We've been going to Pita Way in Clarkston almost since Brandon opened it and way before he franchised it. We've been very happy with this place and really enjoy the change of pace it offers to the other fast food in the area (burgers, subs, and pizza). There's a good mix of wraps and salads, as well as bowls and a sort of quesadilla like item. They offer a good selection of meats. I particularly like the chicken shawarma, the beef or chicken Kafta, and from time to time the falafel. My son likes the crispy chicken and my wife likes the chicken Tawook. All are good. Most of the items are made on-site and are all very fresh and healthier than other fast food. A good selection of toppings are available and the sauces are all excellent. I particularly like to mix the 'white sauce' (a homemade ranch) mixed with tahini and some sumac. They also have hot pepper dashes you can add if you're feeling a little spicy. I particularly like the ability to make it a combo with a soup and a drink. The soups are excellent! They have what I'd say is the best lemon rice soup I think I've ever had! The curry soup is also nice with a nice heat to it. I've never had them, but people also love the fire fries, which are French fries tossed with a spicy sauce. The only knocks I'd give would be that it sometimes takes a while to get through the line because the employees are busy with call in or internet orders. The other minor issue is that as they grow they are trying to streamline the menu a little so old favorites of my wife like chickpeas and olives and the very nice Caesar salad dressing are now not on the menu. In addition the constant turnover(not really their fault these days) tends to lead to an uneven experience sometimes. Sometimes you get a good server who puts everything together correctly and sometimes not so much. Overall a great change of pace for a healthier Mediterranean fast food choice. This used to be one of the better places in town, but the service has taken a hard hit lately. The last time I was there they replaced everyone's tawook sandwiches with crispy chicken and completely forgot one person's whole meal. Not taking points away for this, just pointing it out. The posting at the door suggested that they wear masks, but none of them were when I was there, so it's not a place to bring your kids if that's a concern for you. read more

Pita Way is my favorite food. Saturday special of Beef Kafta today, done as a Quesopita and Fries on the side for a perfect summer evening meal. With the Beef Kafta I always go light on topping and dressings so I can get the full unadulterated flavor of the meat. Beef Kafta is pretty much what cows were made for. Chicken Kafta, the Tuesday special, is one of my "go to" choices. Flavorful and moist I can top it so many different ways: heavy veggies in a wrap, a bit of parsley and feta in a rice bowl, or spicy in a Quesopita. read more

I've never felt so strongly about somewhere to make a yelp review, but dang. This was my first time eating here and I got a chicken shawarma wrap with a side of hummus and pita chips, and not only was the food fantastic, it was some of the best service I've ever had. There was a man training to make the food and a supervisor helping him. The supervisor was so beyond nice, and every employee seemed happy to be there. The person who was training even asked me if I have ever tried the pickled cabbage and then gave me a sample when I said no. I ended up loving it and putting it on my sandwich. It makes me sad that I moved to Grand Rapids, but now this will be the first place I stop whenever I'm back in town! Pita Way is unique and delicious! Brandon, the owner is friendly and outgoing, hard-working and he cares about his customer base. Not only is Pita Way delicious but it is a healthy quick alternative to "fast-food." For the most part, it's a great place to go fof some mediterranian sandweech that is filled with delicious fresh ingredients no matter which one you choose. Some of my favorites are the chicken kafta (the best chicken kafta actually of most anywhere I've had chicken kafta), tawook, vegetarian and the grapeleaves --- the salads are all delicious and fresh. The falaffel and hummus. Yummy - you cannot go wrong with this place. While I believe that this place deserves a five star for the food, the service (which has gotten better since Brandon has gotten what appears to be more reliable help) and the price, I almost gave it like a 4.8 =) (if that was possible). There are a few items I'd like to see improved - and that is the "naked" sandweech (bowl) which comes without the pita and with rice instead. I wish the rice were more like lebanese rice - I am not sure what kind of rice Pita Way uses but it's sort of yellow and dry, it has the yummy nice almonds, etc. but it just doesn't do the place justice considering the rest of their food. I would also like to see a raw juice bar because I think it just goes with the whole theme of being healthy and I love them. Lastly, I personally would love stronger garlic, maybe a different base? Brandon's garlic is good, don't get me wrong, but it's a different recipe than what I am used to. read more

