The first time I came here, I ordered some artichokes for an appetizer and a chicken pita to go. When I arrived at my home, it was a gyro instead and what looked like cold, canned artichokes which were like $5.99. I thought maybe because it's new, they weren't on their A game. I came again today for a greek salad and it was literally just romaine lettuce with one tomato, one olive, and one cucumber. No feta cheese. I do not like leaving negative reviews but the fires were so soggy and tasted like they were very old, i literally had 3 pieces of lettuce and a slice of tomato as the salad and 2 drops of the tzatziki. I eat here at least once a week and I always get the Chicken Shwarma Plate. It comes with rice and salad and is seriously delicious. Usually get a side of hummus and extra pita that lasts me a few days. The staff and super friendly and quick which is great because they get slammed around lunch time. If I could give a place 0 Stars this restaurant would be it. The owner was extremely rude to me and my family. We simply asked the individual taking our order a question about the menu and he asked me and my wife if we were blind and didn't know how to read. I was quite surprised by his response and asked why he was being so rude when we were only asking a simple question about the menu and the guy had the audacity to say "I'm the owner, I do what I want. You don't like it, go somewhere else. You won't find better food than here." I didn't know asking a question could be such a crime. I am quite baffled and surprised that as a business owner you could have such poor customer service and no sense of business knowledge. WOW one of the best Mediterranean restaurants I've eaten at. The grilled Chicken kebobs are grilled to juicy perfection, I had the plate which came with your choice of rice or friend and a salads. I chose the rice, it was tasty but a little dry and the Greek salad was amazing. I've also had their chicken shawarma plate, also with rice and salad. The chicken shawarma is probably the best ice had. Super flavorful but if you prefer juicy chicken, go for the kebobs. The baba ganoush is THE BEST, no doubt about it and the hummus is spectacular. The service could be better, but overall they are nice and attentive, just a little over whelmed when it gets busy. I definitely will be back to try other plates! read more

Pita Grill is apparently new to this plaza and is located off of Chapman near the five freeway. Parking can be tough during the lunch hour as there are a handful of eateries here and the lot is small. There's another lot in the plaza with Denny's if you can't find any parking in this one. I first visited PIta Grill a few weeks ago and found one of their staff very helpful and friendly. I usually know exactly what I want when I order Mediterranean food but found their plethora of salad options difficult to choose from. All their salads are premade and visible at the counter. I ended up getting the chicken plate with half fatouche salad and half Mediterranean salad. I was undecided about the salads for a while and the cashier allowed me to sample the two that I was debating between. My food took around 20 minutes which was surprising when half of the meal was already premade. The salads were pretty good and only slightly different in taste as the fatouche had cucumber and the Mediterranean salad didn't. The chicken was served in grilled strips and was tender and a bit juicy. The meal could have done with some hummus or sauce on the side. My second meal at Pita Grill was the falafel plate. This plate comes with a generous helping of hummus, 4 falafel balls and your choice of salad. This time around I got the mango salad which is pretty much a Mediterranean salad with mango slices added in. The falael were really tasty and the combination of hummus, falafel and salad in one bite made for a satisfying meal. What I could do without is definitely the price of the dishes here. I can easily get a mixed kabob plate with rice, tabbouli, pita and hummus for $10 elsewhere while I'd have to pay $14 here. I can't imagine I'll ever feel inclined to pay that much here knowing that I could get it for cheaper, and honestly probably better, elsewhere. The edge that this place has on other Mediterrean places I've been to is definitely the salad variety but the meat quality doesn't seem worth the price. I'll probably come back for the falafel plate because it's fairly reasonably priced and I enjoy their salads but will likely get my kabobs elsewhere. read more

This mini mall on chapman next to the 57 is turning into a lunch hot spot in what use to be a rather unnoticeable mini mall. Pita Grill is the latest entry in to this what is hopefully becoming a food court. I saw this place was close to opening the last time I went to Urban Cactus and decided why not give it a try. Overall it was rather good. I had their Falafel plate which included 4 good sized pieces of falafel, a generous serving of hummus, a pita and a green salad. Along with adding a drink I believe it was just under $10. Not a bad deal at all. The falafel was good. Not over cooked, still kind of soft, good flavor. Certainly stop here for lunch if your in the area and want a pita. I'll be heading back soon to try something else. read more

