. read more

This place is awesome! To be fair, I am a little biased because I live across the street from the restaurant, so I frequent it on lazy days that I do not wish to make dinner. I normally get the Gyro plate, which is the sliced meat, rice, and salad and always followed up with their Baklava (sp)...Delicious! The staff is always friendly and I never have to wait long to get my food. The only reason I am docking them a star is due sometimes they will be out of a particular food (early in the afternoon) and they will refuse to make more, I.E. grape leafs. Other than that, they are a great spot for some tasty Mediterranean food. The location can be a bit cramped depending on the crowd. My wife and I bring our baby with us, and finding a space for the stroller can be challenging at times. So if you plan to travel with kiddos, plan accordingly. read more

I usually love schwarma because the meat is tasty, but I found the chicken to be quite dry and lacking flavor, the plate did come with a garlic sauce which I slathered the chicken in and made it tastier. The rice, salad and pita were good, but nothing overwhelmingly delicious. The parking lot here also gets really crowded around lunch and it can be hard to find a spot. I met a friend for lunch and it was easy to find. Cell phone navigation can have a difficult time properly navigating exactly here but even if you turn into the Denny's parking lot (past the strip mall) it's just a step over the curb into the correct parking lot. I had the chicken kabob plate and it was delicious. It comes with a small salad, saffron rice and a warm pita. The Greek sauce on the side was delicious too. My friend had the falafel plate which included hummus and tabbouleh. He liked it but the falafel were not as warm as he would have preferred. The hummus and tabbouleh were delicious. Give it a try. I come into the Pita Grill fairly often and there's a reason I do! Almost every time I go, I get the vegetarian plate, not because I'm vegetarian, but because all the selections they have at the counter are so freaking good! You HAVE to try the homemade falafel and their garlic potatoes. They're heavenly. The food you get for the money is well worth it and it's healthy to boot! I've tried both the chicken and lamb too and I can also attest that they are delicious as well!!! The main chef knows my face and my order, so when I came in last night and saw they had already run out of falafel and garlic potatoes, he went to the back and made more himself, just for my friend and me!!! He even gave us dolmas as part of our vegetarian plates without the usual up charge because we had to wait. The Pita Grill is a great lunch or dinner spot for both carnivores and vegetarians alike, they're fast, they're delicious, and they're healthy! What's not to love? A+ and five stars!!! read more

I give it the 4 stars mainly for quality but then again Greek type food is hard to come by these days so I come here when I'm in the mood for gyro. The plates are pretty good and very filling. I like this since it's quick service so it's not too expensive and can get it on a whim. Don't go at closing as it will feel like they are trying to push you out so they can go home. This food is... not good. It's not BAD per se, but it's definitely not good. Somehow the gyros managed to be both greasy and dry at the same time. And they were the blandest gyros I've ever had. The sides are weird. Like the kale salad has dried cranberries in it, which on its own is fine, but at a Mediterranean place? Mango salad? And the artichoke salad was literally just canned artichokes with sliced peppers. No seasoning, no lemon, nothing. I'm still not sure what the white dipping sauce was. There were no cucumbers so it wasn't tzatziki. It was kind of garlicky, but it definitely wasn't toum. Baffling. The best part of the meal was the pita bread. Which was most likely prepackaged and definitely not grilled. Bread should not be the best part of a Mediterranean meal. read more

Fast food quality at pay and sit pricing I love Mediterranean food but this was a let down. I ordered the gyro pita combo. The menu said it comes with fries and a drink, but she only gave me the option of rice or a salad. That was fine, since a salad sounded better than fries anyway. It wasn't. When she brought it out, a third of the salad was on the tray instead of in the bowl, and tasted like something you'd get at a school cafeteria. The salad was soggy and the dressing tasted like feta had melted into a vinaigrette. Basically a bowl of mush. Don't expect any texture. The gyro pita itself wasn't good either. Too salty, and I was over it by the second bite. It was decent flavor just way too much of it. The size of the pita sandwich was underwhelming as well, somewhere between a street pita and a real pita. Like I said, pretty much like a fast food place. It was just meat, sauce, and some sliced onions stuffed into a pita. The only saving grace for this place is that I saw other people who had ordered entree plates and they looked pretty good. Opted for a gyro plate instead, which overall was good. Included was a side salad, rice or fries (I chose rice), a pita and a side of tzatziki. Salad is pre-made and pre-dressed, so you have no control over ingredients or the amount of dressing. Rice is mixed with a few peas and corn kernels, but otherwise just there to fill you up. Ordered a mixed plate that's supposed to have chicken, beef, and lamb. They left out the lamb and the chicken and beef are dry and bland. The chicken is barely edible. I paid $1 for a side of hummus and they gave me a salsa cup with about a tablespoon of hummus. I have no idea what the white sauce is but I'm not touching it, it looks like straight mayonnaise. I ate here for lunch yesterday and everything tasted okay, except some of the chicken and the fries. The fries tasted really weird! I do not know what they tasted like, but you just could tell there was something very wrong with them. I have had some major GI issues all day today. WOW one of the best Mediterranean restaurants I've eaten at. The grilled Chicken kebobs are grilled to juicy perfection, I had the plate which came with your choice of rice or friend and a salads. I chose the rice, it was tasty but a little dry and the Greek salad was amazing. I've also had their chicken shawarma plate, also with rice and salad. The chicken shawarma is probably the best ice had. Super flavorful but if you prefer juicy chicken, go for the kebobs. The baba ganoush is THE BEST, no doubt about it and the hummus is spectacular. Pita Grill is apparently new to this plaza and is located off of Chapman near the five freeway. Parking can be tough during the lunch hour as there are a handful of eateries here and the lot is small. There's another lot in the plaza with Denny's if you can't find any parking in this one. I first visited PIta Grill a few weeks ago and found one of their staff very helpful and friendly. I usually know exactly what I want when I order Mediterranean food but found their plethora of salad options difficult to choose from. All their salads are premade and visible at the counter. I ended up getting the chicken plate with half fatouche salad and half Mediterranean salad. I was undecided about the salads for a while and the cashier allowed me to sample the two that I was debating between. My food took around 20 minutes which was surprising when half of the meal was already premade. The salads were pretty good and only slightly different in taste as the fatouche had cucumber and the Mediterranean salad didn't. The chicken was served in grilled strips and was tender and a bit juicy. The meal could have done with some hummus or sauce on the side. My second meal at Pita Grill was the falafel plate. This plate comes with a generous helping of hummus, 4 falafel balls and your choice of salad. This time around I got the mango salad which is pretty much a Mediterranean salad with mango slices added in. The falael were really tasty and the combination of hummus, falafel and salad in one bite made for a satisfying meal. What I could do without is definitely the price of the dishes here. I can easily get a mixed kabob plate with rice, tabbouli, pita and hummus for $10 elsewhere while I'd have to pay $14 here. I can't imagine I'll ever feel inclined to pay that much here knowing that I could get it for cheaper, and honestly probably better, elsewhere. The edge that this place has on other Mediterrean places I've been to is definitely the salad variety but the meat quality doesn't seem worth the price. I'll probably come back for the falafel plate because it's fairly reasonably priced and I enjoy their salads but will likely get my kabobs elsewhere. read more