After reading many great reviews and looking at all the delicious photos we finally made it here for lunch! We both ordered bowls & they were fantastic! I always feel that sit-down middle eastern restaurants are too expensive, but Pita Way was very reasonable for the amount of food you get! You can dine in or carry out, we did a carry out. Staff was very friendly & let us take our time choosing what we wanted in each bowl. They also gave us a flyer with two coupons for next time! Great food, great service, we'll be back! read more

I went here a few months ago and kept forgetting to put up a review. I got one of the chicken shawarma bowls and it was amazing. Had great taste and was super fresh. The portions are big it was a little pricy but absolutely worth it. I cant wait to try a combo try soon. read more

THIS PLACE. Unreal flavor. I've been to pretty much every Mediterranean style food place in Michigan, and this is hands down one of if not THE best. This place is delish!! We ordered the family meal for 4. Everything tasted very fresh. We loved the rice and meats. The favors were perfect. Not too strong but definitely taste them. Sometimes middle eastern prepared meats can be a bit strong tasting for me. The fattoush salad was delicious too. We had plenty of leftovers but nothing went to waste. Went here for the first time last week and no surprise, the food was very good. Had the lamb shawarma sandweech and spicy hummus with chips. Everything just had so much flavor and the lamb was very tender. Definitely, for the money, very well worth it. I was raving to all my friends about how they need to try it. So tried it again of course today and was sadly let down. I ordered the same thing as last time while my friend got a similar item and both were very dry and bland. I was blown away by how different the food was this time. The pita tasted very stale and dry, the lamb was also rather dry and bland, the veggies weren't as crisp and fresh as last time, and the strangest part was the garlic and hummus didn't have that big flavor of last time. Definitely a pretty big let down after talking the place up so much. I'll probably be back since the food was so great that first time, and the service was great both times, but the very drastic inconsistency is concerning. People are STILL asking me what happened w the crazy situation that took place. So, I'm writing to warn others of the assistant manager that works there (that's what he called himeself). We have catered from this company numerous times and ate here for YEARS without any problems. We placed another catering order at the Baldwin store the night before and explained there was coupon for it, guy said just show it on your phone when you pick up. My friend goes to pick it up and they have no evidence of the order! They scrambled to get something ready and my friend shows the coupon and the guy says no, we can't use it. The manager was SO rude to us and said repeatedly, It's not my problem what happened! The other employees were shaking their heads and making faces that they couldn't believe he was speaking to us in that manner. I asked to speak w Brandon, the owner, they refused. So we lent up leaving WITHOUT food! Now I have people at my house w no food to give them!! We were mortified!! So I called the store on Sash which we usually go to to try to clear things up. I spoke to a great super friendly young lady who couldn't believe what happened and said she's get ahold of Brandon for me. We waited and people were getting hungry, so I called back to see if he was going to call me soon and that's when the assistant manager answered the call and things went from bad to the WORST IMAGINABLE. He starts with; Tell me what happened, I'm hearing all kinds of stuff and wanna know. So I repeat the story yet again, very calmly bc it didn't involve him and I was standing in front of the people at our party. At the end of explanation, he very snottily says, What do you want me to do about? You shoulda known about the coupon! I was flabergasted! I stopped him and said; Why are you speaking to me so rudely? I'm talking to you w respect. Please stop. To which he starts raising his voice to me and tells me, This is ridiculous! I'm not doing anything for you! I was dumbfounded!! And asked him AGAIN to please stop and speak to me with respect as I am him. Now he sounded quite young, but that's no excuse. I asked him; Then why did you have me explain the whole story to you?? It was VERY apparent it was bc he felt left out and wanted to know the gossip. My ENTIRE party heard this exchange and every jaw was dropped w the way he was YELLING, TALKING DOWN, EXTREMELY RUDE, and DEMEANING towards me..and heard me pleading with him to stop speaking to me the way he was. And how it ended..HE HUNG UP ON ME!!!!!!!!! And Brandon never ever called me!! Sadly all our YEARS of loyalty and catering SINCE THEY OPENED now means nothing bc of the type of people allowed to be employed here. Now instead of encouraging people to go there, we and all the people at my party are warning everyone about this place and the people there. Yes the food is good, but having rude immature employees you have to deal with to get the food turns people away and will go to one of the other bunch of shwarma places around. We hate that 2 managers ruined these businesses but with them having prevalent roles there, it is what it is until things change there. We all warn people that if you cater there's a good chance they won't even write down your order and you'll have ZERO food for a party! I've been a big fan of this place since it opened in Clarkston. I haven't been to the other locations, but I'm thrilled they have been expanding because they make a good Mediterranean pita! A nice big selection of meats, veggies, cheeses and dressings make this a great lunch spot! I think their Tawook is the best, but their lamb shwarma isn't bad either. Wasn't thrilled with the kafta, but you can't be perfect at everything. There isn't a lot of seating, but I've only been there once where I had to wait to sit, so it doesn't seem to be an issue. read more