My husband and I came in about 45 minute until they were going to close. Almost everything we ordered they said that they were out of, including salad. We finally found something to ordered and we got it to go. While we were waiting for our food 4 other couples came in and were frustrated to find out that they were out of almost everything and refused to make any more. Those couples ended up leaving to go to the restaurant next door. That was a total of 8 customers that this establishment missed out on in 10 minutes. One of the main things that they people were upset about was that there was not enough salad and that they refused to make any more. When we finally got our food the order was wrong and the man serving us at the front was rude and talked to me as if I was stupid when I explained to him that the order he had given me something entirely different than what I had ordered. After much discussion and frustration they fixed my order. When we got home to eat the food it was extremely greasy and left both me and my husband feeling sick afterwards. So excited that Pita Grill has opened here (it's right off of the 57 fwy off Chapman- Orange in the same plaza as WaBa and Jack in the Box)! They used to have a location in Irvine which sadly closed last year (I guess they had a dispute regarding the lease with The Irvine Company or something). Anyway, this was one of my most favorite places to go for lunch when I was based out of Irvine. It's considered fast food, but honestly tastes way better than some of the sit down Mediterranean sit down places. All the meat on their menu are seasoned and cooked perfectly. Love their rice and other sides a available. Their garlic potatoes are one of the best I've ever had, and the garlic sauce is soooooooo good! Fried cauliflowers are great too! Still Awesome! Got the Kafta Kabab plate, their yummy garlic potato was so good even though a bit oily but i am not coming here to watch my calories. The kabab was so juicy and moist. Their toum is the best garlic sauce in town!!!! Omg we looove that stuff! The chicken shawarma is so delicious, but to get it right ask them not to add any lettuce or tomato (growing up in the middle east taught us that those dont belong in a shawarma), and instead stuff it with a few fries that you got on the side, ask for tahini sauce on the side and add that... finally dip it in your giant extra bowl of garlic sauce/ toum! Thats how you eat a shawarma!!!! Finally I do not ever get the gyros here... why would you when they got a shawarma like theirs, go somewhere else for gyros, their specialty is shawarma not gyros. Just tried Pita Grill for the first time based on the reviews from Yelp. They were a little out of my way, however, our usual Mediterranean/pita spot is even further, so we decided to give this a shot. We decided to get two plates of mixed grill, which is three kebabs - chicken, steak and ground beef, on rice, with a small salad, hummus and pita. We liked: The portions were really good, I can't imagine anyone being hungry after eating all this food. The chicken was seasoned well and the steak was juicy. The ground beef had perfect grill/char marks. Lots of rice, and for a small side salad, it didn't seem too small. The pita and hummus were really good. The pita wasn't what I expected, I am used to seeing the kind of puffy, pocket pitas that you see in the grocery market, whereas these were flat, and rolled up into thin tubes for delivery. That being said, they tasted great, very fresh and flavorful, and the combination of the pita and hummus had a good, chewy bite with deep flavor. Service was very good, and the girl that helped me on the phone, which I assume is the same one that wrang me up, was very pleasant, fast and helpful. Nice enough to give a smile and answer questions, but also didn't bog me down with small talk, so the line moved quickly. We didn't agree on: My wife disliked the ground beef so much that she refused to eat it. She tossed it on my plate. I liked it however, and found it to be really juicy. Amazing with the garlic sauce. On the other hand, she really liked the chicken more than anything, whereas I felt mine was very dry, although I will say it was spiced well. Overall however, we thought the meats were "good", not "great". I think if the meats weren't so "well done" (I asked for my steak to be medium, it was well-done however) it would have been a better experience. Also, and maybe this is just my experience, but usually the saffron rice at other places is lighter, fluffier, and mixed white/saffron rice. This rice was all short-grain, yellow... it had the texture and taste of "Uncle Ben's" or "Rice-a-roni". Again, good... not great. The salad also, while okay, was not a Greek stype salad - no olives and feta. This is fine, but again, just something I'm used to from other places. Overall: We were very in the mood for kebabs and Mediterranean food. While Pita Grill gave us a great big dish of food and great service, at the end of the day, we found the food to be "good", and if I lived/worked near this establishment, I'd likely head there for lunch often. That being said, if you are looking for "great" food, then you may find the fare here a little underwhelming. read more

