Pizza 216 has a great location and a nice atmosphere inside the space. If walking in from inside the Arcade figuring out where to pickup a food order can be a little confusing. Head's up it's all the way to the right which puts you in the front of the restaurant. I realize this is a pizza place, but to me pizza and wings go hand and hand. So I tried one of their dry rubbed wings. With that said, the term dry rub makes one expect wings with the seasoned rub, rubbed into the wing. That is not what I received. The wings came with the rub in a container on the side. This made the wings themselves very bland. The rub tasted like Lawry's and sugar. I would not order these again. I think I should've tried the pizza instead. I'm not going to rule this place out. Once I'm over the wing experience I will give the pizza a shot. It's still a nice space. read more

We stopped in the Wedbesday night before Thanksgiving so not the busiest of nights but still had a decent turn out for their weekly Wednesday night trivia so that's pretty cool. My cousin and I went directly to bar where I saw a familiar face. Missy was bartending and I've known her from a previous bar and she is an amazing bartender and such a happy person, I was so excited to see her. We each ordered a draft and decided to share the fried pickles and a pizza. The fried pickles were probably some of the best I've ever had. The breading doesnt fall apart as you eat them, they are soggy, seriously very good. The pizza was also delicious, very nice thin crust, good sauce and cheese, they have a few cheese and sauce options but we opted for classic and really enjoyed it. I called 75 minutes ahead to pick up two pizzas but my order was still 20 minutes late despite the restaurant being mostly empty. Additionally, I ordered a large gluten free pizza and received a small. Upon talking to staff, they told me no large option exists for the gluten free, despite me confirming my order twice over the phone and never being told this until after I paid. Additionally, they tried to convince me this was a "medium" pizza despite being in a small box (and no medium size existing on their menu). I then asked why I got charged for a large pizza and they told me it was just how the gluten free pizza worked (despite me already paying an additional charge for it to be gluten free). We stopped here for dinner on a Saturday around 5:30. The restaurant has a pretty modern vibe with high top tables and a nice size bar for seating. Right behind the bar is where the pizzas are being made, so you get to see them putting them in and pulling them out of the brick oven. They have a solid beer list, the wine list looked a bit limited, but they also had a pretty good bourbon selection. They have a good list of appetizer options, but we skipped them and went straight for a margherita pizza. Glad we did! It was the best we've ever had. The crust was perfect, great chew and flavor, dusted with cornmeal on the bottom gave it some more texture. The sauce was also awesome, fresh San Marzano tomatoes, and the mozzarella was fresh and plentiful, finished off with some fresh basil and Parmesan cheese. We'll be back for this for sure. You won't find a better margherita pie in Cleveland! My only complaint would be the two top, bar height table was a little small and made it a little challenging to eat. We made reservations for 12 and got sat at the table by the door that was continuously opening. We all ate in our winter jackets because of how cold it was. We told the hostesses & they decided to have an attitude & not do anything about it. Through the process of dinner, they brought out the food randomly and not together like a proper restaurant making it very awkward. My boyfriend finished his whole meal before I even got mine. Our waiter did not clear the table so it was very messy. The pizza took almost an hour to come out even thought it was just thin crust pizza that would take about 5-10 min in the oven. After 10 minutes the food was absolutely cold because of the door constantly opening. It would be different if this was just a takeout place, but it was a cute place that had okay food. Only my second or third time to Pizza 216 since I used to live across the street from it when it first opened. The pizzas have definitely been improved since they first opened their doors and I believe everyone else realizes this as the crowds have also increased. They really put their name on the map in the last couple of years. I ordered the margarita pizza this time and it tasted as if the ingredients were made that day. So fresh and airy was the crust and the heaviness of a normal pizza was nonexistent. We left feeling satisfied instead of stuffed. We sat at the bar and the only criticism would be they need more help behind the bar and making the pizza (the pizza making is fully visible from the bar). Happy hour is a great deal at Pizza 216. A small pizza is on their happy hour menu is enough to feed 2 people, which is a crazy price! I love how their pizza is thin crust and the ingredients are so fresh. I added sausage to the cheese pizza and it was a great decision! We decided to grab some quick pizzas as it was a snowy and cold day downtown, and other pizza places are closed on Sunday. (Which we do not understand...who doesn't love pizza on Sundays??) This place offers brick oven pizza and the crust is seasoned and really flavorful. We tried the Bianca and the King pizza. (King has pepperoni, sausage, onions and peppers. We opted for no mushrooms.) this is a thinner soft crust and both pizzas were really good. The "downer" is they do not offer delivery, so we had to grab the pizzas and walk a dozen blocks in the cold before we got back to the apartment. I'm sure it would taste even better when eating fresh at the restaurant. (Not sure where parking would be available so we walked as this is located in the arcade building on Euclid. There is still construction downtown so parking and running inside to grab the pizzas is not really an option.) We will definitely be back!! read more