I have to start with saying how much I love Ryan and Conrad!!! I can't thank them enough. I was first introduced to Pita Way when they catered to my moms job in Michigan. She came home RAVING about the food. The following day, she brought food home so that I could experience it myself. When I tell you the taste buds in my mouth were dancing... I mean literally... DANCING!! I accepted the small amount of leftovers that she had and the very next day took an UBER all the way to the Warren location from Royal Oak (prior to the Troy location opening) just to have a full serving of my own. I am from Florida and my car is still down there, so yes, I had to Uber 30 minutes. That's when I met Ryan! He was/IS the best!!!! Not only did he make my first experience one to remember but he also informed me that the Troy location was opening the following day. Of course a week later, my mom, dad & I hunted down the Troy location. And to my surprise I saw Ryan's smiling face welcoming us with a grateful energy while greeting me by name! And that same day I met Conrad! I just thought to myself, "Is everyone & everything here awesome?" My family fell in love with his customer service as well. Since the Troy location has opened, I've ordered from there at least seven times whether it be in person, through my parents or via DoorDash. Today I was ordering online & I called inquiring about an ingredient Ryan usually uses bc I was too lazy to leave my house but he wasn't there :-( However, Conrad cheerfully answered all my questions, remembered me & mom & made sure that my delivery was as equally perfect! Every time I order food from there, I am more delighted than the last. Their food has a certain finesse in bold flavors that you won't find anywhere else. Eat it once & you'll be craving it for days! My favorites are their Fire Fries (thank me later) & the White Pita "Sandweech". Whatever it is that you choose to get, makes sure you add the Garlic Sauce. OMG! Life changing! Place that with the equal amount of love you receive when arriving & I promise you won't ever want to eat anywhere else. They made my order wrong and when I asked them very politely to fix my order the "manager" was very rude when I said that it was made wrong and screamed in my face and said that I ordered my food wrong. For the second time I have placed a carry out order which they tell me will take 30 minutes. I come to pick up 30 minutes and they haven't even started!!!! They started making it when I walked in the door asking for the pick up! What's the point of calling ahead if I'm coming to the restaurant and waiting?? This is ridiculous. This is decent Mediterranean food. Nothing here is fantastic but it's never awful either. We usually prefer a lamb shawarma. Sometimes we get it over rice. It's a nice option for takeout once a month. The prices are reasonable especially if you use a coupon which are normally in the local coupon magazines. read more