Been waiting over a year for this place to reopen! I always get the chicken kabobs but the wife and brother in law prefer the shaved chicken. It's further from me now that it's in Orange or Irvine so I won't be able to come 3 or 4 times a week like I used to but will try to make it at least once a week. Anybody that knows Alexis B. knows that she's a diva and demands ALOT! So she mentioned this place to me at the beginning of the month and when it was her turn to pick lunch last week (since I'm so boring) -_- I know this place is still new so I'm hoping they will work out the kinks and come down to reality when it comes to pricing. When you think of "fast casual" you don't think it would cost almost $50.00! We are not cheap people at all, lets be real the minute you walk outside your house it costs! But for these prices you would think your at a sit down restaurant. There's plenty of these Mediterranean spots popping out now and probably a lot cheaper than Pita Grill. The food was good but not WOW, it didn't blow me away and make me want to come back over and over, it was decent but I didn't feel it was $50.00 worthy. We had great service and the menu does offer different options (meat heads and vegetarians) I stick to what I know (you can't mess up chicken!) I opted for the chicken kabobs, mom had a trio of meats with rice, and Alexis had the gyro plate, we also ordered a side of garlic potatoes, to be honest those were only memorable things besides the dipping sauces (cucumber yogurt, hummus, garlic spread). Some of my chicken was pretty dry you definitely need sauce to spruce it up, the yellow rice was solid, we all thought our food was just OK, nothing special. The food needs some flavor (seasonings) and to make the chicken more moist, I felt like I was chewing for awhile :/ I can agree with other yelpers who feel similar to I do, so if its more than one person saying it I think the owners should take it into consideration. I do hope this place does good and fixes some of the kinks. I don't think I would come back since I know there's other spots similar to this in Anaheim that are better. read more

Have to say that is the best kabab place I've so far in the states !!! I used to live in Paris and kebab was one of my fav food there. Convenient and delicious. I was staying at Double tree and thanks to Yelp, I found this awesome place. Guys there were friendly and offered to explain the menu. I ordered the shish plate and kale salad for the side (it was close to closing time so not much other salad left). The beef was super delicious, juicy and tender. Kale salad didn't have that distinctive bitter taste - I could eat that salad all day long. Everything was so yummy!! I left the next day around 10am and drove by.. The place won't open til 11am so I guess I have to wait til next time :( seriously if I ever drive pass Orange County I'll stop by for their food!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

I have never had pita, schrwarma, gyros, or anything of that nature so I don't have a baseline to compare. However, for being my first time trying this type of food, I found it really enjoyable. I studied the menu for a couple of minutes and decided on the chicken pita combination meal for $7.95. Pita wrap with chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, garlic sauce and turnip pickles. I really enjoyed the wrap. It tasted so good, I devoured it in a matter of a couple of minutes. There are three options for a side: Fries, rice, or salad. I got the rice and it tasted good too. It also comes with a small fountain drink. Since I am nearby, I will be visiting this place more often. Sorry Jack in the Box, I think I found my new favorite. read more

Delicious meal here tonight. Quick stop off the 5 freeway and I wanted something other than the usual fast food fare. Found the Pita Grill on Yelp and loved every bite. Counter order restaurant with food delivered to your table. Very friendly counter help. He let me taste one of the salads to help make a good choice. The chicken grill sandwich was excellent. Chicken was cooked on a skewer (like gyros) and sliced. Humus was spread on the lafa bread, chicken added, some onions and pickled beets. Yum! I ordered a side Mediterranean salad (diced cucumbers and tomatoes with some spice). This place really hit the spot for me. If i lived closer, I would definitely be back. read more

First off I have never had such bad customer service ever. When I asked the young lady at the front what comes in the veggie plate she told me I can choose up to five sides. I told her I would like the potatoes and I was told by her " sorry the potatoes are already sold to someone else, and if you want potatoes you should come in the morning". Wtf!!! She continues to tell me that it's up to the cook and this cook tonight is done making potatoes and if come another day there is a better cook that will cook potatoes all night long. I really don't understand how they are still in business with employees that get to choose when they are done cooking for the day. Only open since July 2014. I think some of the cranky reviews were during their very first months in business. I think the kinks have been worked out now. Delicious. Prepared fresh and skillfully. We got chicken kabob plate, chicken shawarma salad and a gyro pita. We couldn't pick a favorite ... It was all THAT good. Portions were fair. Food was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Great staff too. Let me be clear. I am so happy that they have reopened. I used to go to their Irvine joint all the time. People thought I was enough for them to sustain their business. And then one day it was replaced by the vile and bland DonerG. Anyhow, one day I heard they have started again and boy was I prepared to go to the end of the earth to eat that chicken again. The quality is still great. I have it about 3-4 times a week. I'd have it more if I didn't have to drive 20 minutes to get there. The staff more or less knows my face and are very friendly. The food is awesome. I'm happy they're here again and I will consider moving close to them just so their food is nearby. read more

So today I got to work super early and figured I would grab food, I stopped in and ordered the chicken kabob plate with rice.This place was thoroughly disappointing Chicken kabobs: really great flavor! Unfortunately, they were WAAAYYY too over cooked. They were so dry I almost couldn't eat them. Salad: it came with the green salad that appears to be pre done in the morning. Pre making a salad is one thing, but if you pre make it with dressing it becomes soggy soup. Lettuce was severely waterlogged and rubbery. Plus, they use black olives instead of kalamata olives which tastes funky. Rice: stale and hard. Rice should NOT be crunchy. Also, did not really understand the peas and corn, especially since there were only like 7 or 8 total. Sauce glob: I honestly have no idea what it was, but tasted like garlicky mayo (although more greasy) "Pita bread": I put it in quotes because calling it that is a very loose interpretation of the word. It was dry, tasteless and super thin. It reminded me of a pita pocket you would get from the discount section of big lots... All in all, it was a definite waste of $10. After impatiently waiting for this place to open (practically salivating outside their doors every day!) since they put the sign up that they were "opening soon", the day has finally arrived. I checked back by to see if they were open and today was my lucky day. I went inside and perused the menu and drooled all over the floor. :D I ordered the Gyro (Yeero) pita combination with Fattoush salad & a drink. It was $7.50 with everything, which is a great price for a healthy and fresh meal, in my opinion. The Pita bread seemed to be home made and was so tender and soft. The lamb was well seasoned and delicious. The pita had ultra creamy Tzatziki sauce, tomato and sweet onion. It was nearly the perfect sandwich. Because the Pita was so fresh it started to fall apart in my hands about halfway through. Probably had something to do with the healthy dose of hot sauce that I put on it. LOL! The young man who took my order suggested that I try the pickled turnip along side. I said that I had never tried it but sure, lay it on me. He said it could be a life changing thing. LOL! While not life changing, it did make a great pickle to go with the pita. The Fattoush salad had tomato, cucumber and bell peppers with parsley, mint, oil and lemon juice and man, that was some tasty salad. Very fresh and bright tasting. Not the usual kind with torn pita in it, but sooo good! My only complaint, and it isn't even a real complaint, was that they didn't have any stuffed grape leaves yet. I hope that will be remedied soon. :) In closing, I am so glad that they are finally open and look forward to many, many more lunches in the future. It was totally worth the wait. Where do I even start? I always order the same thing, grilled salmon plate with rice and greek salad. Reallllly goood! Most of the time i order through postmates to my job but here and there ill stop in and the staff is so friendly and welcoming everytime! Id love to try other things but honestly the salmon is cooked so perfect everytime its hard for me to not order, ive recommended this place to literally everyone i know in the area and idk why its taken so long for me to write a review on yelp!!
